4:14 on the other hand, if you want a deeper voice, barking genuinely helps. It forces you to basically yell while keeping your vocal cords active. A lot of people voice training to get a more “masc” voice tend to speak very quietly, so barking gets you used to speaking louder!

It’d wild to me that we separate a mouth click from other verbal sounds. Why can’t names have clicks in them? Why are clicks different then “ah” or “mmm”? So weird how different societies section things differently
I think it's difficult to pronounce for some people, if they didn't learn it from childhood on. In Germany f.e. we have a "pf" sound or ü,ä,ö which can be difficult to pronounce for English native speakers, but we use them in names too...

Edit: I also agree with the comment underneath, and of course if it's someone's name you have to give effort into learning it, cause else it's disrespectful af. Parents are just less likely to call their kids a name they can't pronounce...
I met a dude who had a specific kind of clicking noise in his name and he was really cool. There was no "your name is too hard to pronounce" from anyone, he just taught us how to click and it was alotta fun learning. I can still pronounce it but I have no idea how to spell it.
Point is, nobody's name is "too difficult", if you think that, you just haven't put enough effort in to do the bare minimum of respect. It's allowed to be difficult, but it's not "too" difficult.

My disability might have something to do with neurodivergence. The hard part of Wilson’s disease is that since it doesn’t cross peoples minds, its hard to find information about it. It’s rare so it’s even harder to find people I can relate to, though, one of my friends has crps, and I’ve related with them about some stuff!

quick storytime (with some thoughts) bc why not: TW: transphobia
so basically this took place in my extremely small, conservative, christian school. i was in bible class, and the teacher was taking prayer requests.
this one girl (i’ll call her sally) who usually would never even think about raising her hand, made a prayer request. sally told the teacher (i’ll call her mrs. icky) that one of her friends(i’ll call them taylor) came out to her as genderfluid. sally’s request was for mrs. icky to pray that taylor would decide that they were cisgender, so that nothing “bad” would happen to them (y’all may know what im talking about).
mrs. icky had a look of disgust on her face and said that she would pray for that because “our genders aren’t fluid.” and then asked this, “what gender is taylor actually? to which sally responded, *she’s* a girl. i was so mad but i’ll talk about my thoughts below.
ok thoughts:
1. i was horrified that sally had literally outed her friend, especially to a conservative bible teacher, and our whole class? (no one else had known before this)
2. the teacher’s response of “our genders aren’t fluid” LIKE WHAT? maybe YOUR gender isn’t fluid, mrs. icky, but their’s is.
3. and the teachers audacity to ask what taylor’s agab was? thats sickening.
4. i am unable to express how mad i am about what happened in written form.
i'm so furious on behalf of Taylor as well... do you also know them? if yes, i personally would reach out to them, both to just check on them if they're okay bc if they're surrounded by "friends" like that they might need someone who reassures them of their support, and to just let them know what happened, so that in case the info spreads to other people they don't want knowing (other teachers, family, etc.) they're not caught off guard if someone confronts them about it. if you don't know them, well, i just hope they're safe and i'm so mad at Sally and your teacher too rn...

I'll play devil's advocate (haha nice pun) for sally, because I read her saying to pray for taylor to be cis so nothing bad happens to them, still VERY BAD to out someone and pray for their gender identity to be "normal" but I read it as sally wanting her friend to yknow not get hate-crimed for being gender fluid ig. Mrs. icky is very bad tho my heart goes out for Taylor I hope that they survive this nightmare
@@darkacadpresenceinbloodunfortunately, i don’t know taylor, they dont go to my school. i really hope that they have friends that support them. thankfully, as far as i know, no one else in my class (mrs. icky included) know taylor or their parents, so if the information spreads, i dont think that it can be traced back to them, but i still am concerned on their behalf.
i hope taylor doesn't go there. even though most of my classmates know i'm queer, one of my biggest fears is that one day i'm called into the office and expelled for it. this sounds like a nightmare

Thursday morning I replaced a shelf in my living room with a different shelf, and then hid the original shelf in my room. My dad didn't notice. Friday night, while trying to get my dad to notice, he finally noticed a painting I hung up in the dining room a month ago. After he looked over the shelf twice, and didn't notice, I directly pointed out that something was wrong with the shelf. He still did not notice that the shelf *itself* was what was wrong with the shelf. So I told him outright.
This all proved my point that the shelf was not of importance, so now I get to claim it at my own. Yesterday and today I've been painting it black. I'm gonna glue magazine images of vampires onto it. I need more vampire pictures though! My magazine didn't have a single picture of Akasha! Once that's done it'll be used as a shelf for my DVDs. I've got half of the painting done. 👍

A few days ago I was starting to get a little burnt out from crocheting granny squares for the vest I'm making. I had decided to make a few with randomized colors, and the first two came out pretty nice, but I didn't really like the third one. I felt it was little drab compared to all the others I've made. But I showed it to my mom and she said it might be her favorite so far. I had decided that I might leave it out and use it as inspiration for another.
After that I made a solid granny square with genderqueer colors with "she/her + neos" stitched on with rainbow yarn that was exhausting to make. Which made it difficult to admire at that time and it may have affected my current opinion of it. The lettering is pretty chaotic and on top of the rainbow I think it might be a bit difficult to read.
So I decided that I wanted to take a little break from crochet and do something fun. I haven't done the something fun yet; that will probably be today, and I sorta missed working on something while watching videos so I ended up making a mesh fingerless glove mostly with sparkly black yarn + a rainbow border and I'm pretty happy with it.
Last night I had a thought that it's pretty cool that a square could be my least favorite at the same time that it's my mom's favorite. And we're both correct. So maybe I might include it to sort of represent that.

i saw barbie and haunted mansion yesterday, so i've done what i'll now be calling a barbiemansion. and i'll give my thoughts on each here (spoiler warning):
i absolutely ADORED barbie. its messages of feminism and how it portrays them were absolutely wonderful, and the way that it made its feminist message incredibly direct with such a beautiful understanding of what feminism is about was so excellent. almost every character was relatable to me, especially sasha. when i was a kid every girl/afab kid were taught that we had to fit this very rigid description of what a woman is supposed to be, and it made a lot of us resent it. seeing sasha actively shun barbie because she sees her as a representation of what men want women to be was so relatable to my life. i also loved and related to ken and his arc so much. in the first two acts, he's a representation of the only things that the patriarchy makes men believe they can be: subservient to women, or above them. then, in the third act, he realised that he is enough. he doesn't have to exist just for barbie or exist above her. he can just be ken. that was the most beautiful part of the movie for me. the movie was also one of the funniest movies i've ever seen. almost every joke in the movie worked so well, and i was laughing out loud at several points. i definitely recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it.
haunted mansion was such a wonderful film too. the central theme of grief was executed so masterfully, and i was genuinely sobbing by the end. the way the movie compared ben's grief of his wife to travis's grief of his father was so well done. the scene where travis said that his life doesn't feel right without his father was one of the most hard-hitting scenes in any movie i've ever seen. every character was so excellently written, except for owen wilson's character, who was only pretty good in my opinion. the special effects in this movie were my favorite of any movie i've ever seen. the ghosts looked so cool and some of the scenes with them were genuinely creepy. the movie worked so well on every level, and i absolutely loved it.

last night was, well, a nightmare. "corruption", "brainwash", "danger" - all words my older sister used to describe the queer community. "this explosion is scientifically impossible". luckily i have wifi rn!! its the second day of my holiday and its been really fun so far! yesterday was more of a chill
day since we had only just got there to our caravan, but today we went to a dinosaur park place!! it has loads of cool dinosaur facts and models of them its so fun :3 also good for me and my brother since dinosaurs are a hyperfix of mine and my brother loves them!! on tuesday we are going to go on a nature ramble which is where we go on a walk in the place where we are (its so lovley; we go here every year and go on these walks) and someone tells us about all of the plants and animals here! im not sure if we’re doing it this one but before we did a bat walk and it was so interesting! we saw some bats too!

8:00 I have always felt that about pronouns! I personally will use literally anything other than she/her (so he, they, it, literally anything you come can come up with as long as I ok you using it) and if I'm in a group of cis people and I've already said it's ok for one of them to use he/him for me but not the others I can never explain that to them, there are certain pronouns I'm not comfortable with certain people using or I just don't want them to use it (like the parent first name thing, I have to be like you can use 'it' for me but until I do it's either they/them or he/him) and they just don't really get that because I'm ok with one person using that pronoun for me but not the other and that doesn't make sense to them because it's one of the 'correct' pronouns!

Can someone help me figure out if I’m autistic? My therapist believes with his entire heart that I am, but my mom refuses to believe it. anytime I bring it up she shuts it down. When my therapist told her to get me evaluated my mom took me to a place. But instead of an evaluation I got medication but she just told him I had. because she had told me we had been evaluated I believed her, but soon my friend explained how an autism evaluation would go. it was nothing like what I had gotten. So what are some of the traits that I am autistic and that I’m not autistic. I do some of the stereotypical things autistic people do like rocking uncontrollably, not completely understanding metaphors or sarcasm, and various common tics like the rocking. I am also sensitive to loud noise and textures, ect.

You could test out different pronouns or adjectives like man, woman, etc. You could also try to learn as much as you can about queer identities, and if you feel connected to one, then great! Everyone's journey is different, so this may or may not help you, but good luck!!
Be online. Make your online name something you came up with when you were eight and see just how much gender euphoria it gives you. My methods take years, but it's worth it in my opinion. You just....vibe online and come across what feels right eventually.

its a "therapy" that is used to "treat" autistic people and change their behaviour so they act more nuerotypical. often aba "therapists" have very little qualifications. aba "therapists" will force eye contact, "quite hands", verbal communication and other things that can be distressing for autistic people to do, they often will touch the person and move them into different positions or stop them stimming punishments are often things like electric shokes (this is more uncommon then the rest), taking away comfort items, taking away breaks, taking away AAC devices, restraints etc.
ABA is not actually a "therapy" it is abuse and autistic people subjected to aba are about 80% more likely to fit the criteria for PTSD then autistic people who have not been through aba

DISCLAIMER: this isn't meant to be offensive in any way and I'm super sorry if it comes off that way! I'm just genuinely interested to see if anyone felt the same way as I did about the movie.
Did anyone else not like the Barbie movie? Because though I agree with a majority of the message (and we should have more movies to have to do with feminism, female oppression and sexism in general) I feel like they should have gone into more depth with the body dysmorphia and eating disorders caused/worsened by Barbies. This made up a majority of my experience with Barbie, so I was surprised when it wasn't really addressed.
Further and this next point isn't directly related to the movie but more of how it made me feel-
I felt very "othered" by the movie as I don't heavily relate to musicality or femineity in an even remotely traditional way. A majority of content in mainstream media makes me feel this way, and I understand that not all content is made for me, but sometimes content, like the Barbie movie, makes me feel like I don't have a place in this Society or in any community and never will. I'm not sure why I felt like this as there were queer and even trans references in the movie. I think it has something to do with the way I experience my queerness and the way I was raised but I'm not completely sure.
Essentially, the Barbie movie made me feel isolated and like the eating issues caused by Barbie were ignored. Anyone else?
Me too, me & my father did not leave the cinema house with a smile like the other people. We both were so bothered by the message it was trying to give out. Like there wasn’t a single male character in the movie that acted like a realistic male. Like they dumbed the male characters down to shine light on the female characters, and it’s suppose to be semi-realistic too because there were several rants of female characters complaining how hard it is to be a woman and how males DONT understand how hard it is… It’s as they’re spreading the message that matriarchy is the answer to the real world’s problems…
