Good suggestions Raincentral! Keeping your hands away from the cleat (preferably with no rings or gloves) is a great point. If the hook would have failed and dropped the boat at 1:34, I'm sure the bow-lineman would have lost a few digits. Keep up the good work!
Would be beneficial to have men through down to hook guide line from the launch deck and a attaches to the Rawlings hook straight on this will prevent to boat from swing a bout on recovery (Bow and stern.) you got full control of the boat swing.right in to its cradle .
You don't understand the importance of sea painter. It should be tight by rigging it to the cleats or bitts and not by hand. Release first the hook and match the course and speed of the parent vessel, and finally release the painter.
Keep your hands farther from the cleat, ware your work vest, and sea painters work just as well for launch as recovery. There. I helped.
