- One of gardening rake handles broke and I decided to change them with hickory. The task seemed trivial at first but proved to be bit more complex. Now I have several old rakes with brand new handles. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

About:
This channel is created to share my passion for woodworking and build a community to support beginners in woodworking, like me. For me, the woodworking is fun, inspiring and helps me to design, create and relax. By no means I am professional and this is my journey exploring techniques and solutions to various woodworking project challenges and you are invited to check on my progress. I believe in humble beginnings and started this channel with a purchase of a rusty/old table saw ( • Table saw restoration ... ) and out of it, I build this nice tool ( • Table saw Restoration ... ) that I enjoy using every time. Hard work always produces desirable results and you can see my progress as my woodworking skills improve. My early projects started with building rudimentary tools like Crosscut Table saw sled ( • Making a Crosscut sled ) that I needed to finish my table saw cabinet. When I introduced my thin strip jig idea ( • Thin strip jig experim... ), there was much discussion in one forum where it was compared with $300 Inca tool and was suggested that I buy that instead. My response was simple, I rather build my tools from scratch or restore old tools just because I love time spent on those projects. Also, you enjoy using the tools that are handmade or restored, more than ones you spent a fortune to buy.
Sometimes I am just frugal and enjoy nice things that I cannot possibly purchase for reasons beyond monetary concerns. Like the time I wanted to buy a set of squares with wooden handles and ended up making my unique own set ( • Making Set of Squares ). There are lots of videos and projects that promote all wood squares but I think of it as cheating. People who make this beautiful squares from various species of hardwood fail to tell you that they do not age well and need constant adjustments which in my book makes them useless decorative pieces. Projects I work are selected to be interesting and provide unique experience/function like approach to making wooden spheres with a router( • Router jig for wooden ... ). The fun part about this project is that you can substitute the router with some other tool like a chainsaw and make a large sphere, just for fun. Sometimes I am tempted to build something generic, like a wooden box but anyone can do that so I end up building ( • Toolbox for Alcohol St... ) toolbox without nails and Japanese joints. I hope one day to be able to allocate more time to my projects but for now, I am limited to weekends. When you become part of our community and contribute with comments, subscription and likes, you will help to create more projects and frequent updates. Your opinion counts so voice it and help others by comments and suggestions. Let's make this a community that supports and helps each other to make the life little bit more fun.

I watched this for the music and wasn’t disappointed.
Couldn’t hear you over the music
I'll say the best part of the video was your homemade V blocks
thanks for this, it showed me how to fix a couple of favorite tools.
That's what I felt I need to do. I have a few rake tangs that are a folded wire, while any available rake handles have holes too small to fit.
Nice repairs on the tools.
One suggestion though, about your videos, the music drowns out your commentary and you are hard to hear. Can you increase the volume of your comments? Thanks.
Thanks, unfortunately youtube does not allow changes to the videos. My only option is to delete and upload new version.
Try earbuds, even cheap ones are much better than a computer speaker. I have hearing aids and I could hear the computer speaker.
@@vantonyan912 Maybe just give the music a miss 😀
2 of my old Ames rakes broke. Lifetime warranty. Hassle free, FREE replacement via 1-800#. Gonna try to fix broken ones now but I use em hard so they won't hold up a day.
nice job. I got an old hay rake I need to do.
Thanks, Good luck with your project
A rakes is pictured but was not shown how a replacement is inserted into handle. Music is too loud.
what was the hole in the end of the handle for?
👍
Nice job & interesting music. What’s the name of the background music?
John Daly and the Bad Brown Acid
Can’t hear what he’s saying because the music is too loud. Why do you need music for this anyway?
Too much music!!! Helpful though. Thanks.
Better than the pumping techno music and rap found on most other videos! I enjoyed this music and it didn't drown out the instructions.
Music set on 8; voice-over on 2. Swap the settings.
Getting that nail out wasn't easy. I hung the rake head on my vice and punched it out, also not easy.
I guess I’ll just buy a new rake.
I’m about to return this crazy stick to Home Depot and for 4 dollars more get a new one 😂
Screw this... for 10 more bucks I can just buy a brand new rake.
I already bought the handle, it was a lot of work getting the rake out of the sleeve, next time I will do the same as you.
music is too loud
Sorry will fix on future videos
yo momma's too loud
well that sucked!!!!
I can't hear a word you are saying because the music is too loud
The music makes me feel sick while I am anxiously trying to fix my favorite garden tool. Why did you speed it up? You did not even talk about how you drilled it.
All I can hear is the music!
Why would you play that stupid music
Music annoying as f.....
MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC ho had cudi be? MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC
Get rid of the background music so I can focus on video. Very distracting!!!!
The music was too anorring
Get rid of music
