Raleigh's greenway system is the oldest in the state, has over 100 miles of trails, and is among the best in the nation. Future plans for the system include adding 100+ miles of trails in the next 30 years.

Cary is so large that it is kind of like a city in that different areas within Cary have a very different feel. I also think downtown Cary will feel quite different in 10 years as more construction happens with taller and more distinct buildings, so downtown Cary may become much more of a city feel than a town feel.

I think you are spot on! Cary's population is larger than many other areas in NC that call themselves cities, like Asheville or Wilmington. In NC, there is no legal definition for town vs city. The language is just whatever the area decides to call themselves. Interesting that Cary stuck with town, though it makes it sound more quaint haha! Downtown Cary has a lot of change coming its way in the next decade for sure. This new park will be a huge step in that direction! Thanks for taking the time to share and watch!

You forgot GREAT, beautiful, large shopping centers in Cary like Waverly Place, Park West, Stone Creek Village and the older Cross Roads Plaza. Plus, near Fenton another soon to be shopping center similar to Fenton is being built around the Epic development and on the border of Cary and Apex is the large Beaver Creek Commons outdoor mall.

I love both Cary and Raleigh but I prefer Raleigh because it has more identity more of a downtown but I think Cary is trying to make there downtown big to I saw they put in a parking deck

Raleigh definitely has a larger downtown with more to see, eat and do! Yes the parking deck will be next to the new Cary Park that should be opening soon downtown!

Quite honestly you can be 5 minutes away from Raleigh if you live over near wakemed soccer park. A lot of people won’t understand how close they actually are until they come here

Cary is not a suburb its a city if it was a suburb it would be on the outskirts of Raleigh but still in the city limits and it would be a neighborhood like Brier creek
