- In episode 21, we scratch the surface of one of the most interesting periods from Ancient Egypt, the reign of Pharaoh Akhenaten. We explore the radical social transformations during his reign and its uniquely characteristic artistic revolution known as the Amarna style. They weren’t worshipping the sun. They realized the importance it has for the body just like plants need the sun so do we. The center of your palms absorb sun energy that cycle through the body. Just put your palms up to the sun and you’ll see. Just take in the sun.
Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate the feedback and encouragement. Keep on listening! -- Lucas
Very interesting, thank you. I would like to see some more works from Amarna period.
Thanks @asyhm011 . I'm pleased you find the podcast helpful. Please do consider sharing the module, if you can!
Thank you. I Love this Picture.
i like this video greetings from Hellas "Grecce"
That was a great watch bro
@jespero100 Thanks for watching. There are examples of physical characteristics being represented in other Egyptian works (e.g. Queen of Punt & so-called "Polio Stele"). So, it's not impossible, but there's no solid evidence. One might see a similar morphology in A's father, Amenhotep III, and possible son, Tut, but to my knowledge, tests on relatives have not discovered evidence of a possible genetic explanation. Unless we find the body of Akhenaten, we'll never really know.
Do you think if the Amarna experiment had not been abandoned, that the Aten cult could have endured, or was it too explicitly tied up with the personality of Akhenaten? Also might the Amarna style have evolved into something like classical realism? The treatment of hands etc gives a clue that it was going that way, even if other conventions were retained- faces in profile with front-on eyes, and children as miniature adults.
Thanks
That is not a children. That is a grown individual next to them.
Is everyone blind to the shapes of the skulls?
ummmm did anyone else notice that Akhenaten has 6-8 friggen toes in that stone carving?!? lol. it is 'conveniently' chipped(smashed off probably) right where the baby toe should be, but if you do a screen shot and open it up in ipaint or any other program, and zoom right in you can still see the toe lines. i knew there was something off about that bloodline with elongated skulls and all, and that it more then just 'art'. lol thanks for foot pic with the extra toes.
What about that characteristic feminized distribution of fat symptomatic of Fröhlich’s? But Akhenaten was not impotent. Or was he? Have you read about the controversial Gempaaten statue? Quite interesting. The uploader is correct though---all speculation without the corpus.
Good Video well illustrated BUT like most commentaries he ignores any connection to Qumran. The Sons of Light living there in the 1st century bc to ad knew an awful lot about Amarna. For example at the of the ATON RAYS WERE Ankh signs, but also Trowels, examples of theses were found at Qumran. This knowledge enormously enhances our understanding of Amarna and Akhenaton, as shown in my books and You Tube examples search Robert Feather.
The Aten is Ra Heru Khuti
In the doctrine of Aleister Crowley and Thelema he is Ra Hoor Khuit.
In the Book of the Dead Ra says:
I am Ra who is Heru Khuti=Mars
Hence his name is Ra Heru Khuti/Ra Hoor Khuit
Did Akhenaten have marfan? The slik commantator jumps over this question too quickly. Akhenaten had the long face, spindly fingers and toes, bad eyesight, knees bending the wrong way. All this points to marfan. Not the stomach which might be his body trying to run fat like his father.
like if u came here because of Tupac.
Not true........
