As a Ukrainian, thanks for all the effort you put into this. It means a lot. Many people didn't know our country existed before 2014/2022, and even though many are becoming educated now, there is still a lack of knowledge about Ukraine and our history. Ukraine has a fascist regime listed as the most corrupt country in Europe, Zelensky before the war had the lowest approval rating and 14k were killed in the donbas by the UAF and Nazi paramilitary groups, OSCE reported Ukraine violated ceasefire violations on the front and is when Russia intervened after Ukraine shelled the donbas republics
Yea, it's more than the country itself. It's about right and wrong, standing against bullying, autocracy, and stopping an evil regime with azheimer that might provoke WW3. There is a story about an old man who allegedly had travelled a lot during his life. One TV reporter has decided to make a shot about him.
So the TV crew came to the old man's house. Reporter has asked: "Sir, can you tell us about your life?"
Old man started: "Of course. I was born in Austro-Hungarian Empire. I studied in Czechoslovakia, then I worked in Soviet Union and now I live in Ukraine."
TV reporter: "Wow, that's incredible! How did you managed to travel so much?"
Old man said: "Travel? No, my dear. Actually I have never left Uzhhorod." 😂
He also would have lived in the Kingdom of Hungary for a few years after the Second Vienna Award in the late 30s and early 40s!

@@karfrancouzsky9725 could you explain it to me? what are they referring to? have there been any conflicts between Poland and Ucraine before? I remember that my Ukranian colleague from a previous job used to say that many Ukrainians had Polish routes or something like that and that the languages have so much in common.
@@purplestringsmariamichelac3391 If you are interested in history, you can refer to Wikipedia entry 'Massacres of Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia'. Note that I am not able to asses, how accurately it was described there - I assume that it is more or less correct. It shall be taken into consideration, that Europe was not peacefull place in previous centuries, with the darkest period during WW2, that started when Germany and russians attacked Poland within 17 days on September 1939.
However Poles do know, that people are not responsible for their grand parents and their grand grand parrents' actions, unless they are still identifying with it (which Ukrainians and Germans are not). Meanwhile Ukrainians are recognizing Stephan Bandera as one of their national hero, that was fighting for independence 90 years ago. Usually they are completely not aware of the fact, that he was also fighting against Poles - it is just not included in their school history courses. On the other hand, Volhynia Massacres became very popular narrativ in Poland since russian aggresion on Ukraine in 2014. I doubt that such an intensiffication was just coincidence. It was rather part of russian internet info-war against Ukraine.
Anyway, full scale russian aggression on another country made those narrative irrelevant. We are standing strong with our brothers and sisters Ukrainians because we know, who is STILL the main threat for the peace in Europe and on the word.

Thanks for the video. I wanted to clarify something. 19:24 Actually surzhyk is not a mixture of Ukrainian and Russian. The term "surzhyk" is borrowed from agricultural vocabulary - it is a mixture of different grains. A mixture of wheat, oats, rye, barley, etc. Surzhyk is an everyday language in which elements of two languages are artificially combined, without observing any literary norms. So surzhyk can mean a mixture of different languages. For example, English and French, Ukrainian and Polish, etc. But a mixture of Ukrainian & Russian is more common. That's why many people say confuse those two phenomena.
The English term would be creole, then

Ukraine and Poland becoming best friends seemed so unlikely, but as a Polish person I am so happy that it went that way and I hope it'll last!
There has been so much pointless violence and conflict between us, from the times of the Commonwealth, through the 19th century and all the horrible things we did to each other in early 20th century, but all that went right out the window and I'm so proud of my fellow countrymen for how we all came together and helped the Ukrainian refugees, especially in those early weeks.

There are Ukrainian cities in the south of Brazil, around Prudentópolis-PR; they are allegedly less tolerant than those from Ukraine proper, but still a beautiful tie between our two nations.
Let me guess, they appeared after WW2?
@@user-ez8le1rp3x Not really. There were three waves of Ukrainian immigration to South Brazil. In the first wave, between 1872 and 1914, upwards of 40000 Ukrainians came from Austro-Hungarian-controlled Galicia fleeing mostly from poverty and attracted by conspiracy theories. The second wave happened between the two World Wars, bringing around 9000 Ukrainians mostly from Western Ukraine. The third and last wave, between 1947 and 1951, brought 7000 asylum seekers from Ukraine's intellectual elite, during a people of fierce Soviet repression.

Long live Ukraine from Australia 🇦🇺 🤝🇺🇦
Love Ukraine from Brazil 🇧🇷🇺🇦
In the friendship-section, it’d be interesting to also talk about the historically antagonistic relationship between Ukraine (or historical Ruthenians) with Poland. As recently as WW1, Ukrainian and Polish Nationalists were actually warring against each other for control over the Westernmost region of Ukraine today, surrounding Lwow.
Just found this video as YT recommended and so glad! Now I'm ready to binge other episodes 👌😄
As a ukrainian, i really enjoyed this video! You are so cool! Keep up the good work!
Stay strong, dear neighbours! Slava Ukraini from Slovakia! 🇺🇦🇸🇰
If you want to be the next injured, or killed, go on! Cherish the USA wars!
Thank you! We love you
Ďakujeme pekňe za podporu zo Slovenska!
Take your Ukrainian propaganda somewhere relevant, like your ass. This video is about geography, not you’re bubbly brained conspiracies.

love Ukraine from Georgia 🇬🇪♥️🇺🇦 :D
Stand strong, Ukraine! We stand with you! And this episode was amazing as always. Thanks as always for being respectful and educational - all your fans and other Geography enthusiasts appreciate it.
Really loved this episode, it gave me the opportunity to learn a bit more about such an incredible country and people. Just like to suggest that somehow you can pinpoint or tell where the famous places are located, it would be really interesting. Once again thank you for showing us so much about geography, something that I really love! Um abraço de Portugal!!
Great job Geography now! Best wishes to Ukraine from Poland 🇵🇱 🇺🇦
I can't believe you didn't mention Uman in the famous places section! It's actually a _Jɛɯish_ pilgramige site, being basically the only major Jɛɯish holy site outside of Isɾael that we have access to (due to other possible sites being in Iraq and Syria, and other countries ħostɨle to Jʊɗaism, like Jordan). It contains the Tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, whose form Chassidism is extremely visible in Isɾael, with many of their songs entering the ʀeligious Jɛɯish musical tradition more broadly, one major one (ɴɨggun Oz V'Hadar) being composed in Ukraine in the early 1800s. Every year, on Rosh Hashanah, Uman is filled with Isɾaeli and Jɛɯish-American pilgrims who spend the festival there.
It's impossible to mention so many things in such a limited time, and people know they can always add more information in the comment section.
@@thetruechaby It takes a line to acknowledge: "There's also Uman, which weirdly houses a major Jɛɯish pilgramige site, despite being outside of Isɾael and surrounding areas, and on Rosh Hashanah, Uman is filled with Isɾaeli and Jɛɯish-American pilgrims who spend the festival there, and thus looks like it is an Isɾaeli village, not a Ukranian one, during the festival.". I'm sure there's a better way to condense the information, that suggestion would be a "rough draft".
The guy at 7:34 is saying Slava Ukraine and Slava "something??" , Could that be a clue why he did not mention the Jewish site?
@@ServirLaPaix That's just a how many languages of both the former USSR (Lithuanian, Latvian, Georgian) the Warsaw pact (Polish, Sebian, Croatian, Bulgarian) pronounce "Nation". Even the Dutch version is pronounced in some dialects the same way as "ɴ@zɨ" , despite never being under Soviet influence, Italian and Romanian version sound like "ɴ@zɨ" with the suffix -one. The word ɴ@zɨ comes from older German pronunciation of "Nation". Even Russian uses the same word as Ukrainian; I would bet even Putin would refer to any Nation that way; if he were to refer to "The Russian Nation" would be be saying Russia is ɴ@zɨ? It just means "Glory to the Nation [Ukraine]".
@@ServirLaPaix its "nation" not nazi XD
As a Pole living in the US, it's been heart wrenching watching it all unfold, but I'm very proud of my family back in Poland taking in a family fleeing the wars destruction. This is a nice breath to focus on the culture and rich heritage of the Ukrainian people and show people what makes Ukrainians well... Ukrainian. Much love, Slava ukrani 🇵🇱🇺🇦💕
Blah, blah, blah...
@@LordDamianus You don't have to like my views, that's okay. I do hope you have a good day 👉👉
