Thank you for going around to different food courts & markets. I really miss the food & Iâm glad I can see & imagine it!đ
Imagine as vividly as you can.. đ hope to have you back soon
I started following your channel last night... I love how you film the food up close & love how you tell the story. Very different & entertaining. So many yummy foods in Singapore. I wish I could go there. I especially love the fast foods/mixed rice. Keep filming & keep eating. đđđ
Hello Karen đ welcome to my little foodie observation (kaypoh) channel.. love that viewers can share their own stories about their favorite food. Stay Safe and hope for you to visit someday soon đ
hello ddearest piggypug!!! wow you're like a radio dj taking requests now heehee! but i love this hawker centre! i always go the ah neo geng nearby lol. its really hot there though airflow not so great it seems. never knew the yong tau fu is the most popular stall... mostly they all seem well occupied. sitting here chewing on milk n granola for breakfast while watching u walk around in heaven ..... sigh. LIke167 for u piggy!
If only a goreng pisang can magically appear in your cup đ hope youâve got your visa sorted out. đ„°
@ Piggypuggy.........great eats at Waterloo Street Food Centre. Loves the Curry Fish from the Mamak Stall facing the Pedestrian Mall..a stall away from the Indian Rojak đđđ
After Mamak Stall, the Goreng Pisang Stall is ALWAYS the next, followed by a Cuppa of Kopi Siew Tai which locates, nearer the Wash Room (same row as Goreng Pisang)
Those bananas are known as Pisang Kepok and I love the white variety - sour & sweet flavor. The sliced sweet potatoes are excellent too.....thanks for the lovely memories and a LOUD đ for you, bro.....Awesome video đđđ
Our food Guru đđ„ł ever thought of publishing your memories of all the hawkers you recall? It'd be an excellent food trial for many to explore đ
@@Piggypuggy
Thanks to you and other Foodies for uploading ALL the awesome vlogs that helps me to reminisce those wonderful days of "going out" to eat experiences, during my younger days.....appreciate all the HARD WORK involved in producing those wonderful videos and a BIG đ to ALL......writing a book in this life is too late for me, bro - with no photos nor record of names & location of eateries etc.....a lesson learnt too late in life about importance of proper documentation of one's life events.
Good video. I visited this place back in 2016 and certainly did not see that may different stalls back then. Some of the tools and equipment the hawkers use in your videos are just so unique and functional. They are certainly more contemporary now. Look the Yong Tau Fu, looks good. Wow, durian balls? Always love a good goreng pisang. My favorite is goreng champedak too. Chinese Nasi Lemak stall is amazing, with so many ingredients. Mouth watering. I agree with you, love that Tauhu Goreng...Thanks for filming this!đ€€đ
Yeah.. my favourite is goreng champedek too! But as a kid.. it was always strangely the most expensive item. I bet you haven't had champedek in a long while đ I'm dreaming of Nasi Briyani now đ€€
@@Piggypuggy Well Puggy, it would be an understatement that I haven't had champedak in a long while. This fruit does not even exist here in CA for me to buy. We have plenty of jackfruit though, but cannot find champedakđą
@@elizabethquintal2499 time to put in goreng champedek in your must have checklist for your next visit! đ€€đ
Some parts of California is warm, perhaps a champedek seed could grow!!! I was amazed to see banana tree growing in someone's garden and this being southern UK
I also never been to this hawker center before .. as I'm staying at the East of Singapore. So by watching the all the video that you have gone before. I really enjoy .. Thumbs up for youđđ
Haha.. now you agar agar know what the hawker looks like. This is just a stones throw away from Bugis MRT. Stay Safe Mahani
you did it, piggypuggy. another Central spot covered. kudos! the banana goreng stall is my favourite too. i like their fried yam & fried banana.
Yes.. I remembered your request đ his durian fritters was goood toooo
Interesting and Nice upload.đ My friendđ. Have a great dayâš.
Thank you! You too!
Excellent video mate. Canât wait to come here and try the pig trotters!
đ lots to eat.. sample everything to get a feel
We tried this way back in 2019 and until now I'm still craving for it. Glad that you covered the noodle stall well! I miss their noodles so much đđ
Looks like Iâve gotta head back there to try some đ
If nobody mentioned it yet, Those red berries in the mutton soup are goji berries. I wish we had Hawker centers in Canada.
Yeah.. goji berries.. older folks used to tell me it's good for my eyes as a kid. đ My aunt makes it a point to visit every 2 years pre covid.. just to satisfy her crave of local grub
@@Piggypuggy Carrots are good for they eyes, Not Goji berriesđ
You have an aunt in Canada? What province?
I wish we had these stalls in Tokyo too! Love the open-air style building toođâ€ïžThere are many restaurants for lunch here but it costs more than 1000yen. How much do you spend for lunch normally?đ
For Hawker centres.. Usually $5-10. Thatâs about 400-800 yen for a meal thatâs around $3-5 and maybe $2 for a large sugar cane juice to wash it down with. Kinda like Tenya price
@@Piggypuggy I love your videos! You inspire me. I also post similar videos and thought maybe we can collab :)
I sent you an email so let me know.
@@Piggypuggy thats very cheap. I like that.
There are many 6 to 800 yen bowls in Japan if not wrong
Love this hawker centre. My family and I whenever we visit Singapore we usually stay at Mercure Bugis, Albert hawker is always our favourite. Enjoy a few beers with an Uncle from one of the stalls there. Hope everyone is safe. Thank you for sharing great vdos.
Your fan from Thailand.
Satwadeekhap.. hope all's doing well in Thailand đ„° glad it brings back fond memories for you and family. Hope to visit each other soon
@@Piggypuggy indeed, miss Singapore and the foods. Plus missing the beer session with "Uncle" đđ
There's awesome fish noodles soup, rice porridges and beef ho fan to die for at Alberts. Stay safe my friend.
Ps. We love city runs around the marina Bay area. Missing evening 10k runsđą
@@DocKenRunner42195 wow.. I admire you being able to run so effortlessly đ plus you'll be burning off those extra calories so effortlessly too đ Stay safe friend.. Singapore has plans to open up soon for those whos been vaccinated.. you'll be running around Marina Bay area again soon enough
Excellent video! Thank you for allowing me to note the names and numbers of some stalls for future reference.
Haha.. these days the resolution is so clear.. I usually reverse and pause to see the details. Beauty about CZcams. Canât do that with regular TV programs đ
This time i first to support you!đ
Wah! Swee laa brudder! Hahaha đ Kum Sia Kum Sia..
January 2023 will be my first time visiting Singapore. Not sure i will have a chance again to visit as i live in North America. After watching these videos, I can't wait to try out all these hawker centres. đ Can you give the top 10 hawker foods i must definitely try? Thanks so much âșïž
Thanks for your sharing, will try the yong tau foo, but hv to go early and que, đ
As long as there isnât someone in front buying 10 packets on the spot.. I think thereâs a number.. maybe you can call and have them pre packed too
thanks enjoyed the walk; you missed out a particular dessert stall with yummy tau suan đ there's now a dessert branch at beauty world plaza.
Haha.. I blur sotong.. first time there w a friend.. I used to stay across at foot of bt timah. Beauty world upstairs would be my mini hawker. Wonder howâs biz these days
i was hypnotized as well đ
Hope it's therapeutic in some sense đ
Hmmm, the Yong Tau Fu looks good. đ€€đ. Thanks Piggypuggy.
They kept offering me some.. but I couldnât stop and eat đ will go back and queue for it again.. And maybe have that pork trotters rice too
It's cold today here that Yong Tau Foo and the Wanton mee would go down a treat, I love the young lady who brought her tiffin box as well, nice to see hawkers moving away from plastics all over Asia these days. Followed up with goreng pisang with an individual tub of ice cream. (Oh if you want a little snack when watching the sport of your choice, Indonesia kerpok with Malaysian Satay sauce, my version of chips and dip) (Chinese berry Goji or wolfberry)
You should curate my videos for me.. the way you describe make me Lao Nuaa.. âdroolâ đ€€
@@Piggypuggy You keep making them, I'll keep commenting lol.
@@Morgan_Au canât get that goreng pisang and individual tub of ice cream off my mind..
@@Piggypuggy hope you get to enjoy it, get some for the kids then you can have more ice cream lol
Those orange herbal berries in the mutton tendon soup are Goji Berries.
The broth looks tasty.
Yeaaahhh.. Goji berries.. good for your eyes đ they say.. thanks đ
Aka wolfberry
@@skyyeo3578 thank you đ
Good to see these hawker centre running smoothly.
Wolfberry is the answer for the mutton tendon soup. Would love to try that pork trotter rice from the bai nian stall!
That pork trotter stall is new from Bai Nian.. they're one of the more established hawker chains I've seen that can expand and be successful at whatwver they do
Hope to locate the Bak Kut Teh shop formerly operating at the demolished Rocher Complex . Could it be operating in this Albert Street Food Centre ?
Anyone knows itâs whereabout ?
Please advise ! Thank you !
Found this forum that claims Song Fa BKT chain is run by the kids of Song Huat. You reckon?

hahaha... orange berry = wolfberry
that goreng pisang stall is my mom's favorite, she will always buy whenever she go bugis. The fish soup and kueh chap over there is nice too..
Worse thing abt doin this job is⊠I soooo want to immediately sit and eat whatever Iâm filming.. everything just looks sooo good. Canât wait till 21 JUN
They also call it Goji berry, thanks as always for interesting videos, now to my boring home cooking!!! Greetings from London
Itâs great to see that Londoners are out in the streets again and even without masks.. stay safe đ and hope for you to return soon for some local food therapy đ
20:10 Wow itâs really looks so delicious đ
Wish I can eat like a Monster..
We'll be going there nxt month and staying near bugis area. Can I ask what is their operating hours? Thanks for the video, very helpfulđ
It's usually lively in the early mornings and lunch.. I haven't been there in the evenings though..
Oh.. avoid Mondays.. most hawkers across the island typically rest on Mondays with some exceptions
@@Piggypuggy thanks but I mean, what time do they open in the morning?
Ah.. The Yong Tau Fu opens at 730am.. according to their Google directory
@@Piggypuggy thanks!

I really love to watch yr videos cos u did a good job by showing every stall in details but u miss out my favorite indian rojak stall and is ok thanks for yr hard work
Ahahaha.. thanks. Too many stalls at each hawker centre. What's the name of the stall. Will look out for it next time I'm there đ
Can you review Tampines Round Mkt ? Especially the Sarawak kolo noodles towards the front.
Haven't been there before.. will visit someday đ
Those pig's knuckles and trotters look nice. I can polish off those with a large plate of rice. Yummy!!đ€€đ
hi there ipiggy is albert foodcenter assessible by wheelchar?
@23.08 why never use glove ? Is this ok ?
Really need to support our UNESCO hawker pride.... We fought so hard... So wasted if most can't survive no on site dining.
Let hope govt can help to preserve the pride.
You nailed it Simon..
Itâs like we keep hailing it as our Pride.. but we also need to support them in times of need
@@Piggypuggy public support can only do so much, and many felt govt isn't doing enough to support them in other ways..... I personally felt the same.
One more shong shong closure.... We can kiss the pride good bye.
@@gotmyonu1027 yaa laaa.. only the popular stalls are surviving.. the rest are older folks.. and everyday they sit there not knowing how much they can sell.. Govt only have safety officers patrolling.. but do they have staff looking into whatâs hailed as our National Pride? 1mth of rent waiver is nothing to help those who are really in need
@@Piggypuggy Govt don't even care about them any more, left them out to die.. They support only large and reputable foreign F&b.....
Marked my words .. after Covid, govt will wondered what happened to most Hawkers.
17:07 in bahasa Indonesia it's called perkedel
Haha.. I didnât really know how to spell it.. always sounds like bag ge del to me. So itâs perkedel.. learnt something new today đ„°
What a nice place đ„°đ
Looks like tasty food đđ

Bai Nian Yong Tau Fu is very good. Savory and light. I go there often. Btw the person who commented on the pig trotters is so rude. So Eurocentric. As if he is the norm and others are weird. Well Mister, whatâs weird to you is normal for others; and whatâs normal to you may be weird to others.
Havenât got a chance to try the yong tau fu yet. The Aunty was asking me to try one.. she recommend what to eat đ
Speaking of pig trotters.. I just went back to AMK this morning to try them. Gosh.. itâs soooo good đ well.. all I can say itâs their loss to turn their nose đœ up and be snotty about other cultures delights đ€Ł
@@Piggypuggy totally. I didnât know about the pig trotter place until I saw it in your video. I was near Albert food Centre this afternoon; wished I had seen this video earlier, wouldâve gotten some pig trotters and intestine meesua. As the saying goes 'one man's meat is another's poison'.
When in my 20's, friend made a delicious rabbit casserole, tasted like chicken BUT no way will I eat it now ESPECIALLY seeing someone's pet rabbit. Also have not seen it being sold in supermarkets in Mallorca last ?18 years, was popular. . Nor could I eat horse meat (French), snails, Filipino 'young chick in egg'.
Iâm take two servings of the pig trotters please! đ
Next time I must watch your videos only in the day. Watch at night then now how?? I wanna eat the fried banana and durian balls but cannot go buy already.
@@sunchildtine aiyooooo Malaysia goreng pisang best laaa. Rm2 one whole bag. Eat until shiok. Why come here.
Iâm still thinking about my pig organs soup at this hour.. oh! Theyâre closed on Mondays. Donât go on Monday ok?

Haha.. alamak.. i blur sotong laa.. first time there. Walked past but didnât see any line forming.. so I went to see the yong tau fu
Like the lovely natural hair colour of banana hawker, matches my Cairn Terrier
Iâm almost there.. đ
Well, lucky u, save trouble dyeing hair lah!! When my Pugsy, terrier, was only one, while walking along, this lady stranger exclaimed, 'wow, did u dye your hair to match your dog'!!! I was not displeased cos Pugsy has most beautiful unusual colour for Cairn Terrier!!!
Still going through all videos, highlighting best food stalls so when we there 2022 hopefully!!, will not be lost/also saving time,/plus cannot 'tahan' afternoon heat-sun/humid ity. Even here, when very warm/humid days, Aircon to cool room but must switch off otherwise 'damp' enters body (Chinese medicine). Also if windy, must cover neck/head.
