Live Performance Special - Fiber Optics, Coins Across & Remote Bell | 5x5 With Craig Petty
Welcome back to Magic TV. It is a Monday and it's 9pm which means it's time for a 5 x 5.
The concept of this video is simple. Craig talks about five different subjects. He gives himself five minutes to talk about each topic. There is a countdown timer at the bottom of the screen. When the timer hits zero Craig moves onto another topic. 5 x 5 is always quick and snappy and you never know what you are going to get.
This week only, Craig breaks down six different subjects instead of five.
In this week's 5 x 5 Craig covers the following topics:
1. You see another live performance this time of Fiber Optics by Richard Sanders. This is a multiphase rope routine where a 3 ropes connect and separate in different places.
2. You see the same routine but this time with a commentary track over the top of the performance.
3. You see another live performance, this time of Coins Across. This routine is the first phase of Craig's Monster Coin Routine and involves moving coins from his hands, directly into the hands of the spectator!
4. You see the same routine but this time with a commentary track over the top of the performance. He discusses making moves in the off-beat and how to perform a good coin on shoulder move.
5. You see another live performance, this time of the Remote Bell. This is a trick that involves a bell on a rope which can find a spectators card out of a set of cut piles as the bell rings when over the correct cut that the card is in,.
6. You see the same routine but this time with a commentary track over the top of the performance. Craig talks about creating routines for tricks, theming a routine to a certain event & how to direct focus onto revelations.

I got my Pro Caps on Friday and tried them out last night at a bonfire dinner we have in our neighborhood. I did end up getting called out twice on the caps in the four times I performed it. I knew they wouldn’t pass inspection or anything like that and I knew they didn’t exactly match a normal bottle cap, but that seemed to be thinking like a magician. I wouldn’t say it was magician’s guilt because I hadn’t read your post yet so I was highly confident going into the night. My last performance of the trick got the strongest reaction of the night but afterwards I almost knocked the gimmick off the table and my neighbor’s aunt said, “Oops. Don’t lose your special cap.” I was very tempted to toss it in the fire and say “Oh there’s nothing special about it.” But I chickened out at the end.

As always, I learned a lot. I think you are right that the Coins Across works just great in a walk-around setting, and the jumbo coins get a strong reaction. So I may be learning this one before long. Thanks!
