Brett, were you nymphing or fishing a streamer? When you are back in the lower 48, you should definitely check out fishing Pyramid Lake for Lahontan Cutthroat; assuming Alaska hasn’t spoiled you too much with fishing. Hey Pat! I tried both that day. I was there for a couple hours but there was nothing happening. Normally this river runs much, much slower. We had a massive snowfall this winter and then about 2 weeks prior to this trip out there we had a massive heat wave. I was hoping that the major part of the melt was done but it wasn't. I've flown around the area a few times since then and the water level is much lower, so I'll be headed back shortly to try again. Unfortunately right now we have a temporary flight restriction around the area due to a wildfire. I would love to go fish Yosemite with you!!
