      Garp Glip Back in 2007 during the elections there was a writer's strike which meant that all their shows were affected without writers. To combat this Conan, Colbert and Jon made a fake-feud over who 'made' Huckabee, the frontrunner for the Republican Nomination (which was won by John McCain if I'm not wrong). All sorts of hilarious moments were included as 3 of the best comedians in time fought over who 'made' Huckabee. "Jon made Conan and Colbert" was one of the many many jokes done by the trio. Idk why people always make late night host interactions into a competition, this was a nice interaction between Stephen and Conan. What is with all the "Colbert is a bad interviewer" or "Colbert is rude" stuff just because he let Conan do the talking? sometimes it's appropriate to let the guests be themselves. Especially as someone who doesn't watch Conan all that often, this gave me more insight on him and I really enjoyed his stories.

    • @IPOCRI
      @IPOCRI Před 6 lety

      well no one is complaining that he lets him talk but comments about him. colbert told him that the cameras were cut off of his horse story but he said in a more serious way almost condescending attiude towards conan. just seems rude to me because he said it with a serious tone. or colbert called him a common fool also in a condescending way

    Seriously, writing a good comedy skit or show is a lot harder than making a drama show. Comedy is difficult to comprehend than why we cry on a mushy romantic and dramatic scene. Thanks Conan (and Stephen, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver and Bill Maher; and Trevor) for the COMEDY!

      To be fair, comedy in the current day is just late night show hosts saying what Trump said or did, and us laughing.
      The jokes basically write themselves. The only problem is the joke is always on us, and will be until somebody impeaches the orange.
      (Btw this isn't to say none of the hosts you mentioned aren't funny yadda yadda, watch and love them all, and adding Seth Meyers to the list.)

      If we're talking about movies and shows, I think that the hardest style to master is horror/ thriller. You can make dumb comedy and still make people laugh. I remember Conan in the car with Jordan in Italy making farting sounds through a speaker and laughing hysterically. Even Jordan was cracking up. But good horror is hard to find.

    How does Colbert not know how to segue from comedy genius to "the end"???
    This is one area where Carson was a master. Rodney Dangerfield would do a few minutes of stand-up, sit down with Johnny and do more stand-up. Johnny sat, listened, laughed and played straight man and always knew how to bring it to a close.
    Stephen will get there someday.

    Read through the comments. This is Colbert in a true no win situation. If he adds to the conversation too much he's interrupting and doing a "Fallon". If he just lets Conan run with his stories, he's "out of it" and not adding to the conversation. I enjoyed the two of them. It was good enough for me.
