Hey Nicol! Think your channel is so awesome and love the awareness you're spreading! I have question for you! How do you feel about the terms "wheelchair-bound" or "restrained to a wheelchair"? I personally believe these are offensive because I do not see a person in a wheelchair as "bound" or "restrained". What other phrases would you suggest using instead?
Kate DeVoe thanks for watching Katie! And great question! Personally I don't like when people say that I'm confined to a wheelchair, because I don't see it that way. I view my wheelchair as my freedom & independence. Definitely will talk about this in another video!
Kate DeVoe also I would use phrases like, "she uses a wheelchair" because at the end of the day I'm a person before my disability.
