Lego imagination really shines when it isn't constrained by the canon of some existing IP.
you dont like 400 million iterations of star destroyers that ultimately culminate in a giant amorphous grey blob of bricks?
i jest but i stopped buying star wars sets because of this, just endless grey.
Ikr, it's original IPs like Ninjago, Monkie Kids, Hidden Side and Dreamzz are much more creative and brave compared to licensed IPs like Star Wars and Marvel.
They also go extra hard whenever they have new IP to get people on board.
Truly. This looks awesome.
9/10 times the unlicensed thing also follow a tv show though
This set reminds me of something I would have wanted as a kid. It is so wild with vibrant colors and imagination. I appreciate you mentioning that, as a toy, the play space may be limited. As an adult builder I generally do not consider those things.
This is the kinda stuff we'd want from Lego! Super imaginative. Now just give us fair prices
I love that the "sails" are not fabric, that makes it immediately better for me
As a big fan of sharks-that-are-also-ships, this speaks to me on a metaphysical level. The only thing cooler than a pirate ship shark is a Dreadnaught battleship shark. Had this come out when I was a kid, it would be THE set to have above everything else.
The one thing I'd like to see in this set, at this price point, is more glow in the dark stuff. I'm a sucker for lego's newest glow mixture.
yeah this series would benefit a lot from glow in the dark claws, eyes or teeth
Even though theres not much room on the ship itself, i really like this and i think its the best thing lego has come up with in a while
The design and play functions are really crazy. The designers went all in. Love the ship mode
This set looks insanely cool one of the most creative and fun looking set i've seen in ages and I want it so badly lmao
Cool looking set, and such a crazy design! I remember my Pop's cousin used to terrorize me when I was super young with a big shark toy with a flappy mouth that reminds me of this. I recently watched a few episodes of the Dreamzzz animation and it's pretty trippy!!
This theme is what Lego is supposed to be. Creative, imaginative, and mashing together all types of themes and sets
It's awesome when you see a set this large not require an obscene amount of stickers. Ill definitely be keeping an eye out for this one.
This is the only Dreamzzz set that I'm considering getting. It's just so ridiculous that it's good.
I'd get the zblob the robot set too
I get reminded of so many things by this theme: kingdom hearts, lego universe, gravity falls. I would have dug this growing up
The figures for this set are awesome! The printing for the little minions is really creepy and can make some awesome custom stuff
I love how they use color in this one! And the tiny z-blob is adorable!
Wow, Dreamzzz really went all out on the minifigures. That Izzie minifigure is easily one of the best of the whole year just like the Golden Dragon Ninja were last year.
Jang your reviews are truly Iridescent, pearlecent, cerulescent, and dual molded!
This is such a cool set. Loved the look in the show and the design team completely nailed the look. Main downside the figure space on top of the “ship”, and the antagonist-protagonist ratio.
9:32 a bit random, but this piece would be perfect for a mini scale link’s awakening display
perfect, was about to build this myself over the weekend. definitely my favourite set from the first Dreamzzz wave
The art design in this theme is amazing and the sets are very creative and cool so far.
Great review Jang! Definitely helped me decide if I wanted to buy this.
I love those dual molded swords. I hope ideas like that lead to a fantasy castle theme again someday
It's a wild set. Love the spooky type side of LEGO. Will get on discount in the future.
this feels like classic lego. My son was into power miners for a while (I was never a fan) but I think this would have been totally his kind of thing when he was younger. I assume the value can appear slightly better especially when compared to so many licensed sets - I guess lego charges themselves less of a licensing fee than Disney/DC/various car companies will
Loved watching you build this on the Twitch steam, had a great time! The review is also spot on and i agree with most of what you said.
props for colour coordinating the lighting with the sails
ooo. i love the bat eye. maybe my fav part of the whole thing.
this line has got to be the most awesome thing that has come out from lego in a while, it'd be such a tragedy if these don't sell well because wow i know i would have loved to play with these sets back when i was like 10, still would wanna play with them now, that's how good they are
Nightmare King looks fantastic.
It reminds me of the time cruisers series, only much cooler.
Every dreamzzz set I've gotten, i build both alternate builds one after the other, and I'm glad i did, because i was planning on building the ship build, but i like the big tank build a whole lot more.
Lego is really for everyone and all ages. Just got this set for Christmas and I already love it! 3 in 1, live the details and the colors, a wide set and really live the vibe of it in general. Thanks for all your reviews!
At first i assume Dreamzzz will be another forgetable line, but this set is amazing. And the minifigures! Chefs kiss
The Lego Silent Mary was the best thing about the fourth Pirates movie.
i was waiting for this review, because i absolutely love this set! your review came out exatly when my lego package came - i was waatching and building! review as always thorough and excellent. and the set!! the set!! it is different, it is interesting, and the color scheme is super.
it is just delifghtfully creepy!
I'm getting James and the Giant Peach vibes from that chompy shark jaw and winch! That scene was terrifying as a child
I think the reason they gave her a fabric waist piece, but not clones is because the clone ones need to be right around all 4 sides of the legs, which could more easily damage them. It's a total guess though so I could be completely wrong
I love that Lego is slowly embracing anime tech
Gives a new meaning to "Tail Rudder".
I’ve been watching your reviews for years! Just wanted to say thanks for what you do!
Can't wait to have my star wars ships hanging from the ceiling being chased by a massive heckin shork
Thank you Jang for another awesome review
THANK YOU! That star wars comment made my day ❤
This set is epic. Lego bravo to doing you. Thanks for sharing this i see so many building possibilities from the different layouts. Right direction.
Mad Max Fury Road? Doesn't that alternate build look like it would be in that movie? Nice review, Jang💪🤓💪
This look's so metal I love it!!
Hats off to lego for designing such a bonkers set, gotta check out the rest of the this theme now.
I don’t know how Dreamzzz is able to do this, it is a very new concept yet it gives me nostalgic feeling. 😄
Such a cool set. Awesome figures. No quality issues. More of that pls Lego!
Thosee minifigs are absolutely stunning
"...and this is Susan over here."
Nightmare King, Snivel....and Susan.
I imagine Susan just works part-time as Nightmare lackey to make ends meet. And then she has a second job as a secretary at a local dentist which is a 45 minute drive from her suburban home with a lawn and a garage for her Kia.
this set is sick its so detailed yet simple. now that ive got a job im going to save up to buy this
I'm a sucker 4 Sharks! Picking this up @Target. Thx for the informative review & your expert insight! 💕
13:08 The sword looks a little like the Sword of Omens from the ThunderCats with that yellow eye on the hilt. Then when I saw the alternate face I instantly think Mumm-Ra.
I wish this theme had better interiors or even just this set. They could have easily made an amazing interior with so many details but only included a bed jail cell and a small room with weapons.
Thank you hang for bringing up the cloth pieces, we absolutely should be getting them in Star Wars sets!
I am a big fan of this theme. Some awesome very imaginative Lego sets.
Even though I'm not sure what to make of this theme, I have to own this specific set one day. it is just so perfectly ridiculous and grotesque and surreal
this theme is so cool dude
I love this theme! Keep it comin, Lego! Thanks, Jang!
The Eye of Terror! The Chaos Gods are coming!
Its a bunch of cool things put together to make a thing.
1:13 is that television showing a video of the king summoning some kind of cosmic horror?
Great! I love tge Dreamzzz theme. Already got the cool one, but i will get them all!
The Nightmare King's cape looks like it was inspired by both Charizard and the Wraiths from Neopets. :P
I like old sailing ships and I like sharks, but I can't say this set is my cup of tea. That said, I can see what it's going for and I think kids will have ton of fun with it.
Those minifigures are great, though! Especially Izzy and the Nighmare King!
I want to see a MOC using those dragon wings
loveeeeeeeeeeee this build..... maybe I might et one to turn it into an actual great white shark lol
Cool looking wired set (it has a welcome Lego Movie style).
Many thanks for another great Review! And thank you for the side statments about Minifigs in SW and call of Sauron !!!
Yeah, this is a very unique build, it's creepy but fun at the same time, imagination is the way to go, it's Lego after all.
what is your favourite thing in reviewing lego? just interested
Just providing the service & value to viewers. The process itself isn't my favorite (I prefer creative work), but I'm glad to do something that brings useful information and/or entertainment to the community.
I’m getting thrice upon the time’s ship vibes from this
It reminds me of the grim whale from RWBY. This looks like a really cool theme
I love Dreamzzz I hope this lasts as long as ninjago
yo that ship looks so cool
Really reminds me of McGee’s Alice
Very macabre in all the right ways
I just bought this set for $80 on sale, it’s kind of impossible to not for that price lol. Away to build I go!
Very nice set since long time. I love the crazyness and colors 🎉
Nightmare King made me think Zombie Elric
Don’t care too much for the main build, absolutely love the alt build
I peep the Bandai Model Kit General Grievous - the best 1/12 Grievous! Also the Black Series AT-AT Driver - great figure! Nice! :)
Reminds me a bit of the time twisters theme
At that price point this set makes the new Coruscant Gunship look like a joke : (
Definitely a ''Dream'' set
Wooow i need more ninjago, my childhood
Is it bad that I immediately reacted to “Check out that sword!!!!!”
To be fair it’s a really cool sword.
If the Nightmare King looks so cool as a minifigure, I definitely would like to see how the Night Hunter looks! For me it's the most interesting character of this show, not only because of his design.
This set is fantasy at its finest, it's a nightmare-shark-ship-tank! What a cool pastiche! Izzie also looks cool with that opalescent hair piece.
Are you willing to review more Dreamzzz sets?
I turned myself into an Egg Saruman, I'm Sauron Egg, now go get my ring 👀
That title sure is a tonguetwister.
Great set and minifigures
I think there should have been more interior
The small figures should be called Midfigures
I wonder how easy it would be to rebuild a standalone ship and standalone ghost shark thing from this set...
This set looks really great to me
Lego and pirate ships just go together like PB&J. No better combination really.
9:00 It's very easy to explain.
SOUL ROBBER!
(Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge)
Retails for $240 Australian dollars. Which seemed insane, but with an introductory offer I got it for $160. Pretty happy about that
Honestly this might be worth it when it reduced for me for all those wing and exo force/ccbs finger parts for me.
I've slept on this theme so I hope it doesn't fail
While I admire the creativity, it's not for me now. However, 12 year old me would think this is the coolest thing ever. Hopefully it inspires a lot of people.
6:37 it's a little disappointing that there's just some gold in there. It would've been funny if it was full of more of those 1x1 eye pieces.
I have a sneaking suspicion they made the Nightmare King helmet this way because they plan to reuse it (maybe in other colors) for Sauron. It's exactly what you would expect from him (just add a face that mimics a closed iron helmet) and you should have it right.
