Thank you for this, it was very helpful, especially the speed comparison. My son had a fire 7 and it was painfully slow, even for a six year old. We’re definitely going with the 10 pro for him now.

I love that you can control the age content, block certain apps and videos, and free storage space with apps that haven’t been used in a while. This tablet has assisted my son’s learning in so many ways. We love it!
Yeah that’s true! Sometimes that 30-45 minutes of screen time is SO helpful.

Really nice review. Thank you. I had bought the regular hd 8 ones for my three kids and then I saw the "pro" version, I felt I had not made the right decision. However, now I saw your review, I feel reassured I made the right decision, since my kids are small and the case for the regular ones would be more suitable for them.

Fire HD Pro shows $139 on Amazon, not $200. Did they reduce the cost or you were mentioning Canadian dollars?

I have both 10 and 10plus, the main difference is that 10plus have wireless charging, slightly faster processor and 4gb RAM (memory) while the 10 don't have wireless charging have slower processor and 3gb RAM. That mean if you want a little faster experience and being available to charge wirelessly go for the plus. I do notice the difference in speed in them and that the plus is available to handle more apps at the same time before slowing down. Hope this help
This is related to the pro vs non pro versions. The plus version you mention is not available in a kids protective case like these models. So your comment is misleading as both pro and non pro have same ram. Yes plus has more but is only available as a tablet without case and kid friendly features

I have a question 🙋🏻♀️ i have had bought 2 fire hd 10 not kid version in the past for my 3 year old and a year old. My biggest problem is that they have so much advertisements and specially when i have to click on certain apps and videos for them theres tons of advertisements is that normal? Or is it because its not kid version tabelt?!? Plz help i need a tablet that has no advertisements when clicking on certain apps or games etc. its driving me nuts plz help

I believe the difference is that the Pro is designed for older children. What I did notice is when you purchase these fire tablets they go by age, 3-7 and 6-12 years old. The case and display are different depending on the age. I guess because they are older they don't drop or bang it as much. Lol, maybe. The non-pro tablet has a screen that shows pictures so the child knows what they want to playjust by looking at the picture, the older kids tablet has words along with the picture. The speed on the pro is faster as well. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Difference is not just in the case but also in the hardware. There are obvious differences in hardware capabilities that's why one is faster than the other.

The difference in screen res quality between the 8 and 10 is like night and day
Does it comes with CZcams, Netflix?
no. But you can use the code that you create so your child can't access the regular parent tablet, go into the app store, download if you haven't, sign in because children can't sign into streaming services or learning apps from the kids side, go into parental controls, add content: let's say I want Disney and ABC Mouse for my kid...I choose the apps, I hit done, I go back to the child's fire tablet screen and they have everything they need.
You can also do this with CZcams videos as well: Let's say I want..a Blippi Video for my child that hasn't come out yet...I hit add videos from the web in parental controls: youtube comes up, I would search or tap for the video my kid wants and when it starts to play a green button at the top comes up and you hit that...and that puts the video on your child's screen.
I hope this is helpful. (Oh and this works for all generations of Fire Tablets for kids: I have bought the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro for my now 6 year old daughter as a birthday present, I have bought the HD 7 Kids for my now 3 year old. He got that when he turned 2. It's their previous Fire 7 Model...so it should work!!!)🥰God Bless.
