do you actually use it even frequently? CDs and DVDs are almost dead, it's better to have a portable CD/DVD drive you can use like once or twice a year

Bought one two years ago. Was dead on arrival, but I discovered it last week. Replaced the cd-rom with a caddy containing a 2.5'' HDD, just to check for functionality. Works like a charm.

Hi there, I'm 74, I recently bought a Denon
D-M41DAB DAB/DAB+/FM/CD Bluetooth Micro System, which obviously plays CD's. I have a lot of music on my computer and wanted to burn some cd's to free up space on my hard drive, so this external cd/dvd is just what I need.
Extremely helpful video. I bought my laptop a few months ago and didn't realize it didn't have a disc tray. Problem solved with the dvd-rw drive. This video is very detailed for us first time users of a drive like such. Thank you.
This drive you bought works great with pc games? I’m trying to find one but don’t want to get duked. I have gta San Andreas i bought this pc looking forward to playing old time games and didnt even realize i had no disc tray. If your drive works good with pc games id love to know which you purchased
@@ccwolfpackgamer5864 I can't confirm that as I don't have any PC games but it worked well with burned disc's. Perhaps purchase it and test it. But check the return policy should it not work. I'm very happy with my purchase. It is literally a lifesaver 🍃💛

remember if you have old cd-r discs which is already written cannot be rewritten. but you can use what already saved in cd-R. so you have buy a new disk to use as a storage device . to use dvd like memory card (read& write multiple times) you need to buy Cd-rw discs

I am glad you showed the drive playing DVDs. I just bought a Roofull external DVD drive it shares the same pop up box, I can not get the unit to play DVDs properly using VLC. The picture quality is good and the sound quality is good, but I get audio dropouts that are evenly spaced and repeat consistently. I was able to rip a DVD that has the audio dropouts, but then rather than drop outs I got out of synch audio and video. Because the issue is consistent with other players, I think it is a conflict between my computer the drive and
Windows 10.
I just ordered me one because the DVD drive on my laptop don’t work anymore for some strange reason I got a lot of DVD that I still like to watch so I hope everything work out for me with the one I ordered thanks for sharing this Video 👍🏽

I bought one off Amazon a month ago February 2021. No complaints yet. I've used it on both Mac and Pc. I share it between the 2, Works.
Can you use it to play computer games cd’s? I’ve been wanting to purchase to play old CD games from the early 2000’s

I recently brought a dvd drive like that cause i watch quite alot of stuff on my surface pro but i couldnt watch my old dvds on it.

Hey thanks alot this has given me great enlightenment. Today actually wanted to try rip a cd off windows media player for the first time ever on windows media. I always used another program called Nero and im glad to see you have shown a how to do this on windows media . I was having issues with the windows recognising the Sandstorm. I closed the windows , plugged in the sandstorm, then selected the songs I wanted which was not a problem, THEN PUT IN A BLANK CD, THEN THE BURN CD FUNCTION turned from grey to well coloured to activate.
Music is great and so was cd's to put them on. And still is for certain applications. Thanks for sharing. ✊🏼

Can you recommend a external CD/DVD drive that has a solid reputation for playing burned CDs/DVDs? I had previously bought a LG CD/DVD drive but it would not play the burned discs.

I've just bought an Hatoku external multi functional optical drive, simply to burn cd's. You just connect it to your laptop, log on to I- Tunes and away you go. A 5 year old could use it :)
I have just bought a rioddas external cd dvd drive very similar to the one you have. What I am having difficulty in finding out is. Does the external drive have a dac in it or is the dac part of the computer.
Does burning works with any portable cd/dvd player or does it need to have some kind of burning feature on it? Wanna try it with my concert dvds.

Just brought a New Desk top tower and from the compact size it doesnt have a cd/dvd player so ive just brought one from Ebay in 2021,,, only had refub pcs and they've always came with dvd/cd players

Make sure you're using a powered USB hub if you use an external CD/DVD burner. External burners need a lot of power while burning discs.
It can still burn with USB 2 right.
@@217champion As long as the burner doesn't draw more than 500 milliamps, you should be able to use it with a USB 2.0 plug.
If you're getting disc write errors and you're not using a power hub, that's probably the reason.

Hi Mark, any chance you could tell me what to do to get my sandstrom external dvd player to work on my HP? I bought it about a year ago but have only just tried it and it isn't even showing up on my laptop.... there are printers and external hard drives etc showing up but not my dvd player 🥴 I am where there is no internet for streaming so can only watch on that and am desperate 🙈😭😅

i also have this and im using windows 10, download a media player i plugged it in and my laptop is recognizing the player itself but when i put in any dvd its not playing and a box will pop up saying please insert a disc....but there is already a disc inside! why would it not be reading the discs?
