Welcome to the Letterman CZcams Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. And for those of you who like Miscellaneous, you may very well find some Miscellaneous here. - Zábava
I wish TV was like this again. I miss the low budget, but high quality bits like these!
It only looks low budget because it's old af. It was the biggest show on TV, well aside from Seinfeld.
This was one of the best Staff Remembers episodes! And Joe was right: he was great at dialing that phone…just couldn’t answer it (sigh)
I so looked forward every year to Dave doing his bit about trick or treaters coming to his door. That yearly Halloween sketch was always comedy gold!😅
I love that he is laughing as he remembers it 😂
He has such an awesome hearty laugh! Never broke character during any of the skits, though, which made them all the more hilarious.
I'M SO PROUD OF MY BROTHER JOE, A ACTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR.
Thank you, Mr. Furey. At first, I thought you were bragging. Then I realized your arc. What a spectacular ride! All of these writer compilations are the best. Chris Farley outside the door. Geez.
Furey is an old buddy of one of my best friends! This is great and I love his laughing!
Yes, I love the old clips, but I really come here for these staff memories. Keep 'em coming!
THIS is what I've been waiting for. Joe, you are one of the reasons Letterman was like no other show on TV. The bit you did with Bill Murray was my favorite moment only second to Paul Newman asking "where are all the singing cats?" Thanks for all the laughs and great to see you still getting a kick out of this as much as we do!
Thanks so much Matt!
Wow! Joe Furey went from being an intern to being a writer in several years, and he even did some commercials, too. Wow! Dave knew how to find well-rounded people to help him out.
Thank GOD there are still some staff members left. Absolutely LOVE these compilations & inside stories!
I had an interview to be an audience page once. I’m hoping 20 years from now they ask me what my favorite moments are.
Joe was great. Glad that he included the legendary Bill Murray "incident".
Chris Albers appears in so many of these clips, surely he's due for his own "Staff Favorite Moments" soon :) Another great one, Joe!
Could not stop laughing all through this - thanks Joe!
These are so fun, thanks for keeping the series going.
And wow, would love to watch a documentary on the local access cable guy.
Gold. This was the funniest one I've watched yet. Thanks.
Joe was a favorite of mine from NewsRadio too. His bits on the DVD extras are great.
Of all the writers he's by far the best performer.
Writer Jeff Martin as both Flunky the Clown and the Actor Singer is pretty impossible to top. Legendary stuff.
He's almost too good.
*This was AWESOME.*
Thanks for taking my request! Good to see Joe Furey and the Mole Man.
Paul makes an ideal police chief.
-------------‐------------- paul played barney n dave -- dietrich .... thanks4sharing
Joe was terrific. I love hearing the back-stories of this great Era in Late Night Television.
This brought back some great memories!! STILL hilarious 😂
I think the best thing about these videos is their ability to showcase---DAVE SUCKS!
I love that this post has one of the top thumbs up ratings and is also at the very bottom when sorted by top comments. Guess some people didn't watch the full video before reacting!!
Ahhh the benefits of being a subscriber to the Barbara Gaines Show.
Wow. A staff writer who could also ACT.
Never knew that guy’s name, but he was in a ton of bits on the show over the years.
Oh this was so great to watch, i just recently started watching Letterman and a lot of other american stuff from the 80s and 90s.. A lot of the humor back then was great but Letterman scratches an itch that others dont
I love those photos of Joe with Roy Orbison and Paul McCartney.
Joe could be a relative to Richard Dreyfuss: the look, the voice... the acting!
14:41 Chris Farley in the hallway
14:41 you can see Chris Farley in the hallway
I am looking for the touching clip where Dave introduces his team of doctors, who he thanks for saving his life. I believe it was the 2/21/2000 show. I have been going through the staff favorite moments looking for it.
Has to be one of the better actors on staff, excellent work
Amazing!
That pic with Bud Orbison!!!!
Y’all tracked down the clips from the cable access show?! I really love your commitment to this channel
I lost it when the cops and dogs bust in to wrangle the escaping audience member.
Joe, it was channel J23, I think down on either 14th or 23rd street. Public Access TV. I did some voluntary camera work there. There was some psychic called Dian or something, a trad jazz group whose leader was named Jazzbeau and perhaps most notorious of all a sleazy half hour with I think she was called Robin Givens, a porn actress. I loved the amateaurishness of it all.
Hey, I just saw this. Can I pm you with a question?
Yeah, sure! How do you PM on CZcams? I have no idea. @@joefurey9619
OMD! (Oh, my Dave!) This was non-stop laughter. Really need to see the Bill Murray segment in it's entirety. Thanks for this vid post.
Joe Furey was excellent as Fry in Futurama!
There needs to be a CZcams talk show like NBC's _Late Night._
What commitment!
4:40 - Isn't this how The Donz got his start? 😄
:)
Glad Joe was promoted to answering phones.
Writers rule.
What was the name of the cable access guy?
anyone know the name of the cable access show?
15 college credits for an internship... so why isn't college just work experience in ur field of study? What r we paying schools for?
To this day, Dan Quail is standing by to take over the Presidency!
As long as a meal isn't being served.
It’s interesting that Joe admitted that his “mole man under the seats” character wasn’t that funny. Dave had attempted a similar running gag on his NBC show with similar results.
Chris Elliott had played that “man under the seats” on NBC Late Night. I hadn’t found that bit to be funny, either. Dave must have had a weakness for that idea.
Chris was on "Late Night," not "The Late Show."
Woah. 1:15 -- Joe Furey was HOT when he was an intern!
You bet. Sure beats the schlubs at 3:05!
don't we all....
OMG the chromakey capabilities at that time...😬
Wait….are Joe’s favourite moments all about segments he was in? The nerve of this guy!
People have known Trump and about TRUMP since the 80's bud
I"m just here for the Barb Gaines show... and what else? shit i forgot.... one second.. oh yeah.. and to make corrections for the Emmy nominated web-series Corrections w/Seth Meyers.. which they stopped making..... ugh... for some reason....
I've noticed a pattern in which all the writers' favorite moments seem to involve themselves.
People’s memories typically revolve around their own experiences.
Nothing gets past you, Columbo.
Why u don't hire interns...
Haircut Cop was less than funny.😕
Trump 2024!!!!!
This was one of the worst and most unfunny staff segments.
