So much better having stuff like this than video games. Also very informative video instructions, thank you!

how did you deal with the swing load?
      types of screws to use?

@@whythissucks829 my husband’s an engineer, and we over did all the supports. I’m pretty sure we used 3 inch screws in every stud (sorry for the late response)

I love the setup. Any chances you can send me where you got the rock climbing wall holds?

Super Helpful! Plan to do this for my grand kids! Love the rock wall too! Where did you get that nice thick landing pad? They seem to be much more expensive than i thought they would be...

Sorry for the late reply - our landing pads are actually part of a Nugget play couch

Trying to do this for our kids in our basement and I have a question about the direction of the bars, I can only seem to find the same style of bars that you have in this video but I am pretty sure they are meant for an outside set where you would install the bars from the top (so as the kids swing on them the screws are facing down into the structure). I can not seem to troubleshoot this problem well and I see you installed them from the bottom, I am worried if we do this that over time the bars will get yanked out due to use. Has this been a problem you have had at all with the bars getting loose?

We came across the same thing while researching. We looked for another style, and we found some that attach to horizontally to the inside of the boards, but they were a bit more expensive. These ones are holding up great though and we haven’t noticed any problems. It helps that every screw is into a 2x4, so it’s pretty solid

how do you know that its structurally safe? id like to do this but im curious about the horizontal load on the wall

Yeah we watched other tutorials to get an idea, then we put more screws into the studs than was necessary. My husband’s an engineer and knows more about weight load and structural stability, and he was confident we overdid it. We’ve had the rock wall up 2.5 years now and not a single issue

What screws/bolts did you use to get the 2x4 into the ceiling joints?

    • @taylorstuds

We did pocket holes then I believe 3 inch screws into each ceiling joist
