- When the Duke of Milan is brutally murdered, the Assassin Giovanni Auditore is dispatched to investigate. The answers he uncovers implicate Italy's most powerful families reaching all the way back to the Vatican itself. As Giovanni draws closer to the truth, he becomes hunted himself. He must expose the conspirators before he joins their ever growing list of victims.
Lineage is the prequel to the Assassin's Creed II story, revealing the machinations of 15th century Italy through the actions of Ezio's father, Giovanni.
Episode # 1:
1476, Florence. Giovanni Auditore, an assassin, attempts to thwart a conspiracy against one of Lorenzo de Medicis allies. The ensuing inquiry will take him to Milan where he tries to prevent the worst from happening.

It's sad that this was WAY better than the actual movie. One of the reasons is because it starred the actual actors from the Ezio Trilogy. And no Abstergo crap.
But abstergo plays an important part in the original games especially with Desmond

Few years later to comment: I am glad you did this! I am glad for a real movie to come out. Now hollywood took it and turned it into something else, something the fans of the game could not sync with...
This is just a wonderful thing to watch, especially if you are following the Assassin's Creed series from beginning to end. The suspense is beautiful, the graphics are gorgeous. It's absolutely flawless.
2019 still remember that epic journey with Ezio

Ezio's face in the game is actually Desmond's face because of the use of the Animus. Probably this movie depicts what Ezio actually looks like.

I hope the film actor to appear back in assasin creed on the big screen as cinema theaters. Leonardo da vinchi, Rodrigo Borgia who cooperate with Cesare Borgia and the banker, thieves gang as informant, wolf and some love story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze with his girlfriend who later dropped out because of busy duties as an Assasin against Borgia's Soldier and many other stories. in fact, this film continued in serial next assasin creed where giovanni (ezio father) was killed and continued his duties by ezio as next assasin.

People people listen, this is not Ezio this is his father Giovanni Auditore the reason they are wearing the same outfit is because Giovanni is an assassin then Giovanni actually gives the suit to Ezio because he knew it was finally time for Ezio to join the creed. Like Altair his father was an assassin Edward Kenway is an assassin and let his son Haythem Kenway join the creed And that's why Connor is an Assassin
NOTE: Though Haythem is an assassin he transferred to the templars for a reason)
Ohhhhh now I get it. Giovanni Auditore is the father of Ezio Auditore in AC II. So that's the reason why Giovanni got sentenced to death by the Templars: Because he was an Assassin.

It was - it was official marketing material by Ubisoft; the guys playing the characters are the actual voice actors from the game... hence why they look so much like their parts (the devs modelled the ingame characters to look like their VAs)

Altair was also easily outrunning 26-year olds at the age of 62, but what I think happened is that Ezio pushed himself too hard in the last 30 years of his life, and ended up being too tired and drained by the age of 64 to do any of the assassin stuff like Altair or Giovanni.

absolutely perfect casting for everyone except young Ezio! Everyone else looks almost identical to the game! loved this!! I would really like a show based on AC2 but even if they were to make it casting Ezio would be a really big problem. Even the actor they modeled his face on doesn't really look as cool as him, he'd be ok for Desmond but not Ezio. And voice is another big problem. To me there is no Ezio without Roger Craig Smith, his voice is half of Ezio's character and without it with some other actor's voice it would not really be him. so I don't know how they would pull that off for anyone to be satisfied... :(

There is a book very similar, written in the 1900's, it even has the Borgia family,etc. It is called Prince of Foxes. Spectacular read.

I wonder if the feature film will also have the Assassins jumping from roofs without taking a sweat. This might work in videogames but it is quite over-the-top in real life. Even if you have the best training in the world you cannot defy laws of nature.
I think i know what you mean, i noticed this the other day and agree, i think that in the games, the reason you look the same as Desmond but with a beard etc is because, as you say, you are kinda Desmond playing as Ezio / Altair, rather than Ezio / Altair themselves. So either Ubisoft were lazy with modelling and made them have the same model as Desmond, or it's intentional that the underlying model is the same

I believe that in the Lineage videos we see the true face of Ezio, while in the game we see Desmond's face projected on Ezio by the Animus. Maybe that's why Ezio, Altair and Desmond have the same face in the games.

It's very hard to tell by the graphics whether or not it's a video game or a movie. Even so, it's a great production.
And that is why I play Connor with the attitude of :" Oh you have 10 guys on the main gate? I have a fucking boarding axe, and I am coming for you!".
these guys should make an official movie of the Assassins creed games, they did a good job with this one.
No actor can be as badass as Altair/Ezio/Connor in the trailers.

And for the update... Leonardo Da-Vinci, only upgraded gear for Ezio... if you payed attention that the firs time he fixes the blade for Ezio, he haven't seen such elegant design before... That also was in the Codex pages... Written by Altair.
It's pretty good considering it's low budget I hope the movie will be awesome when it comes out though :)

Some of the actors from Lineage actually provided their "face" to the character models AND voiced them in the game. Romano Orzari (Giovanni) for example.

I think they did a good job with Ezio his perfect description would be a handsome young man with a thirst for revenge and its hard to find a man/boy to fit that description
I liked Connor ^^ Ubisoft said that unlike Altair or Ezio, he doesn't resembles an eagle, but a wolf, that's why his fighting style is much more agressive
