- You can't deny that there are some really bad characters in the Sonic universe, but you can't deny that there are some really good ones that don't get enough credit. So WiiDude83Rebirth is here with me to put some light on our favorites and throw our hated characters into the darkness. Enjoy!

@Gabb kuzle generations the boss battle was really cool, the voice is annoying yes but it dosnt make the character cringe... silver is really cool because of the potential he has and silver is one of my favorites
@Gabb kuzle i'd honestly peg him as "the hero starting out" where he's not entirely sure of himself but he wants to do good things.
Sometimes, Characters In Depth aggressively defends bad Sonic characters like Amy Rose, Big the Cat, Omochao and Princess Elise III while not defending better Sonic characters. m.czcams.com/video/BeCbyP4nkB4/video.html is one of those exceptions since I like the fact that he’a defended Sonic characters that genuinely deserve better like Silver, Chip, the Chaotix and Blaze.

I honestly didn't expect Elise to be on the list, not because she isn't bad, but because I forgot she existed.
The main reason why Shadow's back to his old self in Sonic Battle is because that, chronologically, Sonic Battle officially comes after Shadow the Hedgehog, which would make even more sense as Rouge even mentions Omega when she's fighting against the E-Series duplicates created by Eggman in her story.

3. Blaze is… alright, but I personally wouldn’t have placed her that high. Better than pretty much all of the characters introduced in Sonic’s dark times though. Also, where did the “My blood… is on FIIIIIIIRRRRRE” voice clip come from? Also, nice Hades reference.
2. I was expecting to see him on the hated list, but I agree. I prefer to treat his game as if it never existed. I gotta say, I love the use of Brawl clips in this countdown. But that’s to be expected when you’re collaborating with a guy who’s part of a Brawl Machinima! Also, love the OrangeJinjo cameo. XD
1. Geez, you made me feel like a total monster with this entry. My only memory of the Chao Garden is this: I wandered in on accident, had no idea what to do, walked out, and never bothered since. I never paid much attention to the Chao, but it’s pretty much undisputed that they’re adorable as heck.

5. I’m surprised he wasn’t higher. Stupid gameplay in SA1, no real redeeming qualities… what a worthless character. So glad he’s being written out of the Sonic universe. Also, how did they get freaking Duke Nukem to voice him?!
4. I’ve never played Rush Adventure, but judging from the clips of dialogue you used… wow. What a brat. “I’m the captain and you have to listen to me even though I can’t do jack!” >:(
3. This guy is solid evidence to support the assertion that Sonic Team has some… questionable people in its studio to say the least. Who thought this (or anything he did) was a good idea?! I love how much solid logic you used against Black Doom. He deserved the bashing so much.
2. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Why does this… *thing* even exist?! All of the information it gives you is only new if you’re either really young or too impatient to read the freaking instruction manual, and it has no redeeming qualities. None whatsoever. I literally know of only one person who likes this thing, and he never bothered to explain why. He should’ve been written out of the Sonic universe faster than your #1.
1. Saw this coming a mile a way. Easily one of the worst characters in all of fictional media. She’s nothing but a useless obstacle who made an already terrible game even more infuriating. And who in the name of Meyneth almighty thought it was a good idea to not only make her devoid of personality to keep the world from being destroyed, but make her a vehicle for a blatant promotion of bestiality?! And then at the game’s very end, the developers use her for one last middle finger by making sure that players rip their hair out for how selfish she acted! *GAH! WHY, SONIC TEAM?!*
Specific entry thoughts aside, you really outdid yourself with this video. The favorites list was unpredictable, the Brawl segments were hilarious, and it was just all-around entertaining as heck. Great job! Also, you made the right call by collaborating with WiiDude for this one. :)

5. Omega- An awesome character, hands down. Do I even need to explain?
4. Blaze the Cat- She's one of the only girls that doesn't obsess over a love interest, and I can only think of a couple characters in this franchise as tough as her.
3. Rouge the Bat- Terribly underrated character. Rouge is a skilled spy who does whatever the hell she wants.
2. Team Chaotix- I cheated, I know. But they're all so awesome in their own ways, and together, they're even better. Espio's a badass ninja, Charmy is a funny 6-year old, and Vector is just...Vector.
1. Knuckles- In newer games, no. But I'm talking about the Knuckles that's a loner and strong, fights for what he thinks is right, and has a bad temper. The guardian of the Master Emerald, he knows what his duty is and will make sure to do it correctly, no matter what the cost.
Worst:
5. Storm- Just a strong guy stereotype. Bland personality. He could've been better, which is why I put him at 5.
4. Black Doom- No, just no. He's lame and unoriginal. His character design is pretty cool. I just wish he had a better personality and story.
3. Elise- I hate the love story between her and Sonic, and why the pathetic princess character?
2. Saffron/All the other girlfriends from Archie that have no purpose other than to love a male character- NO. JUST NO. WHAT IS HER PURPOSE?
1. Julie-Su (Comics)- Julie-Su's a Mary Sue...also, she's Knuckles's "soulmate"...that's cliche, and (like Saffron) the only reason she was created was for a love interest.
SlothGamerGirl I honestly don't read the comics, but if Julie-Su's as bad as the wiki states (typical Mary-Sue things like her entire family being murdered, somehow being a surviving echidna even though Knuckles is supposed to be the only survivor of the clan, being a "soulmate" of a main character as you've said, etc...) then I'll have to agree with you on that one.

This is a very good list, and these reasons for you to love these characters are mine as well, SlothGamerGirl.
Not to mention it’s also Ken Penders’ fault for drastically worsening the Archie Comics (both Sonic & regular Archie before it got even worse by being Riverdale more recently) with characters that mainly exist to be the love interests (re: Julie-Su, Saffron Bee Modern Fiona Fox, Cheryl Blossom, Geoffrey St. John, Ash Mongoose, Betty & Veronica, Reggie Mantle, Amy Rose and yes... even Sally Acorn in Issue 134 if nowhere else) that could either be tsunderes, two-dimensional or both.
XDDDD I'm one of the ones that saw Elise coming. I was like "Hmm, terrible, frustrating, written out of the series as fast as appearing? Must be Elise."

I disagree with one aspect of your list. Omochao isn't one of the worst characters in the series, he's hands down the best villain ever created. Now I know what you're thinking. "Villain? But he helped Sonic saved the world!". Did he? Did he, really? Because last I checked, he spent just as much time in the dark story as he did in the hero. Now why would he do that? Why would that cute little flying robot want to help Eggman conquer the world? Oh, I wish his motives were that innocent, but if they were, then he wouldn't be helping Sonic, now would he? Sadly, he doesn't want world domination. Such things are beneath him. All he wants is to create conflict and destruction. During the fights between Sonic and Shadow, he's giving them both advice on how to kill each other simultaneously, like an arms dealer giving weapons to both sides of the war to fuel his own gains.
Now you're probably thinking "Alright, so Omochao's pretty fucked in the head, but so what? He can't actually hurt anyone. Just ignore what he has to say, and you'll be fine." Oh really? He can destroy 10 foot robots instantly just by flying into them. He can slaughter countless humans just from being fired from a toy gun. That doesn't seem dangerous to you? Well, how about this. I'm sure you figured out by now that Omochao is omnipresent. It doesn't take a genius to figure out. How else could he be in two places in the same stage? How else could he beat Sonic and crew to space when they took a rocket ship? How else can he be helping Sonic and Shadow at the exact same time? What you probably didn't realise, however, is that he has the ability to alter your very perception of reality. You see, in the Sonic vs Shadow boss fight, you never see Omochao helping Shadow from Sonic's perspective. He's only ever giving advice to you. Well okay, so he can turn himself invisible. Still unnerving, but nowhere near as creepy. But then you switch to Shadow's perspective, and suddenly, he's there, in front of you, but not near Sonic. Now how could he be invisible to one person but not to another? It can't be mere invisibility powers, because that would leave you invisible to everyone, not just select people. The only option left is he has the ability to manipulate people's minds directly. He alters Sonic's perception of reality to make him think he's not there. Have you realised what this means yet? He has the power to control people's very thoughts! He could literally be in two places at once, right under nose, pulling your own strings, inside your own head, and you'd never even know. Sonic didn't seem to have any idea he was being manipulated during that boss fight. Did, you, the player? Well if he can do that, then who's to say he didn't manipulate anyone else? How do you know Mephiles was even evil? Maybe he was just another victim to Omochao's sick, twisted mind games. Forced to kill Sonic against his own will, or worse, convinced that it was what he wanted all along. Wouldn't surprise me. Omoachao is a force of complete and utter malevolence, willing to help anyone as long as it means creating more conflict in the world for his own sadistic lust for destruction. And the worst part? He's completely indestructible. Go ahead. Go play SA2. Just try and destroy him. Pick him up, throw him into an enemy. You'll do more damage to the enemy than you ever could to him. And even if you could kill him. Maybe throw him off a cliff, or launch him into outer space, you think that's it? He'll just come right back, completely unphased, that same uncanny grin plastered on his face. Sonic Team may have fooled you into thinking that Sonic and his friends will always triumph over evil, but the true evil will never be destroyed.

Team Chaotix WAS NOT the only team to go to the VIP board in bingo highway. With the other teams, the lasers blocking the path to the board can be shut off by activating a switch on the pinball table right before that section.

I feel that Shadow's story in Sonic 2006 was worth mentioning. Unlike SA2 and Shadow the Hedgehog where he was used by Gerald Robotnik and Black Doom respectively, Sonic 2006 saw Shadow outright dismissing Mephiles' attempt to use Shadow similarly. It also had some climactic bond building between Shadow, Rouge, and Omega.

My Top 15 Sonic Characters:
15. Big - I know... he isn't the best character, but beside his tedious gameplay in the adventure series, he isn't a bad character and is in my opinion better than a few other characters in the Sonic Series *I'M LOOKING AT YOU BOOM KNUCKLES*
14. Vector - Though he is my least favorite Chaotix character, he is still on this list because he is a big part of the Chaotix Team and can be pretty funny at time
13. - Charmy - He is higher than Vector because he is a bit more relatable... to be honest I actually act more like Charmy then any other character
12. Espio - Espio is just plain awesome, take an awesome reptial and a ninja, mix them together and you get Espio
11. Blaze - Though she isn't my favorite Sonic girl, she by far the most badass girl in the series and is Sonic's only female rival
10. The Shadow Chao - Being very obsessed with the chao garden, I just had to put my favorite type of chao on here and the Shadow chao wins this spot
9. Eggman - He is my favorite villian in video game history right in front of Jessie and James from Team Rocket, he has had some great ideas to be honest...
8. Storm - I know... many people do not like the Babylon Rouges but I do... and Storm I have to say is my favorite Babylon...
7. Metal Sonic - My second favorite Sonic Rival.. now Metal Sonic is just plain awesome just look at him, he is still today Eggman's best robot...
6. Sonic From Sonic CD - Does this count? I don't know but I'm adding it anyway.... CD Sonic was plain badass as you can tell by the Sonic CD cutscenses.. I can not get enough from CD Sonic... he is just *SO COOL*
5. Knuckles - Knuckles was my old favorite character for many reasons, but my main reason being because he could glide... my favorite color was red when I was like 5 and that was why I loved Knuckles back then.... it makes me mad that they made Knuckles extremely dumber as each game goes by...
4. Amy Rose - People hate on her too much, I personally like her.. she is the best love intrest for Sonic and though she can be anooying at times, she has a catchy theme song and even goes through character development many times during the series making her a bit lovable..
3. Tails - Ah, another old favorite from when I was like 9, to be honest, i have a bit more nostalgia with Tails than I do with any other character... when I played at Boys and Girls Club, my friends and I would always roleplay as Sonic Characters.... one day instead of being Shadow, I chose to be Tails because we needed to have Tails in the plot and nobody would roleplay as him right... roleplaying as Tails alot and noticing how cool of a character he is made me feel different and eventually led to me roleplaying as him online for a bit... this made him my favorite character for a short period of time...
2. Rouge - This is my favorite Sonic girl and is a very underrated one, I find her to be the most intresting female character in the series, she is strong, can fly, and does whatever the fuck she wants, and I like that... but she aouldn't be on this list if it weren't for my number 1 pick...
1. Shadow - I'm pretty sure you all saw this coming.... but seriously, HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE SHADOW? I thought he was perfect in Sonic Adventure 2... he had character develepoment.. you know that one thing that is used when the developers actually give a fuck... he ended as a great hero in SA2 and I like that, though his own game was bad, it still introduced stuff that made Shadow even more cooler than he already is.... motorcycles and guns in my opinion fit perfectly with Shadow.... though he is rarely used in Sonic games anymore, he will still be my favorite character and in my opinion have the collest design out of any other Sonic character.

Recently, after picking up Team Sonic Racing this past weekend, I decided that Blaze the Cat is my sixth favorite Sonic character. She is polite, elegant, yet powerful. She also happens to be playable in all of the Olympic Games with my five favorites. Needless to say, Blaze mixes two things I like: a cat and the color lavendar (which coincidentally looks similar to Espeon, one of my favorite Pokemon).

This list was spot-on in every way. Personally I'd swap out Gamma with Omega, and add either Erazor Djinn, Silver, Metal Sonic or Chaos to the good list, since you used an entire spot for just a joke, but besides that I have absolutely no qualms with it.
Also, Shadow's best antagonist is probably Mephiles.
I always come back for the Black Doom segment.

A sonic pc game that is called Chao Garden.
This game is a advensed chao garden where you can have 16 chao in a garden. Three gardens and play as chao!
Here is how it works.
When you start or end the game a menu comes up that says play as chao play as character or leave game. You can choses to play as any of your chao. When you play as a chao you can go on races or karaty. As a chao you can when animals or chaos drives. You can also just wonder around he garden eating nuts.
As a character you can play as Sonic, Knucles,Tails Amy, or Shadow. When played as them you can bye items from the black market like animals, chaos drives and normle like market items. More rare animals will cost much more. You can also go on 10 missions where you will get coins. You can sell stuff also.
The characters have all the ablilites they have normily in chao gardens.
Please leave suggesoins i will include them with the plead to Sega if they get unuff likes in 3 weeks from now.
Silver should have been an honorable mention. Great list!~

Whilst I have never played Heroes or Chaotix (need to get on that), I have always loved Team Chaotix. From the small amount of time I have encountered them, I have really liked them.

Shadow's Chaos powers are kind of like the Force. It's not really individual abilities, it's one "do whatever I want through the ability to draw on pure cosmic power to enforce my will" ability that is treated as individual abilities because it's easier to comprehend that way, both for the audience and in-universe for the user.

Don't worry cjszero01. You're not the only one that like Charmy the Bee. I like all 3 characters the same. They're my favorite characters in Sonic. Vector with a cool voice that fits for the animal he is and his detective skills, and he is strong. And nobody can forget the golden chain around his neck. Espio with his badass ninja skills and is also a master of stealth because he is a chameleon after all. So it fits for him being a ninja. And Charmy, even though people hate his whiny voice, I'm ok with it. He is a bee, so his stings really pack quite a punch. With 3 things I like combined, no wonder why these 3 are my favorite characters.
Am I the ONLY ONE who noticed in one of the first episodes of sonic X that shadow appeared in, that when he was shown running away from the museum, he wasn't using the hover shoes and was STILL running at the usual speed they show sonic running in that show? I have a keen eye for detail, and I still can't believe that seemingly NO ONE but me noticed this and acknowledges the fact that shadow can apparently run just as fast as sonic naturally. and you could tell he wasn't using the hover shoes because 1. there was no jet propulsion effect being shown, and 2. he wasn't running as if he was roller skating like he usually does whenever he uses the shoes. Just regular running.

At this point, I think people are unfair to Sega, I mean, come on! They are trying new things, trying to figure out a way to keep the game fresh but not make it a Sonic 3 and Knuckles copy. They are taking advice from the fans(Like with when they stopped with dark stories after the terrible '06) and they are attempting to make the games entertaining but still original. IN FACT, the only game that people liked that they released recently was Generations(I mean recent as in in THIS era), which was a Sonic 3 clone. Then modern levels were given tolerence at the minimum. JUST GIVE CHANGE A CHANCE PEOPLE! STOP BEGGING FOR ANOTHER EA. WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH THEY SUCK.

Well sonic heroes and chronicles were the only game that showed him as good, and even those games added no personality to him. All we really have to go off if is sonic adventure.... I know nothing about sonic adventure though and i forget most of heroes and chronicles, so im pretty much using the only common sense i can muster here

Omochao did have a decent role in Sonic Lost World for offering challenges that provide good rewards but that game wasn't out when you guys were writing this.Also my fanfiction I'm working on called Sonic & the CZcams Legends is gonna include Sticks from Sonic Boom considering Marine a doppelganger. Though Marine will be a robotized minion made by Mariotehplumber & Dr Nega. It also has Black Doom being reincarnated as Nazo with him bringing back the Black Arms. The plot includes the Sonic Boom universe being frozen in time. With Knuckles getting teleported to Mobius to find out what happened.
For some reason, Black Doom reminds me of the Diamond Authorities from Steven Universe.

This is actually explained in the Shadow the Hedgehog game. If you wait about 5 or 10 minutes into the final boss devil doom, Dr. Eggman will tell Shadow that he rescued him with one of his robots.
Blaze goes in my number 1 for favorite character. I'm surprised that they mentioned her super form, but neglected to mention that she's the only female Sonic character to have a canon super form. And one that isn't just her.. getting a ball of aura... Or turning hot pink. I mean she does turn hot pink but.. that's cute on her.

- Silver the Hedgehog: I know that many people hate him because of Sonic 06(especially about his boss fight), can we actually blame him for THAT game? No, we can't. He comes from a chaotic future where theres nothing but ruined buildings and fire, he was tricked by a mysterious figure that say the only way to recover Silver's twisted future is to kill Sonic, but when Silver got his chance to kill the Hedgehog, Amy say that Sonic would never do anything bad, which makes he wonder: "Is killing Sonic the best way to do?". After the events of..."that game" was erased, Silver become a friend...but the damage as done in his reputation.
- Metal Sonic: The first sonic's rival, and a perfect honorable mention. Dr. Eggman (or Robotinik) waaay before Sonic Adventure) created him was a copy of Sonic, but Metal Sonic was so powerful that himself was considering himself was the REAL Sonic and the real Sonic as a fake (You got that Shadow?).
- Jet the Hawk: First introduced in Sonic Riders. You know he could be a better character...if wasn't for the fact that Sonic Riders was ruined by that Kinect Game.....
Now the Dishonorable mentions, for the Hated list:
-Wave the swallow: Just like Jet, she was introduced in Sonic Riders as the Brains for the Babylon Rougues Team, and Storm as the Brawn. Wave is indeed a good character in some terms, but theres one thing thats bothers me: SHE IS A CHEATER!! Remember how Jet wins the Gran Prix in Sonic Riders? She planted a bomb in Sonic's Extreme Gear, exploded right at the finish line and nobody notices it. ILLEGAL, and the fact that Jet hates cheating methods, he didin't realizes that. And in Sonic Free Riders, Jet notices that something was wrong with Team Sonic's Extreme Gears after one of the races, and who did that? Guess who....
-Charmy: First of all, the first time i see Charmy was in Sonic heroes, and when i first see him i though it was a girl. C'MON! THAT THING IS A GUY??? HOW CAN YOU TELL???? Two things bother me about her...i mean..him: The voice and the attitude, just like a energetic child. At least in Sonic Generations SEGA give him a not-so-annoying voice.
