I’d watch the “end” of the charge, ie. Final voltage achieved to see if the stock charger was able to top those batteries off.
Nothing like sending a nice FLA equalizer voltage to lifepo battery of that stock charger.
Sure the BMS will protect the cells from an over voltage issue, but still not ideal.
Hi, The battery equalizer will work with pretty much any voltage or chemistry, it's a kin to an active balancer but for the batteries as a whole so its not chemistry dependant. It works by taking in voltage from the connected devices, averaging them in side the inductor coils and then releasing it out to the batteries. The maximum voltage of the device can not exceed the average voltage of the connected batteries. Eventually all connected devices end up being the same voltage. This makes it a cost effective solution for balancing lithium batteries in series, you can see the results of our 48v bank using it in this video: czcams.com/video/v6L8yyF5xxk/video.html
The Ranger can pull up to 400amps under a load. pulling or going uphill. The BMS will shut the cart down.
This is not accurate there is a governor on the unit that limits maximum power to 8 kW (about 10.5 horsepower). Lead acid have a massive voltage drop under load so in order to provide the same watts they must provide substantially amps.
Remember watts = volts × amps. You can either raise the amps or the volts to achieve the same power.
Lithium batteries are able to hold the 13v output even at 200 amps (even though we did not see any spikes over 150 amps).
Any BMS communication between batteries?
Possible with the SFK HUB and new batteries with the data port, for this install the customer wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
We'll be releasing an update to the app to add a new Vehicle Mode which will show GPS speed Data and Battery Power as well as fuel gauge.
any ideas what the range was after some testing?
About 45 miles
