Glad you called it what it is, a cult

    • @IchNachtLiebe
      @IchNachtLiebe Před 2 lety +111

I used to watch a guy who was an unofficial expert of cults. He was really interesting and informative. I unsubscribed from him when he addressed people calling feminism a cult. He disagreed. He just kept reading the online definition of feminism and saying "See, it just means 'equaljty for the sexes'".
I lost a lot of faith in him. He grew up in a cult and broke free from it. That's why he gained that interest. Left one to join another.
Reading the definition of feminism or any woke movement as proof it isn't a cult is the same as citing Charles Manson saying his whole thing was a "family", or heaven's gate is just "a collective of people who believe in a higher being.
That same guy always uses the BITE model (behavior control, information control, thought control, and emotional control.) All of which applied very well to feminism.
B... Behavior control: most feminists actively discourage women from taking on traditional roles. They encourage body modification and shame you by telling you you're part of the patriarchy if you don't align with their behavior.
I.....information control. If you watch many well informed channels who are willing to go against the grain you're quick to find out that many of the statistics feminism uses as their base for their philosophy. They manipulate words and stats to make their followers believe that they are in an unsafe reality. They also protest anyone who shares more genuine information and insult you for even attempting to watch those speakers or listen to them. There are many a video where a group of feminists stand outside a speaker like Paul Elam and say "You'd listen to a (explitive) like him? You're an (explitive) too."
I could go on. I'd happily point out the thought control and emotional control as well but I have to get to work.

This actually happens alot and honestly it makes sense. When your young like in your 20's you see all the percived injustices in the world and feel a need to step up to fight them but as you age and interact with the world you slowly realize that most of the injustices are either somthing you will neevr be able to fix or actually happen for logical reasons so you start focusing more on making yourself better instead of making the world better. The problem is activist types prey on wide eyed young people and use them as their own personal army to force others to comply. Its what the christian right did in the 80's, and its what the woke cult does today. The world has far to many grifters trying to become famous and powerful and social media has givin them an easy way to spread their message and recruit their followers.

Then I came home for a summer, leaving my echo chamber, and talked to people. By the time I was back on campus for the spring semester I was done with it. I realized I only bought into it because of the “propaganda”. Every teacher taught the same thing (socialism good, Republicans evil), all the students parroted those ideas on campus, and all the on campus speakers reenforced those ideas. What I find interesting in getting a BA is that at first you have a quick transfer from enlightenment liberalism, to which the logical conclusion is made out to be socialism, then very strange and complex post-modernism, which is somehow still tinged with marxism. However, you can avoid those classes by the time you get past 2nd year. You can tailor your degree to not have to deal with particularly a lot of bullshit, but still know how to counter it if you go to a decently large university.
One of the people I know got sucked in hard by first and second year courses. I remember telling my girlfriend that this is quite funny to me, because you can clearly see that her underlying moral instruction was rather conservative, indeed more conservative than mine. She wasn't particularly religious but always covered up, the thought of hook ups disgusted her, and she always practiced personal responsibility - all indicators that she would turn out conservative. Well, in 3rd year she stopped taking those courses and got a boyfriend, while she still wont admit shes a conservative she bitches about lefties all the time now.

I was raised in a small, southern USA, Christian town and the whole time I was growing up I considered myself a liberal. My dad raised me and he was a openly gay man in the 80s and 90s back when they would still kill you for being that different. So there was always this divide there between me and the conservatives. I just couldn’t understand how people wouldnt just let people be who they are as long as they weren’t breaking the law and why we couldn’t all just get along. I thought the end goal of us liberals and progressives was a world where everyone is accepted and everyone at least tolerates everyone else if not reaching a understanding and getting along. It’s crazy to me now that I feel more like a conservative and watching the new age “liberals” act almost exactly like conservatives use to act back in the day. The end goal should not be to have everyone think and act exactly the same because that will never happen. The end goal should be to learn to understand and accept each other to the point where we can all live in relative peace IMO of course. Shutting people up is never the answer. Let people spew their hatred and their bullcrap and that way we as a group can crap all over it and people on the fence will see that and go “well I better not think that way”. Shutting people up is how underground movements and rebellions get started and since no one is saying how bad it is to think that way more and more people will join until you have a new version of the Nazis or some crap.

Fun fact: EVERYONE needs therapy when they're growing up. It's usually called education and parenting. That's when you learn proper moral values and how to be a good person. Unsurprisingly, those who lack this turn out to be the most vulnerable to problematic behaviour. 80% of delinquents hail from single parent households despite those households representing only 15% of the total. That's no coincidence. My mother was pretty toxic and while I didn't undergo therapy, good friends and informative videos like this one played the same role. We're born as blank slates, ready for evil people to use us for their own ends. That's why we all need therapy when growing up. Stay open-minded people.

Your 'fun fact' is very wrong and, given the seriousness of the concept of 'needing therapy', inherently insulting. Not *everyone* needs therapy.
What you've done here is called, I believe, 'projection' - the error of assuming that everyone else must be like oneself e.g. if you are afraid of spiders then 'everyone' must also be afraid of spiders. People tend to do this to ameliorate feelings of inferiority (which are usually groundless anyway) i.e. a person recognises that they needed therapy for a problem they developed because of the way they were treated in childhood but instead of seeing this as something particular to *only* them, or at least a minority of people (and which therefore could be seen as making them somewhat inferior to everyone else, or at least the majority of people), they prefer to imagine that *everyone* has some kind of problem caused by something in their childhood thus making them feel better about themselves because then at least they can argue that everyone else is 'just as bad'.
If you *must* generalise about *every* adult's psychological state it's better, and more accurate, to say that everyone *probably* has *some* 'issue' to *some* extent.

One of the greatest things one of my daughters ever told me is why she is no longer a feminist. My daughter stood up and looked my sister right in the eye and said "You know that YOUR brother and MY father is a man. Right?". She then left and went home. To know that my daughter not only sees all I have done for her but appreciates it and will stand up for me meant so much for me I honestly do not have the words to accurately describe it. Modern feminism has been totally corrupted and now has NOTHING to do with equality. It is about punishing all men for what some men do. They have confused justice with retribution. Equality has been replaced with revenge. They don't want to make things better for women as much as they want to make things bad for men. The name alone says everything: Feminism as in "to feminise". To remove everything masculine as if masculinity is a bad thing. And they HATE it when anything proves to them that the oppressed have become the oppressor. A good friend of mine which I knew for 7 years suddenly turned against me for speaking the truth about feminism, while debunking their claims. I was immediately called a misogynist and got ostracised from her group of friends. I had a perfect friendship with her, I only wanted to state my honest opinion about feminism because she kept making me feel guilty about being a cis male who is not a feminist. I tried to convince her that I don't need to be a feminist to be a good guy, since I don't agree with their agenda. But sadly, she was way into the feminist propaganda and believed everything they said. She also had the mindset of making enemies of those who oppose the feminist ideas.

I literally posted a photo of an otter once, and captioned it "He's so cute!" 4 people blocked me, and accused me of assuming the otter's gender.
I was also having a conversation with an SJW, and she was discussing her political views. I joked with her going, "Wow, look who knows about politics!" She got offended, and claimed that I was insulting her intelligence because she was female, when I was just in awe because a lot of the people at my school don't even know what they're talking about when they claim to know about politics. She posted my social media account on her story, called me a misogynist and blocked me.
