@@leepatrick9432 he always talks Newcastle down, at the time they were fighting for champions league and broke there transfer record to buy him, tens of thousands of fans came to see him sign. He refused to play some games incase he got injured and couldn't sign for another team, important games that could of helped us stay up. he was on 100k a week in the mid 2000s which was alot. After he retired he's wrote loads about Newcastle, he even refused to be a pundit at St James becuase the fans don't like him 😂. He said alot in his autobiography. Also when he was refusing to play for Newcastle shearer was manager and they fell out and Newcastle fans will always be on shearers side.

Bear in mind newcastle were a champions league team at this time. They had broken the world record transfer fee for Owen like they'd done for shearer not too long before that. They were massive at that time. A pure powerhouse. Thousands upon thousands came just to greet and welcome him and he still, to this day is the most ungrateful player I've ever heard. So selfish. Wouldn't even play for his former teammate and friend Alan shearer in a relegation deciding match because he didn't want to risk injury for England, and also quite obviously because he knew relegation would be his ticket out of the club. Soulless and cowardly. He could have been remembered as an all time great but he tarnished his own legacy so badly.
