Because moon is dark on amavasya and depression is possible hence on Amavasya black should be avoided since black is protecting but also leads to depression when the moon is dark on amavasya.

Sir there is no connection to weekdays and astronomical movements. The assignment of planets to days of weeks is random and has no astronomical and astrological significance. Hence rahu kala is also random.
