I cannot even watch one of episode with Ashton Kutcher. But, Charlie Sheen was frikin out of his mind drugged up, and they have a job to do, so he had to be let go. Been there done that and I am not Charlie Sheen, so he had to have been a real big extreme problem. But, I love the Charlie Harper Two and a Half Men.
I like the part of this episode where Alan buys all this stuff for Jake to soften the blow when Jake is told he is spending the night with his grandmother -- some great lines.

Evelyn Harper: but Judith was 2 days late and I had non refundable reservations. Like it would have killed her to get a C section! Charlie Harper: Self obsessed psychotic rant. Alan Harper: Mom, are you listening to yourself?! Charlie Harper: Stupid Question ... ... ... Akward Silence.
To me what made the show funny was the sibling rivalry. Charlie seemed to always be in control and Alan was always trying to keep up. When Charlie was out of the picture Alan became a sycophant out to take advantage of Austin Kutcher's character (so memorable I don't remember him). Bad idea. As the old saying goes, "If something works, don't fix it."
@Adam It was broke. Charlie Sheen was cracking up, and while Chuck Lorre seems to have a spite against him, he couldn't be expected to keep Sheen indefinitely.
You got the outdated saying, nowadays it is "if it aint broke, fix it until it is". People no longer know when to leave stuff alone. Saw this young man driving a vintage Volvo that was in good drivable condition and nice matte patina, all he had to do was to leave it alone, instead he smeared Rust Eater on the wheel arches, it penetrated and travelled under the paint, slowly turning the car into a weird black-brown sickly shit color. Just like Lorre changed this show and it soon turned into shit. Season 12 must be the worst season ever on any long running show, Lorre is a very sick man who dared think Charlie fans was into that shit.

And while Lorre is a rather vindictive person, I can't blame him for knowing that Charlie was out of control, they could not work with him any more and he had to go. So they then had the options of cancelling the show or trying a a new character and actor. I dont think it was much good after Ch left but it was clear that they could not go on iwht him....His next show Anger Management wasn't bad at first but seems like Charlie soon became impossible to work with again and it went downhill.
