Aside from the fact that they dump trash in uncovered sewer holes, and people climb in there with bare feed and hand to pull trash from their sewer system. Aside from the fact that India still has slavery AND a caste system... Yeah, India is super great. ***SARCASM***

    Kalpana is one of the biggest and best school supply makers since I started to go to school here in India, Glad to see they are still making good stuff for our kids. There are few industries in India who would only employ the poorest workforce from villages and provide them employment and basic necessities, also clean water and schools if there is non, as these jobs are menial jobs they start earning from the first day and can improve productivity in a very short time. I am business major and commerce graduate I have done numerous research and even started my own business from -1200 rupees. I sold the company in 5 years and moved away to chase other dreams.

    You can make out that this video has been shot in India, where I hail from -- you can discern this from the racial characteristics of the people, their attire, as well as from the industrial environment in which the video was shot.
    When the West complains about the volume of carbon output by populous countries like India and China, they must keep in mind that not only do these countries lead the world in the recycling industry (almost every thing is repurposed and recycled -- paper, metal, cardboard, plastic, fabric, etc), but they produce less carbon and less material waste *PER CAPITA* , *simply because they use less resources per capita* .
    When I was a graduate student in the US, *I was appalled at how much resources a single person would consume* , in terms of disposable items, single use items, cosmetics, toiletries, as also in terms of packaging material. It was *UTTERLY SINFUL* environmentally.

    • @Undomaranel
      @Undomaranel Před 2 lety +33

      ...and? None of the US's rivers look like the Ganges.
      No one is perfect. Everyone can step up and do better. Trying to deride an entire country based on what you experienced in a localized place as a grad student is just as disgusting and misleading (and racist) as saying all of India's air is smog.
      As far as I can tell, the USA started recognizing the importance of protecting environments, recycling, and other movements to reduce consumption of products. That doesn't indicate the USA is better in any way, just that it started things. Yes the started the commercialized mass production of consumables, which means they saw the effects first and sounded the warning. That doesn't indicate that India or China is in any way behind or less, just that we're all at different places.
      How about we work together to make changes that affect everyone, instead of throwing shade because it's popular? We have one earth. We share oceans. We share air. The trees in my Pacific Northwest consume the carbon emissions of Asia that travel across the Pacific. We are all connected. Team Trees and Team Seas may have started with USA CZcamsrs, but they're internationally supported.
      We can all do better. Time to step up.

    • @visi9856
      @visi9856 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Undomaranel his/her's is a fair point. People in the US and western world love shitting on poor countries like India, Nigeria, Tchad, Indonesia and their pollution problems while producing far more waste products and shipping the waste off to poor countries to dispose off.
      And why invoke the condition of the ganges? Didn't that river in Ohio catch fire 13 times in a span of 100 years or so?
