- From the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, we take a close-up look at the ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters: Afterlife! I compare the grill from the ECTO-1A to see if it was used in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Thanks for the showcasing. Out of all the cars in the museum, Ecto-1 shouldn’t have been the car stuck on a corner. With so much to appreciate AROUND EVERYSIDE of the vehicle, this car should have been the last car to sit in a corner regardless of its size.
She’s a beauty. Even in that condition! It was a back of the neck hair raising moment when she was uncovered in Afterlife. I was 12 when I saw the original movie in 1984 and the love of this franchise has never gone away. Thanks for sharing!
I just love every bit of rust & dent & weathering. Makes me feel like the Ecto was real & left in an actual barn for nearly 40 years. It gives the car history, this amazing look.
I totally agree. I really appreciate the time and effort it took to get everything right on this movie. Seeing this car in particular was like looking at a piece of art. Very well done and can't wait to see what they do in future movies.
@@ghost.beacon would of been cool if you ask the staff to pop the hood to see if it still has it's Miller-Meteor vin, as the og ecto's vin is available to the public online and I think it would be helpful to those who want to know what the car looked like before it was the 1a. As we know that the 84 ecto was originally a orangey colour before it became the ecto
Thank you for your video ,i love it .
Thanks for this video! I just found it today, and it's exactly what I was looking for a project I have in hands. Suscribed to your channel! 🇪🇨
You're very welcome! Glad we could help you with your project!
That poor car " don't worry baby ill take good care of you "
Thanks so much for posting this! Living on the other side of the world, the likely hood of seeing this in person is next to near impossible, to your video is so cool to see! My fave part of this ecto would have to be the rust!!!
I always keep the fans outside the U.S. in mind when making these videos. I believe everyone should have a chance to see the details! Yes, the rust is incredibly well done! So cool to see the different weathering techniques on the ECTO.
Thanks for making this! I didn't know the Ecto 1 from Afterlife is on display at the Peterson! I'm gonna go check that out! It's an interesting description they have for the car there. I had assumed that (within the "Ghostbusters universe") that the Ecto 1A from Ghostbusters 2 was supposed to be a different car, not that they upgraded the original car. And so I assumed that the Ecto 1 in Afterlife is supposed to be the car from the first movie, not Ghostbusters 2. I wonder what Jason Reitman would say about that.
Yes! I would highly recommend seeing this car in person. The whole ECTO-1A being a separate car has been a hot debate lately. I'm in the camp of ECTO-1 and 1A as being two separate vehicles. It makes me think, why would they build all of that new equipment for the 1A roof rack and then just go back to the original roof rack and less decals later on? Early concept art shows that 1A was going to be a checkered cab, so it leads me to believe that there was going to be a fleet of ECTO's. I hope this is explained in the new movie or comic books.
@@ghost.beacon Yeah, that would be nice if they explain it. 🙂
I love that this on display at the Peterson, but I wish they would have placed it in a position where you could walk all around it instead of in a corner.
Yeah, I wish they did that too. So mush details that I wanted to see in the rear and ladder side. I tired my best to get all angles.
@@ghost.beacon Have you been to the Hollywood Museum and seen the Ghostbusters exhibit there? They also have some amazing pieces that I wish I could walk around.
@@ebayproductsforsale Actually, yes! I will have a video of my visit in the near future! 🙂
@@ghost.beacon Cool. I'm looking forward to seeing that. 👻
I couldn't figure out why they shoved it in a corner until I realized the must have done it to keep people from climbing the ladder
With the harness sticking out of the front of the roof solidifies it being ecto1a
Did not know this! As always, you're filled with ECTO information!
Whereabouts is this "harness"??
As a Ghostbusters nerd ..thanks man ..there is a few things missing off the car ..I'm guessing there going to restore ecto 1 as the original for the next movie
You're welcome! From the tone of Winston at the end of the movie it sounds like ECTO-1 will get a refurbishment in the next one. I can't wait!
But now which ecto will it be ? We have ecto 1 ..ecto 1a and now the Egon ecto ....sorry I'm such a nerd ..but thank you for sharing
I always wondered if it was really rusted or if it was a wrap
Maybe needed slime stains jk
