He is the best defensive player I’ve seen with my eyes live. He just covers so much ground with his movement and length, i just don’t see how you play him. His on-ball defense is better than I’ve expected, you cross him up and step back and he still will have a hand in your face. Nothing easy. I will always take a interior defender over a perimeter because they effect more plays.
Defly I’ve always said that perimeter defenders are overrated when it comes to impact lol kawhi a defense wouldn’t really matter as much without serge gasol or Duncan
steven whiters defense starts at perimeter though, but I think rim protectors are underrated

@@wswann34 but since the best offensive players are perimeter players, perimeter defense is extremely important. Rim protection helps you defend on the perimeter, but I think it’s impossible to overrate perimeter defense.

AD is now playing in beast mode, shutting down all big guy starting from Gobert, Lauri markkanen, LaMarcus Aldridge, Porzings, Jokić, the list goes on....
Telling ppl this how lakers gonna guard the clippers in the 4th quarter, Avery on lou will, Ad on kawhi, Danny green on pg, McGee or Dwight on Harrell depending on if lakers stay big which I think they should because clippers struggle with big lineups (look at yesterday’s game), and lebron either on harkless or Beverly whoever clippers have in the game in the 4th. This allows lebron to read the offense and play free safety. Ad is gonna give kawhi problems on defense because he has length and can move his feet, kawhi doesn’t have moves he uses his strength and dribbling to get to his spots and shoot his mid range jumper. Look at the 4th quarter on opening night when Ad started guarding kawhi he shut him down because kawhi couldn’t shoot over the top of Ad. Lakers need to attack lou will on defense at all times make him expend energy to take away from his offense. 2. Rondo will play a big factor in that matchup because he’s the only other playmaker and he’s the only one that can run the pick and roll with Ad because if lebron runs the sf/pf pick and roll with Ad, the clippers are just gonna switch it, the clippers can’t switch with rondo and Ad because you not gonna switch a point guard onto Ad. Lastly, clippers will struggle all year on offense against good defenses i been telling ppl this because they have no true playmakers and they play iso ball almost everytime down the court unless they running a pick and roll with montrez who struggles against length in the paint Brook Lopez gave him problems. Clippers play too much iso basketball which affects the rhythm of kawhi and pg. that’s why kawhi shot been off. Clippers gonna mess around and get a 4 seed 5 seed matchup against the nuggets and that’s gonna give them a huge problem because Denver is big, have wing defenders, they play defense, and traveling from la to high altitude Denver is cause for concern. Stay woke on the clippers ppl going crazy over their defenders but all you need is a screen to penetrate the paint where clippers are weak at.
Lakers length and size alone will be a nightmare for Clippers. If Frank Vogel just let AC played on opening night things will be different. He can match Beverly pound for pound even on energy and hustle. Lakers bench needs to step up because even though the Clippers doesn't have a legit facilitator their bench alone is legit. Lakers needs to match those energy that those guys brings but the only thing the Lakers advantage that I've seen is a nightmare for the Clippers and that is AD. No one and I mean no one can match him pound for pound. He's a beast. Health will be the X Factor with the Lakeshow. Hopefully they can stay that way because it's been a decade since we've seen that banner being raised to the rafters. 17th season with the King hopefully with a ring. 17th championship.

100% he is. Marcus Smart is a close second, Capela is amazing too and Gobert is just a massive rim protector. That being said, nobody has the stats, the performances, the consistency and versatility to cover every position defensively like AD does. Smart is a close second IMO, because he don't give a fuck. He'll go against anyone, any size as well and lock him up. AD just a bit more impressive and consistent. All in all, Lakers are the best team in the league and since I saw AD and Bron I knew they were going to win the chip even tho everyone said the Clippers not just my buddies but people like KD as well.
