And by the way, he can make his voice like that. Many people thought he altered his voice but he didn't. He has a live version of this song on Jimmy Fallon and he can actually make voice sound like that. Incredibly talented.
It's called singing in falsetto.
Omar Hernandez how bout that Grammy performance
He did alter his voice but he didn't alter the pitch at all. Him singing in falsetto is authentic but he has a filter on his voice to make it sound better or cooler I guess
Not only falsetto to be more exact, i do the same but dont know the name of it , where you constrict your throat a lil bit and it comes out more rough
Falsetto. Head voice essentially, he does the whole song in it. Really good. Adam Levine Maroon 5 does it, Prince, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.
When he says peanut butter chocolate cake with Kool aid he is referring to the relationship.... essentially that they dont go together anymore that's why he follows it up with I'm trying not to waste my time
xDaDa22x I was thinking that or that's his pet name for his girl. Peanut butter chocolate cake seems like it could mean light skin black girl.
I'm out on a limb here but peanut butter chocolate cake could be referring to the skin tone of his girl (brown but light skinned similar to peanut butter and chocolate mixed together) and the cool aid, red being the most popular, representing the red hue/tone hence Redbone. Again. I'm out on a limb. But he says "[My] peanut butter chocolate cake with cool aid" signifying possession. So I interpret it as "My light-skinned black girl with a red hue"
Edit: Law Lawhorn We're on the same page
AfroZenMind Exactly what I have always thought. He's describing a redbone girl. Who knows though. What if the Koolaid is Purple, Blue, or Green.
I thought he was talking about how she sweet she was since peanut butter chocolate cake and kool aid is the sweetest shit ever
It's like orange juice and toothpaste; shit just don't taste right together, and Gambino's trying not to waste his time.
How is there so much talent in one person?
Because some people got tired of the boring monotony, and created future retro.
Mmm Gambino didn't write the song haha, Ludwin Goransson did it he is the talented not childish
Kevin Twin lol, the fact that you think gamblino isn’t talented is nonsensical. Secondly, the song was co-written by both of them. They are both amazing.
hard work :)
@@kevintwin7777 Not talented? *Actor, singer, rapper, comedian, dancer, Dj, producer, director* ... Mhhhmmm🤔🤔
Not gonna lie the first time I heard this song I did not know it was Childish Gambino and I thought it was a female singer hitting that level of pitch. Its astonishing to see how diversely talented Childish is on multiple platforms and how he expands his musicality to broader things man. Good looks on this Reaction/Review Lost In Vegas !!!
Salute Nate!
I thought it was Macy gray 😂
2:05 He hit that shit
Lol
Yup lol
Low key a singer
Juan Rodriguez omm😂💀
Was just watching this, and wanted to see if anyone else caught that. He nailed that note.
I love his voice Prince style for sure
That’s called falsetto
Putting that Bootsy clip in was nice. You guys should do that more often, where you compare the song at hand with something in the past. Or the future if the song your reviewing is older.
Silito the Burrito great comment hope they do this.
2:06 yo that was perfect haha
Y'all are about to make me quit my job and start a music career 10 years too late lol.
Lost In Vegas it’s never too late to be a singer
Wait a minute Mr. Postman.
Dat vocal control! George u need to start singing for real! Plus you like depth in lyrics so I'm sure you would come up with some dope ass lyrics
When he says my peanut butter chocolate cake with coolaid he's talking about her. He's saying that she fits with him like a peanut butter chocolate cake fits with coolaid(meaning it doesn't)
hirschy1103 I feel like he's also referencing her skin color. She's peanut butter cake colored and he's "koolaid" black
Moreno Carlos Yeah it's working the stereotype
@@morenocarlos9928 Nah. “my peanut butter chocolate cake” (black) and “kool-aid” (red) mixed = redbone
I've watched a few of your videos and what I like about you is that you seem to listen to music really passionately and without preconception. You take it seriously. I like that. Not many reaction channels do that imo.
Fun fact: This is funk.
Funk is the best.
It was.
Funk fact
@@icanhearyourskin8516 bruh lol
i funking love this song
Childish is straight up talented. React to yeah right by Vince staples
niko villalva yessssss

I love the channel, I cant wait for you two to eventually feel as comfortable with rock etc. as you are with hip hop. I respect the hell out of your diversity in music, its all just tunes, if that can bring more together than so be it. Im all for it. Thank you gentlemen.
Lost In Vegas, love the work you guys do. Most "reaction" videos don't take the time or have the ear to catch the lyrics and be able to appreciate the creativity but you guys always seem to notice and appreciate that.
Thank you!
really appreciate y'alls reviews - so many out there lines and things just whoosh right over their heads lol
Yes, you guys did another Childish Gambino reaction! Great video! Please keep doing more Childish Gambino, he's extremely talented
Thank you!
Can't wait for This is America. We'll see how free thinking all the subs are. Got faith in you both!
I love your videos and enjoy your reactions. Keep up the good work. My band started covering this song recently and I was surprised you didn't address the musical outro. The guitar melody is one of my favorites.
i appreciate your breaking down on the lyrics in your videos! The honesty is irreplaceable! Love the videos fellas.
One of my favorites. It just gives a good vibe. It's in my playlist.
Y'all should listen to "Me and Your Mama" from this album. The second half will blow you away.
The beginning serves as the album's intro, but at around 2:00, SHIT GETS REAL
You guys always have such amazing insight. Keep it up. I’m a huge fan.
22k.. congrats guys! Can't wait for more reactions :)
Thanks Carl! Good to hear from ya sir.
I just got into funk and soul lately and I cant believe I came across this gem. Not a childish gambino fan overall but this whole album is beautiful and great! I love your channel so it was glad to see you guys check this out, too!
Lowkey - 200 Bars of Power.
Love the reactions keep it up guys!
This definitely should be reacted to
TheKnowledgeSeeker Fuck yeah. This please. Another great react to a smooth sounding tune.
This needs to be done
I would b very disappointed if they don't do this one.
TheKnowledgeSeeker 11
I loved this song but now i love it even more, thanks for the commentary, it actually added quite a bit to it for me.
Randomly came across your Hopsin reactions while listening to Hopsin. I normally have no interest in watching reaction videos but I've watched a bunch of your videos and find myself enjoying both your break downs over lyrics and music taste. As a guy from New Zealand its also refreshing to hear your intelligent perspectives from your cultural experiences.
Daniel Caesar - Best Part ft H.E.R is another great r&b track for you guys
Ollie11 that album is classic you should listen to jp cooper album and also sabrina Claudio about time
My man Childish made a 70s hit in the twenty tens. In the words of Nolifeshaq: Dat's tough.
You guys are are amazing. I love that you threw the boosie Collins in there for those who don't know the sample. Kudos, you got a new sub.
Nice to know that you appreciate this piece of art. You two have great analyzation I respect that.
y'all should watch his live performance of this. its on Jimmy Fallon if I remember right. great vid as usual :) keep it up 👌

That's a great song as well.
Milan Oodiah that song is crazy good.

This is just one of those songs that when it comes in you can't help but smile and grove to it! Awesome reaction guys! 🔥
Thanks Collin!
I came across this videos by accident but glad I did. I like how you guys explain this video. Good job guys
React to Childish Gambino - Freaks and Geeks
They hated the song. They talked about it in an earlier video
James Oldschool why didn't they like it?
Chaaarisma nah bonfire
Saucey J or that 🔥
Please
The album is so dope when you listen to it it seems like the theme of the album is it's written to his unborn son like it's a documentation of him and his mother's relationship and to pass on knowledge of relationships what justice is and how to deal with love in general.
Thanks for the insight on the album. We haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
Vegas in the house. Keep em coming.
much respect to you guys, I like the fact that you played a snippet of bootsy's song. You didn't just say it but actually showed the comparison showing what you mean.....nice
Ayo G ! I need to see that redbone up close 😂😍
LOL!!
You guys always put out good insight. I didn't know what redbone meant. 👏🏽👏🏽 I got to see this live in Joshua tree and another great song off this album that doesn't get as much hype as Redbone or Me and Your Mama is Terrified. He's just talented. If you circle back to Childish Gambino I would like to see your reaction to one of his music videos either Sober or IV. Sweatpants. 😊
Thanks Yerikza! We'll definitely get back to Childish.
All i gotta say is, I appreciate you guys so much for your reactions....regardless of skin color or political affiliation, you guys represent everyone and its so enjoyable to watch...you've turned me on to so many great artists including Chris Stapleton. You bring back my childhood with all the soul that you have....if we can donate in any way lemme know!...thanks for your amazing work and keep it up fellas!
I love how when you guys reference a different song, you add it into the video. so clutch
He did it live and it sounded just like this you guys should check it out sometime if you get a chance. Dude is too talented.
Dude in glasses has a deeper interpretation of music and lyrics.
Fellas, I love your videos and the net your casting on music in general. Keep up the fantastic content! I subbed few weeks ago and you guys were just under 50k subs. Every vid I watch has hella more subs and now you’re at 76k. You deserve every one of em. I’ll continue to recommend your channel to all my friends. Thanks for all you do!
uuuughhhhh i love how you guys peeped the bootsy sample!!! yessss love how knowledgable your videos are
Other really good Gambino songs to react to are "Telegraph Ave.", "Freaks & Geeks", "Bonfire", "Sweatpants", and "The Worst Guys". Keep up the great vids!!

I'm a huge fan of metal. I saw Get Out and heard this song and loved it immediately. Thank you for this. Didn't know what the song was. This genre is great. Love the beat.
Kendrick - Cartoons and cereal ft gunplay
Zaidyn Tauscher one of my all-time favorite rap songs/production
Zaidyn Tauscher that song sucks
I love Rykeem Freeman. Really? Really though? Go listen to Tyler the Creator or Post Malone or some shit.
we need that shit
Did you just put Tyler the creator and post malone on the same level?
2:06 Childish Georgino 😂
😂😂
Desi džoni
Gambino and Rush are my top two favorite artists/band. I can't deny you guys, I'm subscribing!
This song always gives me an Al Green feel. I love the production by Ludwig and the fact that Donald’s vocals go just as hard. Always a classic👌
check out childish gambino - me and your momma
Amazing song. When it first came out I listened to it for 2 weeks straight.
When I first heard this song I thought he simply produced and got a real bluesy, church choir-esque lady to sing it. But then I saw him perform it live and lost my fucking mind
As always, great reaction!
Thank you!
Man I watch a couple different reaction videos but you guys are the first ones I've ever subscribed to because you say some real shit.
Thanks Tony! We appreciate that!
Patiently waiting for your thoughts on renegade by jay z and Eminem. 😂😂😂
Lorenzo Ramirez Definetly! Forever a classic
Didn't Eminem diss Jay Z on that track? 😂
+Lil Skeet no but he straight beasted on the track. that's why a lot of artists like snoop Dogg won't work with him cuz he will out rap them on their own album
And even Nas back in the day lol
George - Jay-Z legend followed by a five minute explanation, Eminem uh.. I don’t know dude no substance really.
Donald Glover. Renaissance man.
Such a masterpiece
One of my favorite cuts, found it by accident a while ago on youtube ✌
Hey could you listen to some older music like Pac, biggie, and ice cube even if you've listened to the more popular songs by them I'd still like to see a reaction/review!
In due time bro!
I need you guys to react to Winter Blues by Joyner Lucas. I think you guys can really start getting into him more once you hear it :D
I'm subscribing because you guys reeeaaallly know music bros!!!!

JOEY BADA$$ - CHRIST CONSCIOUS
2:05 how you get your voice like that?
That’s impressive.
that was sick.

Hey guys! I followed you over from your Metal reactions. Thanks for clueing me into Childish Gambino. I'm a fan of Donald Glover from Community. I'm looking forward to following you deeper down the rabbit hole.
Gambino need make more songs like this with the old lady voice and everything
Hey guys you guys should take a look or react to Logic's 2013 xxl freshmen freestyle and cypher part.
Daniel Gonzalez they should listen to growing pains 1 and 2
Daniel Gonzalez yes that cypher straight flames
Love going back and discovering reviews before I subscribed. Some great ones in here. Many artists I thought you should review but you had already like Stormzy and megadeth.
This song is real dope and it makes me happy that it is so popular because it really reminds me of old funk and r&b music.
"And if you're black, I'm the guy that made Redbone" --Childish Gambino on SNL when he hosted
React to Kingdom by Common / Vince staples, amazing storytelling !
Loved it 👍👍👍
Best reaction channel out here
y'all should react to Locksmith - 10KONDRMS
Yessssss. And king los- I'm on one
5:15 When he said "my peanut butter chocolate cake, with kool-aid" I interpreted that as his girlfriend is sweet and aesthetically pleasing but too much sugar isn't good for you.
I agree this guy is multi-talented. Love this song!
I'm here for the rock and metal reactions but Childish Gambino just got my attention because of this song and This Is America. Thanks guys!
Gambino is like the logic of life. Logic is an amazing rapper because he is solid in every aspect of rap. Gambino is just amazing at life because nearly anyway someone could get famous he has done all of them and is great at all of them. Rap, Seoul, stand up, acting, its fucking insane.
Jerad S. I dont like gambino as a rapper, I like him more as a singer/producer/actor/writer.
And I personally think logic is boring thrash
tyler logic is my favourite rapper and has been for like 4 or 5 years. He caught my attention for looking like a nerdy ass white kid that wouldn't be able to rap, but dude is one of the best in the game right now. Everyone's got there own opinion though
I think his last two projects have basically been worse versions of TPAB
tyler well yea true, I love his old shit like under pressure and his old mixtapes young Sinatra trilogy.
Pls react to "Uncle Sam" by Brother Ali
big up lost in vegas
Damnn George, really want to hear more of your singing!
Takoe stefi
React to Joyner Lucas - I'm Sorry
