Anirudh literally is the flag bearer of millenial music in Tamilnadu. I honestly think he is underrated, but we Tamilians, especially the middle aged ones, usually have a habit of not praising our talents toooo much, so that they don't take it to their head. We praise them silently, so they stay grounded and keep giving us great F***ing music. Rahman was underappreciated by a lot of our people, when he started out too. Tamilnadu has presented great musical talents to Indian music like, Rahman, Ilayaraja, SPB, Janaki and Harris. I really believe that Ani will earn his place in this list soon.
We do appreciate him. But he is yet to bring variety in his songs. He is known for his fast beats. He background score is getting better. But he has not made otherworldly songs yet. But I am sure he will.
1:17 Anirudh is in great form in recent times and I would suggest listening to the Vikram movie album! One of his best this year. Also the background score is yet to be released officially, which is a masterpiece as well
