  • I WENT TO GO INSTALL MY NEW KLOCK WERKS 9" SPORT FLARE WINDSHIELD AND I COULDNT TAKE OUT THE SCREWS. THE ANCHOR THAT IS IMBEDDED IN THE PLASTIC FRAME WAS SPINNING WITH THE SCREW, SO I WENT TO HARLEY AND PICKED UP SOME NEW ANCHORS. I SHOW YOU HOW I INSTALLED THEM. I HAD TO TAKE OFF THE ENTIRE FRONT FAIRING. ON MY 2020 ROAD GLIDE SPECIAL

John, when you put in the new bolts make sure that you put anti-seize on the threads so you don't have that issue again.

Great video! The same thing happened to me, on the same two mounting points. I almost went the route you did but was able to save the brass inserts and run a tap in to fix the threads. Those rubber M5 Wellnuts fit a M5 0.8 pitch screw. I keep some on hand to fix my Ducati.

A very comprehensive video. And very well done. I don't know why Harley doesn't go to an electric adjustable windshield. A lot of what you had to deal with in that video. You wouldn't have had to deal with on an Indian. Thanks for sharing with us.

I have the same exact bike you have, and I tried to put the spike bolts from kuryakyn once over the same windshield and immediately noticed they did not fit properly, the tread wasn’t the same for some reason or like ur saying, the metals weren’t the same who knows. In my opinion they are garbage. Now seeing ur video I’m glad I did not put them. Btw Great content, best regards from Miami, Fl

If the holes don't line up loosen the fairing screws till the holes line up for the windshield then install windscreen first then tighten the fairing bolts.

I installed the black spikes on mine also, they went in very snug after seeing this I may have the same issue if I try to take windshield off. Maybe those spikes threads are made off spec a bit.

Very nice, I have my bars inline with my forks. So improved slow speed control and over all riding comfort on my 2018 RoadGlide. Where did you get your primary cover? What was your AFSC ? I carried a dual AFSC, 81150A and 81250A. The A was for K9

So that nut is the same as its always been for the sportbikes....on a sportbike fairing the rubber piece is actually outside the windscreen :P And as another Hammerhead owner, I think they look like the curves of a VERY SEXY lady! LOLZ
