  • In this viewer-requested video, I’m sharing how I personally work with 3-card readings, using a number of Lenormand decks in my collection.
    The decks featured in the video (in order of appearance) are:
    1. Malpertuis Lenormand by Neil Lovell (Malpertuis Designs Ltd.)
    I’m not certain if this deck is still available for purchase, as Neil passed away in 2018. His site is still active, though, and you can learn about the deck there: www.malpertuis....
    2. Wanderwust Lenormand by Wandering Oracle.
    I just discovered that this deck will be discontinued as of February 1, 2019. You can learn more about it (and its status) here: www.wanderingo...
    3. Mystical Lenormand by Regula Elizabeth Fiechter & Urban Trösch.
    I got this deck through Amazon (I’m in the United States) here: www.amazon.com...
    4. 1889 Lenormand Oracle by Jennifer Kast (For the Seekers).
    This little beauty is available through the For the Seekers Etsy store here: www.etsy.com/l...

    In the video, one of my questions to the cards was if the deck I backed on Kickstarter would arrive in the mail. The video was filmed on January 21, 2019, so I was asking about the next day (January 22, 2019).
    I checked the mail on January 22nd, and the deck *did not* arrive, so the cards correctly answered the question. I thought I'd share an update for those who might be wondering... ;-)
    *Update* - The deck I mentioned in the video arrived on February 2, 2019.

    Great and informative video James! I love that you used different decks with different questions. I like to shuffle along with you and see how my cards compare with yours. I happen to have the Mystical Lenormand as well so it was really fun, and I saw a challenging date for Jane and Jack too!

      And I love hearing about shuffling along with me, and seeing what cards come up on your end! That's a great way to turn learning Lenormand into a game, and having fun with it!
      And I'm sure "Jack and Janet" would benefit from that additional info! ;-)

    Hi James! Thanks for doing the 3-card readings, it was very interesting, enjoyable and beneficial to my studies. I also want to say that reading the cards out loud to myself really does help and I will get more words/situations that pop into my mind. Naturally, there will be times when I'm just stuck and that's it. When that happens, I try not to dwell on it too long and just move on and lay another spread.

    Hi James, I've been following your Lenormand videos for a while and I find them very detailed and thorough. I have a question - do you ask yes-no questions in your readings? I have tested a few methods (like for example the positive vs negative cards) but they don't work for me. I also noticed that in the first reading you didn't ask the cards "Will the deck arrive today?"" but "What will happen?" Thank you for the interesting videos you are making :) Lili

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks so much for following the videos, Lilian; that means a lot to me, and I appreciate your support.
      For the most part, I tend not to ask yes-no questions (mine are usually more open-ended), but there were a few yes-no questions in this video: the one about the movie ("Will I enjoy the movie?"), the one about the deck arrival ("Will the deck arrive in the mail tomorrow?"), and the one about the date ("Will Janet have a good time on her date with Jack?"). In each case, I went with the meanings of the cards to determine a yes-no answer.
      I know other readers will use the "positive-neutral-negative" approach, but I can never remember which cards are "neutral" (besides Gentleman and Lady), so that doesn't work for me.
      I hope that was helpful, Lilian. Thanks so much for the question, and for watching the video. :-)

      That's great! That came to me after I posted the video; the theater I usually go to has 18 spaces in it, and is lit up like Vegas, so I didn't see House in that context in the moment (I was thinking Tower). But it can definitely be a "movie house."

      Could the garden card could mean all the people that work to get the package to you? I’m just learning so curious if it’s a possibility

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  Před 5 lety

      @@sandyrichmond2570 That could be a possibility, since Garden can represent a group of people.
      Going with your possibility, the line could say, "There's a chance (Clover) that the people behind the campaign on Kickstarter (Garden being a group of people and the public/social aspect of Kickstarter) are stressed and worried (Mice) about loss (Mice)."
      But here's the thing to consider: While that tells me something about them possibly, it doesn't answer the question about the deck arriving the next day or not. It always comes back to context. ;-)

    Are those 1889’s hard to shuffle? They look like they don’t bend much...🧐 Just wondering - it’s been on my wish list.

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  Před 5 lety

      Normally I'd "Vegas Shuffle" a deck, and with the 1889, I can't. The stock, to me, seems thicker than most decks, so I either overhand shuffle it or do it the way I did in the video. It doesn't bother me to shuffle it that way; it's a beautiful deck, and I'm glad to have it in my collection. :-)

      Sort of reminded me (watching you shuffle) of the way Ciro’s Lenormand is due to the gilded edges. Like shuffling plates. 😆

      Boy, you know your decks! I got out my copy of Gilded Reverie to compare, and you're right: the inability to bend (flexibility) is exactly the same, even though there's a size difference (Gilded Reverie is larger), And both have gilded edges. I'm impressed!

    Love the Video. I did a 3 cards reading and I got Snake+Fox+Fish. I come up with :"A Manipulative deceit woman working in Swimming Business? or A Sneaky clever Woman doing a transaction? What do you think? Thanks

      @JamesHimmCoach33  Před 5 lety

      Hi, Johny! Thanks for checking out the video; I'm glad you enjoyed it.
      That's an interesting combination you drew there, and your interpretations are interesting! :-) As you know, I'm a fan of context, so it would depend on the question.
      If I pulled that combo for myself, I might read it as, "The consequences (Snake) of a financial mistake (Fox + Fish)," because my life isn't that dramatic (thank God), and I would be likely to do something like that. ;-)

    • @johnyd4977
      @johnyd4977 Před 5 lety

      My@@JamesHimmCoach33 The Question was "What will happened today?" I cut the deck usually on two, and I got Fox + Coffin? We French read the cut. Thanks

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  Před 5 lety

      Ah, I see... one of my favorite questions for the cards (as you saw in the video). ;-)
      I don't work with/read a cut, so I don't know what it might represent (theme of the day?) for you. I personally read Fox as work (which you saw in the video), so if you have a job, Fox could represent that. Fox + Coffin might suggest being confined (Coffin) to work (Fox), or not being able to go to the job (Fox) due to illness (Coffin). The pair could also say limited employment or no employment (maybe a half-day or day off). Fox + Coffin could be "a plan (Fox = strategy) to stay in bed (Coffin = bed)."
      Going with the employment aspect, Snake + Fox + Fish might suggest "a complication (Snake) on the job (Fox) deepens (Fish)." Snake might suggest a rival on the job (a woman maybe) who's causing problems. Or it could be something like a mistake being made with pay that needs to be corrected.
      There are so many possibilities to consider; the best thing might be to return to the cards at the end of your day and see, based on what you experienced throughout, what they were talking about.
      Another thing you could do with your daily draws is to ask about a specific event in your day; for example, you could ask, "What will my work day be like today?" If you're seeing a friend, you could ask, "How will my visit with my friend go?" Sometimes making the daily question really specific can help narrow the list of possible meanings for the cards.
      Hope that helps in some way, Johny!
