still receiving regular updates and no problems faced in the hardware or software part...
I love this machine. It's just that mine is an intel i5-4th gen model so its no where near to the level of m1 but still such a performance from such an old machine.....That's absolutely amazing!....
I think you are also gonna have an excellent time with this machine and it will definitely last you 5-6 years no problem.....

For mouse it is a no brainer to just use a bluetooth mouse....!! works good most of the times..........but let me warn you mac m1 gives lots of trouble wrt wifi & bluetooth connectivity...its a common issue with these first generation m1 chipsets

Desktop linux also can be very smooth and better than windows but the main problem with linux is developer design its distribution in their way.
And every thing is free and open source thats why no direct income to its developers.
Bhai, macOS is Darwin based UNIX. It is open-source means it is even more open than windows (which is a closed system). So cracks are more likely to be available. Real issue is windows has more software developed and available due to its larger user base, server and office integrations. Alongside games, they are developed mainly for windows because...xbox and why not!

Get a Bluetooth mouse. No USB dongle needed. I use Logitech MX Master 2s, it’s incredibly good.
I'm using one from Lenovo. It's pretty good and matches the colour of the air.

Not needed. Its not a touch screen that you'll touch it again and again. Secondly, unlike a phone, its screen will never touch your table or anything metallic. Adding a protector will just ruin your viewing experience

Also don't buy too costly dock because all works the same and you won't need it much if you don't use usb mouse

I just switched to mac not latest one but older late 2012 macbook pro but still this one feels me super powerful compare to windows lap & build quality is next level, you will feel when you will use macbook track pad even after several years.
Yes the inly issue is like few soft are inly made for windows & as i am in it i can feel that the issue but you will find its alternatives gradually
The biggest con of switching win to mac is your external HDD will not work (you can read but you can not write as it will be NTFS partition) so you need to format in exFat & then it will work but again that exFat will not work in android tv
