Things have changed for the better since I was there in 87. They really try to teach the right way and the equipment looks the best. I think everyone should have to do this in one form or another in the United States.

Damn i hope so. This video makes BCT look kindergarten friendly. I would go for the USMC instead but i want to be in spec ops (SF is my goal but 1st i'm focusing on education & wrestling in high school then i'll worry about the ASVAB, BCT, AIT, Airbourne school, RASP & Ranger training, then SFAS & SF training)

The purpose of basic is to develop proficiency with weapons and other equipment and some degree of physical conditioning. It's purpose is not to gratify the egos of immature, chest-pounding bullies who pick on 17-year olds for amusement.

11X Benning Aug 13th 2018 I know this vid is 5 years old. May they cut no slack on the infantry! just because of modern times, female integration, and relatively "peace" time. I'm hopeful they treat us with dignity in regards that they beat us to the dirt, and the strong rise as soldiers! not sugarcoat the whole thing making things easy.

Antonio Dill was one of my drill sergeants at Ft. Benning and that man was the best drill I ever had. Had him in basic and AIT. Really caring soldier for his boys that he was turning into men. I will always be a bravo Blackhawk and still miss the barracks I lived in. The starships they called them back then. Sure happy they tore down harmony church because that was the place we were going to go. Seen it before the demolition. If I could go back in time I still would have the same men that trained with me before. Just a bunch of good guy's. Damn I miss it

I went Army 11 bang bang and this is completely different from what I remember at Sam Hill. I'm guessing it's because of the recruitment video and also I joined in 2005 in the height of the Iraq/Afghanistan conflicts. It was a "High Stress" cycle because we were expected to ship out soon as we got to our units (most of us did...). That 50 cal mark-19 course they showed they didn't have any ammo for us to shoot cause it was over seas, only 1 guy got to shoot an AT-4, and our Drill Sgts were ruthless as fuck.

I know for a fact, whne the army represents itself in a video, they.make it friendly. When I got out of basic, I had a video of my training that everyone was entitled to (purchase). And I must say they made major cuts and made it seem easy. Of my last phase (gold phase 11b) we got smoked everyday. I was they would have shown day zero. One heck of an entry for basic training.

It's something you have to experience yourself and when you do you will be frustrated trying to make your family and friends understand what its like, but you can't. It's just something that you have to experience.

Well I missed my ship date, I spooked my self out, my friends have been making fun of me for joining the army, and ive been confused about the MOS i choose - i wanted to be a paratrooper. I didnt start freaking out until someone told me once you sign up you cant leave, then i got all this reverse psychoology. I dont know whats happening now, i regret not showing up for my ship date,

You aren't technically awol. If you are a no show they will just shred your paperwork. Not condoning your actions but until you arrive and swear in you are not obligated to shit

Refuse to train if things get bad. Stay out of your barracks if you think you're in danger. If you don't train, they'll cut you loose with an entry level separation which has no effect on your civilian record.

No the US army accepts foreigners. But why the US military? I know the UK has a military. Wouldn't you want to serve your country? What makes you want to join the US military?
