    from watching your video i think i will jump in a build one dont know if i will get the Areosedan or just the plain tudor sedan was thinking the street rod version with a gun metal lower section and a maroon upper section , if i was going to build it like we did a 1 to 1 scale one id use the 235 cu.in. 6 instead if the 216 cu. in. because of the oiling systen in it , very nice build and it turned out very cool

      Go for it once you get started you will get hooked and you will need to build a shelf to show case the model's you built you will get better at it. I use CA glue better know as super glue for a quick stick you can use model glue on other parts that are not so frustrating to hold to gether. For the seats you can even cut material and glue on the seats to make it more real looking instead of paint I have seen some awesome model's that kids have competed ageast each other on build offs they would buy the same model and see who can build the better version of it they would add there own pieces from other model kits or make there own pieces to the model.

    I usually sand or with my exacto knife cut slices before glue it helps the parts stick better the glue will last stuck together for year's I have over 30 year old model's still stuck together. I put together a 1950 Chevy fast back that looks like the fleet line. I got a 1951 fast back still in the box and some 1930s car model's.

      @@RightOnReplicasThis model will be Next on my list.🙂👍
      l Just ordered 4 random kits to build cuz I DO NOT want to open up any of my unbuilt kits I bought 30+ years ago.
      Some of them are Johan kits . I'd love to start building them, but they are worth a lot. I hate to look at it this way.
      Just build the damn things, right ? Someone needs to locate who has the JoHan tooling and start making them again.I think they'd sell like hotcakes. Anyway Doug,
      Got a question for you. I always thought that if you use acrylics like Tamiya ,you cannot use the polishing kit with all the grades of sandpaper to make the finish show quality / like glass.
      I figured I would have to settle for a acrylic clear coat. I have this idea that acrylic is too soft to rub out and polish BUT , I am only guessing. You are the expert. On another note,I am 70% finished with AMT's 1970 ProStock Nova. I am doing a Grumpy's Toy replica. As you know,this is a white car,black vinyl top. I am not sure what to do next? The body paint is finished.Been gassing our for over 3 weeks. Do I lay the decals and clearcoat it before I mask out the car and paint the flat black vinyl top.
      OR paint the vinyl top first ,mask it and then do the decals and clearcoat ?
      My comment is long, sorry. I will make a point to keep it short n to the point.
      Thanks,Howard

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Před 4 lety

      HH, Acrylics are "softer" as you've mentioned. They can be polished out but you have to apply 4-6 light layers to get the thickness needed. Lacquers are more durable but I actually prefer 2-part automotive urethane for clear coats. I would spray the body with clear after decals because you then only have to mask the body and spray the vinyl roof. DW, Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it the way you want it. You might have to scrounge a couple mufflers from the parts box or make a resin/epoxy copy from the original. Use Silly putty or Play-Doh to make a mold and freeze it to keep the shape before you pour! -Doug

    I have a few model's I haven't put to gether yet and they are not cheap to buy either. I have made my own out of steel I draw it out on sheet metal cut the parts out with sheet metal cutters bend the metal to get the shape of how I want the parts. Then weld them together. For me trying to glue plastic together it's hard for me to get the model glue to stick I use super glue for quick stick
