All of the themes for Hoover Dam, even ones that were cut from the final game. 00:00 NCR Low 02:04 NCR Mid 04:08 NCR High 06:12 Legion Low 08:16 Legion Mid 10:19 Legion High
"Imagine: Two snarling dogs fighting over a curve of bone, perhaps a rib of their master, long dead. It'll be a pitched battle, that's a certainty, perhaps the greatest battle Earth has seen since the human race nearly made itself extinct".
House do be like "yeah they gonna fight or something, whatever, just go and hack the dam, regular tuesday" Man talks about repairing a monorail with equal excitment to winning against both largest nations in wasteland
Imagine, Enclave and Brotherhood fighting side by side with the NCR, no clue if that's possible, but I've just figured out what my next playthrough is going to be
I love the Dam's theme from before the battle. Inon Zur did an amazing job. The frantic staccato of cello (?) and the military drums really highlight how despite being "peaceful" the 2nd Battle of Hoover dam looms right over the horizon and the NCR is working on borrowed time trying to build as good of a defense as possible. Having what would normally be considered battle music for a peaceful area is an excellent way of highlighting how the Hoover Dam is the crux of the war and whoever controls the Dam controls the fate of the Mojave.
The final battle with the Harder Hoover Dam mod is INSANE. The Legion really lived up to it’s name, and as for the NCR, I haven’t tried siding against them yet, and I’m afraid of what it would be like if I did.
Probably entails getting anti-materieled from across zone whilst a couple of salvage armor chuckleheads pelt you with explosives. Better invest in healing poultice.
I downloaded that mod because the battle was a one-sided slaughter of the NCR while siding with the Legion. But with this mod, it's really exciting, especially with the mod that improves combat AI, there are ×3 more NCR Ranger snipers, and a LOT more regular troopers.
NCR Private: “Sir! An issue at the frontlines of the dam!” NCR Sergeant: “What the hell is it now? We’ve already got an issue with a Legate!” NCR Private: “It’s the men, sir! They’ve.. they’ve started dancing! Even the Legion soldiers have joined in!” NCR Sergeant: “Damnit! I knew that music on the job was a terrible idea. What about the Veteran Rangers?” NCR Private: “Let me check... ... They just joined in, sir.” NCR Sergeant: “DAMN! Well, if you can’t beat ‘em...”
My first playthrough was Legion years ago when this game came out. But my next playthrough last year was as a House/NCR double agent. I was enthusiastic every time I walked the halls of Hoover Dam with this music blaring as my NCR rep increased. Felt like being in a movie where tensions were maxing out as I became idolized by NCR. (I didn't mind aiding my future society of customers, after all.) The great betrayal at the very end was also f**king amazing. Highly recommend it! It comes with the most main story quests as a two-timing courier, and dunking on the Legion was never more fun by working for their two biggest opposers simultaneously. Since House already has NCR cooperation on the Strip, you literally don't have to cross them until _the very end,_ meaning you can do everything for them both up to the final stretch before nuking both NCR and Legion at the end of Lonesome Road, ending with a total massacre across all camps that finally ends where it all began: the Dam itself.
Two sides of the same coin, fallen, seeking to rise again as a powerful revolutionary force in the world, to resurrect the flame of civilization, seeking to rise from the ashes, a republic, a empire, their ideologies rooted in the ways of ancient Rome
@@tamorcetold You can like both, being fond of the Ncr doesn't necessarily mean that you want them to take over the mojave. See, this was epic and nice how after your long adventures in Fallout 3 all the way east in Washington D.C., you then went thousands of miles westward to the story of the Courier in New Vegas and Hoover Dam. And did long adventures as him there. Nostalgia!

It's been a long tour, all I can think about now is going back home.
We won't go quietly, the legion can count on that.
"If the legion breaks through our defenses, I've got one bullet I'm saving just for me."
All the NCR soldiers do is whine, try acting tough, whine again, or contemplate suicide.

Why there are only NCR and Legion themes...The story is more than the fight than these two awful factions.
...because the battle of Hoover Dam is between NCR and Legion? Dam Nation is supposed to be the theme of that.
