It seems When Shah Rukh Khan wanted to collaborate with A R Rahman for a movie way back in mid 2000,...A R Rahman threw a spanner at Shah Rukh Khan (the producer) that he needs a specific Royalty share on the music he composed....that did not go down well with the North Indian fellas and so they dropped the idea to hire A R Rahman for his home productions. This is when I knew A R Rahman has made himself inclusive to copyright and royalty share for all his music composed for movie albums.

no way..In cinema for music compose: instruments players are paid by producers lyric writers are paid asper they demand. Sungers are paid ad per their market. Director and story writer who create situation for song ( without situation you cannot compose song for a movie) were paid (KBalachandar or bharathiraja) in full as salary .. like wise singers, recording studio and recordist.were paid full salary ,. as per they demand .. Here producer is the absolute owner right
