    This was awesome, can you also do a vid for wonder battle comps and phals/wedges? Same concepts but applied in a different way. As someone who has all the wonder research, but hasnt messed around with wonder battles really since they were blast oriented, I would love a rundown of how to possibly get back into it

      In wonder battles, it's ideal to do a mix composition in range phalanx. A popular comp for wonder battles is a 4/2/4 mix, which is 40% inf/20% range/40% cav in a range phalanx formation

      @@StyxOG_ I've never heard of a 946, but a 442 is the counter to a 424. But yeah, I agree on someone making a video on it. As far as I know though, it's all rock, paper scissors, so send more of what counters whatever and such, but it's tricky in a mix due to there being a lot more happening.

      I recommend you get to Castle Lv25 as soon as possible because you'll unlock everything in the game, and you'll grow much faster. Trust me, coming from 6 years of experience in the game

    just wondering what the comp would be I'm guessing that you would need more troop as buffers lol?

      You'll need just a minimum of 4 of each buffer. Don't use a large amount of troops for buffers because they die instantly, and it'll contribute to your morale loss. They are meant to temporarily hold the enemy back for a couple seconds and waste their initial hero squad atk abilities

    Good informative video Aev! Regarding the inf blast in inf phal, do you suggest to not put any buffer in that case since it's going to be at the frontline anyway?

      Hey Langer,
      I'm not him but I do suggest putting buffers because they do help a lot with the walk back after your Infantry is all dead. The ranged buffer can also take some hits from the enemy siege to protect your siege, increasing the walkback rate.

      @@crystalbriefs Awww they would serve the same purpose as pre blast buffers, but now instead they would be post blast buffer to increase the chance of walk back by stretching the combat time...?

    I honestly believed that wedge was only an option for range - mainly because range on spawning in inf wedge, does not move, letting the cav behind it become a buffer while focussing the range into two groups rather than 4 as you said. This means range will be targeted third in an inf phalanx, and third in an inf wedge.
    In the case of cav, this doesn’t work as well because cav will get targeted second when in a range wedge, but third in a range phalanx. This means you give up a 4 squads of inf buffers in exchange for targeting 2 instead of 4 range squads.
    Good explanation on infantry though! I’ve seen some data that believes that infantry in range wedge has a better chance of walking back, but I am also an infantry phalanx enjoyer.

      It's still viable to use to range wedge for a cavalry attack, especially when your opponent is in range phalanx. You'll be able to cut through half the range and straight into the infantry. All the buffers don't have to be utilized when the ideal scenario is to counter your opponent.

      @@taiguy53 If you counter them, any formation will do well. buffers will stop the range volleys from decimating your cav prematurely though. I truly believe the additional line of 4 squads of buffers is more important than cutting up 2 of the range squads instead of 4.

      @@Hobbitcraft In the end, your cav will be running into range. It's better to cut through as soon as possible to get to the infantry than having to deal with all the range. In the end, you're being countered and cav doesn't the least amount of damage to the range, not to mention you'll just end up losing more morale the longer your cav is still against the range. Coming from 6 years of experience man.
      The extra buffers you'll get from the infantry will only block an extra 1-2 hits from the range, and that's just the start of the battle. The rest will just be your cav, so pushing for the counter, dealing more damage, and dropping their morale faster is more ideal

      @@taiguy53 If someone is online and switching their front to counter you, you will not go through their range anyway. You will not get to the infantry. Therefore the buffers seem better.

      @@Hobbitcraft If they're online, of course, but let's keep it in the idea that they are offline just for simplicity. Again, that will only protect your cav from 1 or 2 hits from the range. In the end, you're being countered and the defenders always have the advantage. As the attacker, it is in your best interest to deal as much damage as possible in every attack you send. You'll lose less troops trying, and you'll maximize the amount damage you do and troops they lose. In this case, it's countering them. The buffers just delay the inevitable.

      Minimum of 4, because it gets split into 4 respective squads. You really only ever need 4 though because they die instantly. Any higher is useless, and too high of a count will hurt your morale mid fight and you'll be more prone to a loss

      2 squads are sent a little back and they will not kill range that good if its counter

      Inf phal is better because all your inf squads will hit at the same time rather than 2 hitting first, while the other 2 need a second to walk up. You'll be able to deal more damage the sooner all your troops hit
