omg, I didn't realize at first, that the Barry White music was actually playing for the flies. I thought it was just edited into the video to be funny. This is like a real life version of that Simpson's episode where they used Barry White to lure snakes. They responded to the vibrations just like the flies in this video!
I loved that episode when homer went all Bruce Lee! It’s called whacking day.
who's bright idea was it to play Barry white's song in the love shack?....
Clevon Forrester I believe that it was my idea. www.pyramidpurefoods.com/blog/page/3/
I don't know. Who idea was it to drink the white, milky substance that excretes from a lactating cows tit? Humanity is just down right strange.
To be honest, we the growing human population, soon we won't have a choice but to have more GM of animals and plants. we have no choice

It's only a matter of time until you're complaining to your waiter that there are no flies in your soup >v>
By process of elimination, they found that Barry White's music produced the optimal mating rate. "Can't get enough of your love babe" now plays on repeat 24/7
This is the most educational piece from here, I feel. I really enjoyed this video
Educational but still slightly abit of propaganda, if you didnt noticed yet, the country right below the States is also a well known insect eater country. Talking that western world is not comfortable with consuming insects..... And as I know during the 3 months study in Shanghai last year, I hardly see any of those gross insect meals. But when I was in France and Germany, Snails and all sort of creepy sea creatures. I'm open for any comments. Greetings from Norway

This was made 4 years ago and I've never watched any videos like this why is it it my recommended now?
Because CZcams is a strange place and I just got this. I watched it and I have no idea why. I'm heading over to conspiracy CZcams to see if there's a theory about this.
It's gootube's newest big brother agenda showing video which sell the finite resource propaganda as they remove videos and delete accounts of great works which expose the truth about the UN, about climate change, and one world order under the guise of hate speech.
They don't want you to know anything which is the truth, we're putting a kink in their new world order. Worth watching before it's gone no it's not mine... Why Big Oil Conquered The World - czcams.com/video/0wlNey9t7hQ/video.html

Hah, the BSF farming is quite interesting. I actually started a research project on it back in 2006. It didn't go far as it was just myself and another student with no academic leadership, but the research was solid. We just didn't have the resources or long term involvement to see it through at the time. we did build a full greenhouse, larva beds, and started a colony. Our end goal was to produce biofuel actually and that is where it ran out of steam.
I'm playing Barry White right now, waiting for my wife to hear it. It's on like sugar cookies!
@marwanmohd1 what does his wife being black or not have to do with anything? Race doesn't matter!
Fishermen have been using black soldier fly larvae forever. They're excellent bait. Some raise their own by feeding them vegetable scraps, which has little odor.
I had been using them for composting and they honestly work great.
The first 80% of this video: "Aaww they're raising little fly larvae to feed the fish."
The end: "THEN WE TURN THE MAGGOTS INTO PELLETS." D:
These people could also sell the maggots as fish bait for extra money.
Damisha Owais There is a difference between sustainable profit and absolute profit. Learn a bit.

@@msheart2 it's clear, that it's the brainwashed, greenwashed fee simple minded allows psychopaths to get away with the scam that is climate change as they're engineering our weather and climate create floods and droughts to minimize food production, steal our groundwater, mandate their toxic DNA altering vaccines, destroying food crops with gmo as they use it to sterilize millions,

It makes me so happy to see, whenever somebody out here, trying to contribute with sustainable food growing. :-))
wouldn't the fish eat the whole maggot without the need to process them?
yeah they probably would, when you go course fishing there is no problem with the fish eating them, why not just give them as maggots
Yes and no. Farm fish are raised from birth to plate size, so the small fry or fingerlings is not going to able to swallow the whole maggot. Commercial pellet feed range from powder to about 1/4 size.
probably because they want to add filler like cheap soy and corn to make more food and more money.
I grow these here in Lake County Florida I think it's a wise decision to get into this because you can do so many things with black soldier flys they can break down any kind of manure like a dairy farms chicken farms....
You’ve changed my mind set.....no more job searching
For some reason, the thought of fly evolving into something more scary just hit me.
I love how Glen tries to introduce the Love Shaq with a straight face lol
I can't even look at a maggot without squirming but this guy can have them wiggling about on the palm of his hand. 😯😯😯
The nice and timely idea, no doubt...!
What an awesome problem solving method. Food waste becomes food for the larva which become an affordable food source for fish which becomes a more viable food source for people. Amazing innovation.
the Berry White song for the fly "love shack" killed me
CZcams recommendations bring us all here in warmth and gentle tiding
I believe everyone knew that fish ate insects from the jump but, there are feeder insects like crickets, mealworms, waxworks, roaches. And there are feeder fish, rodents, and lizards that are breed to be fed to other animals. And I have freeze dried mealworms that I feed to my Tegu and the bottle says “Freeze Dried Mealworms for birds, reptiles, and fish” so just feed the fish plain insects live or dead.
My thoughts as well.
Although I assume that freeze drying and processing them makes them more shelf stable for selling to a larger market.
By making them into pellets they can add other vitamins and its easier for a farm to order bulk pellets and have them for the next year instead of ordering bulk larvae and having half of them pupating into flies in a month
Mixing them with corn and soy makes the pellets cheaper it’s like cutting cocaine with baking soda
You telling me that they mate thanks to music omg I'm so done 😂😂
In villages, we dump all the cattle dung on one place, and when we free our chickens, they immediately run towards that pile of dung for feeding. Where thousand of flies larve , earthworm, beetle larve and more importanty the undigested seeds. So for us the waste pile of cow dung is the perfect food for chickens

I don't think that is how it was made. I would have to go rewatch the old movie first but I don't think that they used flies
I live really close to Yellow Springs.. great place to visit, nice to hike around!
You are a genius my friend. now we can be one step closer to saving the small fish from the ocean
Insects don’t have omega 3 which fish oil has and needed in fish food. But the best opportunity now is coming from algae. Just like naturally where omega 3 comes, it has omega 3 fish loves it and is sustainable.
You can even use them to break down the agricultural wastes to turn into biomass...
@BEYOND BIRTHDAY It will barely retain any of the original Omega 3s after being so heavily processed. People have no idea what they eat nowadays. Farmed fish does not have the same nutritional values as their wild counterparts. Half of the labels are FULL OF SHIT AND LYING. The studies were made on special selected individuals not on the 98% rest fed with food coloring to make their meat look red. Look it up.
@@RheeasDomain lying on a food label is literally a crime, i dont think anyone can fool this many people liek that without getting caught.
so epically clever, using consistent waste to support the creation of new food
I think this is such an amazing experiment. Know this is an old video but really hope the guy got to where he wanted to be...
Also the Barry White killed me! 😂😂😂
What if you could get rid of your septic system and have these guys take care of the waste? That waste can be fed to worms, and you know I love to fish.
depends on what kind of waste you are feeding. If you just feed these larvas random waste that could spell disaster as some of those insects may be carrying disease which can be carried over to animal hosts.
easy like
Brilliant... and good choice in music lol

It doesnt have Omega 3 so it cant replace fish meal. But would be a good source of food for birds.
For fish micro algae should be used.
Sounds very clever. Good idea.
the real lord of the flies
5:21 "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
What is the cost per ton of production? Is it actually practical?
They're eating food waste thrown away from farms, households etc, so its cost efficient. And since people simple DEMAND all the fish they can inhale, you could say yes.
It would be more "practical" to just eat the soldier fly larvae though, or stop throwing away as much food.
Considering we are emptying the oceans of fish, is it actually practical to NOT do this? We will have to start looking to insects if we are to feed the world population. And it might even be as a protein source for humans. Chewing on a worm might not be too tempting, but in the shape of a burger, does it really matter as long as it is juicy and tasty? ;)
It's nice to know that Barry White's love can even transcend the species barrier 💞😹💞
This was on my recommendations and for some reason I just clicked on it
I love to watch your Video. I live in Indonesia and also grow BSF traditionally. I am interested in visiting your place and learn from you about how to use BSF in densely populated regions such as like Java in order to solve the problems in relation with environmental pollution and producing protein at the same time. Thank you.
Absolute mad lads
This seems like a great idea. I can see a hundreds of these big factories all over America. It seems like a risky business, but if done correctly I can see it making a lot of profit and a way to benefit the country or world. They should also create fish manure soil, that way they can broaden whatever they're suppyling.
fun fact: fish meal used to feed some farmed fish uses ethoxyquin as a preservative...this poison builds up in their flesh in alarming levels.
gaaaahh farmed salmon tastes so good tho....

What's with the hate of GMOs? It's scaring people away, making them think they make radioactive waste or something
Ya Boi Yeah..... people do think its radioactive and so...... in other words believes in fake science...
Ya Boi - personally I don't like GMOs because of the companies behind them like Monsanto. I'm neutral on GMOs themselves though I think they're a large reason for increased food allergies. If you cut DNA from nuts to wheat, ppl allergic to nuts might now be allergic to wheat. And if they've been made with pesticide-like qualities, how can we say that they might not also irritate some people's internal digestive tract?
I'm curious what you dislike about Monsanto. Are you against capitalism and free enterprise?
Cyber Pleb Monsanto does some real scummy practices, it's not about making money it's how they do it. They exploit farmers and try to fuck them over, they are one of those evil companies that just wrecks lives for profit.
Whats with the hate of us hating GMOS? Is it parasitic trying to use your little brain to spread to me?
