They made an ELDEN RING version of Geoguessr. It's awesome.

I was amazed by how well I did at this geoguesser. But then again, elden ringnhas very unique locations and can be deciphered easily
I mean you can almost always use minor erd tree as a reference
Yeah very distinct biomes/zones that narrow down the location greatly
Honestly, how easy this game is per game would be a great metric to level design. The fact that a lot of people are able to pinpoint their location means they did an excellent job at creating distinct locations, good navigation landmarks, and making the map populated enough people recognize most areas of the map because they've been there it seen it. This game would be a nightmare for something like AC Legions.
Well judging by my calculations Elden Ring geoguessr is easier than the original geaguessr by 976449299547624%

It must calculate distance the same way the game does fall damage
There’s a video that goes over exactly how the fall damage works and it’s very interesting because turns out the fall damage is so accurate/consistent it wraps back around to feeling totally inconsistent. It’s always the same 16 meters, that’s when you start taking damage and 20 meters is when you’ll die no matter what. The fact that it’s only 4 meters between zero damage and total death makes it mega frustrating. You’d think the fall damage buffs would make it so you could survive longer falls but nope it only reduces damage taken. So theoretically you could take only 1/3 of your health at 19.99 meter fall but that extra centimeter will still turn it into a deadly fall and take all your health instead of a third. Same with torrent, he doesn’t extend the 20 meters nor does increasing your health. It’s pretty dumb
I could give someone a guided tour of every Souls game without even looking at the actual game, but I kind of assumed because of Elden Ring being an open-world game and me not spending nearly as much time in a given place that the specifics of areas wouldn’t stick with me, yet somehow I remembered most of these places almost immediately. I was kind of impressed at how much some places stuck with me despite not much really happening there.
Dude trying to geoguess a game where he's always trying to beat it as fast as possible definitely doesn't match as he expected lol
can't wait for that georainbolt guy smacking the hell out of his spacebar
People complaining in chat about dungeons not being included... they don't have maps. They are underground most of the time and the maps in game of the overworld ones like Hailg tree aren't accurate enough
They definitely could let people look around the dungeon and then just have them place the marker for where you enter the dungeon in the overworld. That would be absolutely brutal though and the changes to make it more reasonable definitely a bit more work. Mostly just identifying the dungeon itself, they’re usually small enough we don’t care much about identifying specific points inside
Damn, so much Aggy content in such a short space of time. Poggers
He has recently found himself with more free time I would imagine
Ah so that’s what Zullie’s been up to during break. 😂
As soon as I seen the the things connected to the bridge I knew where he was
The pilot wings 64 music makes for a real chill time
I feel like once you explore the world a bit you generally know where most things are, remembering what they are called is something else tho
didnt expect this to be so fun. also didnt think i would do so well. my first try without moving or zooming was 24800
I need to play this. I have over 2000hrs in it and have done like 11 playthroughs, i back myself to do pretty damn well
definitely cackled out loud at "dude no one's done 5 round 5 minute no pan but yes zoom and move!"
I feel like this would be incredibly easy, most areas are very recognizable.
was that pilotwings 64 I'm hearing? great soundtrack
"it's not that big of a map" LOL

& 33:42.. suuure. At least you can see the lake I guess..
21:50 this is like the most non-descript area ever and of course its the one he knows immediately :'D
I take it back, 29:07 is worse
1:07:40 lel
edit: 1:08:01 double lel
It’s actually pissing me off that I can’t even 100% figure out where 21:50 is. My best guess is stormveil, like the only real landmark is the golden seed/tree visible. But that’s also what’s throwing me off because idk I’m not aware of any seed near a mountain quite like that, that tall with so little features up the side. I’ve already spent like ten min trying to figure that out but whatever not many stormy places guess it must be stormveil
8:17 "This is literally where we were earlier"
- me exploring liurnia
The Erdtree is a BIG giveaway. That's why there's an option to hide the Erdtree. Because you can literally guess where you are just by looking at the tree and estimating the distance based on the landscape. So even if your COMPLETELY lost, the tree can show you exactly where you are.
that pilot wings 64 sound track though...
Why would they even make selecting and moving map the same button??
didn't think id do so good in this game seeing as i haven't even played that much (having only beaten the game once) but i still got a perfect score after about 4 attempts (currently ranked 59) the only things that threw me off was places like consecrated or just low detail places on the map and the distance is much farther in it than it probably should be like its 1 ft away and it says 15 meters
Idk the horse moves faster than you think
The geoguessr of all time!
At the very beggining i was like why are there yellow scribbles, their the minor trees 🤦♂️
YES! Yes. Just yes.
Good thing I don't have such high expectations of myself. 30 meters? That's acceptable. Wow.
I remebered every place and got everything right
good idea..
Going out on a limb but I'm guessing the game calculates for the difference in elevation between where you clicked and the target. Hence why some results seem like a wider number relative to what we see on the 2d map. As I'm pretty sure it would have to do that anyway to accurately translate the 2d distance between click and target otherwise if it's solely calculating the distance between two map points I have no idea where it would reasonably come up with these numbers (how many "meters" those points across are) as what would it be referencing on the map/3D world? Would it take where you clicked then measure the distance from a character walking there to target or the distance of the players map icon moving to the target?
TL;DR I have no idea how it's calculating distance between points and wouldn't be surprised if it's equating for elevation difference.
wasn't the painting minigame already geoguessr
I felt vindicated that I blew through like 20 locations in just a few minutes. I guess that's what 400+ hours does to your brain.
dog fr fr especially if you enjoy 100%ing the map every playthrough
Where is the cat scream from?(the twitch prime notification)

Probably. Any "veteran" would click to a nearly enough position BEFORE try to pinpoint a location in the 10sec limit game. (i stop watching at that part of his game.. )
@ I can tell you stopped watching because that’s exactly what he starts doing like, 20 minutes in.
@@dane1317 and you are right. I stopped watching after a painful 15 mins or a little more.
After the stop i goed to the game and played.. and while i didnt get perfect scores (im not a great Elden Ring player), i had a 22th place in 10sec no move (pan and zoom allowed) in the complete map...
Now im at 30th... So yeah.
Im #3 for limgrave 10 round
Does this dude rage for the content, or is it genuine?
Im proud that I got everything correct for the elden ring geoguesser but disappointed that I know more about the elden ring map than the world itself 😭

You got way too mad at this to think it was awesome lol
Imagine they made one for Forspoken, no one would get anything correct because no one plays the game long enough to even remember the map.
I just tried it, and my best was 24k. Not bad ig
First?
I think the biggest challenge is finding the 2D map. I barely looked at it in my 270 hours in the game
Bro wat
probably spent 270 hours being lost 💀
You gotta use common sense aggy come on.
literally boring wtf was i thinking
It physically pains me when people who play a lot of a game pay so little attention to the actual game world that they are playing in. My duo for the seamless coop has beaten the game twice while I haven't even finished it, and yet he never knows where or what anything actually is unless it directly impacts his specific build. Like, why do do some people play open world games if they're just going to play it like a linear progression game?
Not to say this guy does the same, but jeeze, some of his guesses took way too long to get not even all that close, like he glanced at the map and his starting point for half a second, explored the area a bit, and said "somewhere around here" without actually taking in any of the information to make an accurate guess.
Why doesn't everyone play the game like you arbitrarily think people should? Great question
