  • I really want to like this rifle. The Savage Minimalist. It's a MKII but with a laminated stock. Why do the other MKII rifles shoot so much better? I will continue to test and troubleshoot and see if we can figure something out. I absolutely love Savage and their rifles are typically very accurate especially for the price. What gives?

There is something seriously wrong with that rifle. What I can't understand, here in Europe when you buy a rifle you get a test target with the rifle, that has been shot at the factory. Don't Savage test their rifles before they sell them?

That's pitiful. I have the same rifle in 22mag. 1 inch groups at 50yds. I would change the scope to eliminate that possibility. Maybe it needs recrownned. Or just send it back. I recently bought a Bear Creek Arsenal BC 201 22lr Rifle. Match grade bull barrel. It's a 10-22 clone. Constant light strikes 5 out of 10 shots. Using match grade ammo. Eley, SK, Lapua, RWS etc. Very poor 5 shot groups at 50yds. I couldn't get under an inch. That's with 3 different high power scopes. I sent it back to Bear Creek Arsenal. Along with a link to the video. They sent it back saying nothing is wrong with it. They sent Along a target with a 2 inch 7 shot group 🤣

Possible the scope itself is bad? Only other time I have seen something that bad was when the v-block came loose on a 10-22 and the barrel started to fall out. ALSO: check your can for baffle strikes, maybe the bore was drilled non-centric and so the can is the problem.

Good idea. I’ll check the can. I’m out of scopes at this point to switch lol. I can take one off of something but I’m pretty confident this scope at least isn’t broken. I would’ve just tossed it I think
