Assess your Bell's Palsy with the Yanagihara facial paralysis scale. It rates ten facial expressions on a 0, 2, or 4 scale. Add up your score to gauge the severity of your condition. Scores between 40-20 are minor, 18-10 are moderate, and below 8 is severe.
Don't forget to check your progress every week to monitor any changes. Even if it's discouraging, staying positive can help. Research shows 85% of people recover within six months, so staying proactive is key to avoiding permanent facial paralysis.
If you're dealing with Bell's Palsy, whether it's been a while or just happened, it's crucial to act fast to improve and speed up your healing process.
And if you're interested, we offer acupuncture at our clinic to help reduce inflammation, restore nerve function, and improve communication between your nerves and facial muscles.
