- We sent out Maggi Kari Mee packets to our friends and family to try for the first time. What is it like for Americans who have never eaten Malaysian food before to try Malaysian Maggi curry noodles for the first time? They mostly liked it, but many definitely thought they were really spicy. Watch this video to see their reaction and feedback to this Malaysian favorite.

For us that is not spicy enough. Some of us, like me, we add chopped fresh chillies to eat with it 😂 taste better

yes .. I strongly agree with that 100 percent .. hopefully more people will like it but do not eat too much .. later the body will get fatter
In SE Asia, we eat this brand because it's cheap and easy to get at the mini marts and supermarkets. I believe we in SE Asia grow up consuming this (not on a *daily basis* though as it's a processed food and therefore *not healthy* ) as one of our favourite dishes.

I'm Malaysian it's on like 3 or 4 on a scale of 1- 10
To overcome the spice, Put some onions,one or two eggs and some diced chicken when cooking it. Stir with love, and put the fire out just when the egg is about cooked. Voila, even more magical happiness in a bowl.

The delicious way to enjoy maggie noodles is by not dumping the seasoning with the noodles into the pot with a high volume of water,like most people do.By doing so, you will end up with a diluted broth that is tasteless. Cook the noodles first in the pot with all the side dishes you like to add, like veggies, fish balls, eggs etc. Once cooked, then drain out excess water, leaving only abt 3/4 volume for the gravy, them only add the seasoning sachet . Then the broth will be thicker and full of flavour.

A tip: if you can’t stand the spicyness. Crack an egg when you cooking the noodles and it will reduce the spicyness and make it taste better for me at least hahhaha

Maggi Mee was our college midnight snacks. Since we don't have a stove at the dorm so the only way was to pour hot water in a bucket (of course we wash it thoroughly first) and put the noodles with all kind of flavours in it. Just imagine how it taste like when you have asam laksa + curry + chicken flavours. It was a lot fun eating with friends especially during exam week when you're always extra hungry with all those midnight studying.😁😋
Rachel here! It’s funny because my college memories are so similar, but with Top Ramen instead of Maggi! I wish I had Maggi while I was in college, now I feel like I missed out 😉

Im a Malaysian. Maggi Curry noodles are the must have instant noodle for ever home and it is often sold out within days of new stock. For 45 years this curry flavour aroma still hook me into addition
Correct me if im wrong. The taste will be delicious If we cook the noodle in pot compare than we just pouring a hot water and close it with the plate for awhile. 😋

Talk about slowburn. But this slowburn is addictive to everyone because instead of turning you off, you started craving for it. Sure there are spicier food out there, but Maggi Curry is special in that everyone of every age can enjoy it.

back in 96 when i was in england, i craved for maggi so much. i can only find it in china town but it is really expensive. then, my cousins came for a holiday in uk. and brought a box of maggi....after being seperated for almost a year from maggi. it felt like when we were first started dating. having it on a cold day is just heaven...double pack, with spinach and eggs.

@@KumaarFamily yaa, back then when you are living abroad, you are really “abroad”....communication was only through letter. travelling and holiday was not that common. so you will really miss Malaysia...like a lot. of course, food mostly. unexpectedly, songs and tv shows. ironically, cheap stall foods that we are having almost every day for breakfast become novelty delicacies abroad. i remember having mee hoon only for special occasion in U.K...here, right now, i could’t care less....

I'm Malaysian and my advice, if you think it is too spicy, then mix it with chicken flavoured Maggi. You'll get same flavour profile with lower spiciness. Either pour in 1 pack curry + 1 pack chicken, or just 1 pack of noodle with half curry + half chicken seasoning. Give it a try
This is how i cook:
A packet of maggi + garlic&onions +3-5 cili padi (a must) + egg + curry powder! mmuahhhh
for me as malaysian. maggie curry is like baby maggie for me..hehehe..its not spicy AT ALL..i normally go with some cili padi inside..haha idk how they'd handle maggie pedas giler :D

Malaysian watching this: pathethic. Crack an egg on the broth. It makes it less spicy. If u wanna go fancy. Sautee some onions, garlic, chicken, some vege and then throw in the pack spice with water and once it boil, throw in the noodle. Boil for 1 minute and thatsss is maggie mee level 1000 there.

Nak lagi sedap meggie kari ni .. pertama tumis bawang merah,bawang putih sampai bau wangi.. lepas tu rempah meggie tu letak air sedikit supaya tak berketul, gaul2 sampai tak berketul2 lepas tu masukkan kedalam tumisan bawang tadi sehingga bau wangi 😍 lepas tu masukkan air secukupnya ( nak masukan sayur sawi / sayur-sayuran lain pun boleh ikut cita rasa sendiri) biarkan air dan sayuran tu masak/mendidih masukan meggie bagi meggie tu masak lepas tu telur sebijik atau dua 😍 ( nak telur hancur pun sedap juga,masa masukkan telur terus hancurkan 😍) hanya cadangan saja 😊 saya suka tengok kumar family ni.. 😊 semoga sihat sentiasa
