- Inspired by the Burnout iceberg made by u/cboyjboy and the amazing video by @KevinNovaMST, i decided to make my own version featuring @TheJakeMG . I hope y'all like it!

Seriously though, good stuff. I had really good time doing the voiceovers and I think the presentation here is among some of the best I've seen for an iceberg video.

NFS Heat also has an achievement called "A Bit of Paradise" unlocked for smashing all the billboards, which I'm sure is a reference to Paradise and its billboard smashing.

What I'm getting from this iceberg is that if the devs have been given free reign over Burnout Paradise it could've been something way ahead of its time.
Fun fact: burnout paradise was the first ever free roam burnout game and it was the last game of its kind.

Plot twist: The chrome car is actually a ball porsche 996 that was hidden from nfs carbon lol
I really wish Criterion could have added all those crazy ideas to Paradise. I remember reading they had part of the moon surface rendered before scrapping that DLC entirely.

I wonder if the first Burnout didn't release in Japan because it was far too similar to Thrill Drive...
would've been nice to have multiple other dlc's like BSI, BSI is fun but it only stays exciting for so long

There were other islands planned too. Off road and race circuit were the notable examples.

I'm surprised that glitches and whatnot aren't covered in the iceberg. Players at the time should remember how big and ridiculous Burnout Paradise glitches were.
Yeah, the only reason why I got the remaster is because it was even more broken then the original and now I could bring the glitches online
I would've never imagined that there is an iceberg of these amazing and nostalgic racing games, I'm so thankful YT recommended me this video, I loved it.

This explains why the cover art of a wrecked Jansen X-12 had a lot more damage on it than what can happen in game. despite the toning down, the game still has pretty much the best looking damage in a racing game till today

It feels like the cut challenges might have been the original way to unlock the upgraded versions of cars in Paradise before Burning routes were a thing. Unless burning routes were there from the start.
16:25 I think this might also be in the final version of B3, or at least there's one that sounds very similar to it, I know I've heard that truck horn during impact time several times on my ps2
The emergency services and screams would give the game a really, really dark feel in my opinion, now it seems like a fun racing and crashing game without the thought of actual human casualties, there are no visible drivers in Paradise City, you can tell yourself the cars could be radio controlled or something, nothing dark
My headcanon is that Paradise City is actually the afterlife for stunt drivers and car enthusiasts, and their spirits are the cars you see.

One thing a lot of people don't remember is Burnout Paradise Gameplay would sometimes play in The Sims: 3. You have a chance to activate this when a sim would use a game console.
I discovered recently the Montgomery Hawker is a original car from The Sims 2. It blowed my mind.

Take in mind if you understand the burnout lore , paradise was supposed to be like in the future. So because it’s in the future I guess time travel existed.

I’ve actually heard both versions back to back. The more “disturbing” sounds are softer and further down the mix compared to beta.

It's a shame that the cut content for Burnout Paradise was put into the game, they could've at least added some of them in the Remaster, especially the cars ripped in half

Well this is cool! I've always loved the Burnout series growing up, and I still do, so I absolutely love to see a deep dive into the franchise, also the fact we were supposed to get the R160 in Burnout Paradise but didn't is genuinely frustrating to me lol
Another burnout reference you missed is in nfs payback there's few of them such as
The class D rusty looking truck (I forgor the name💀)
And a paradise city license plate
I blame EA for not having enough hope for Burnout Paradise. For today Burnout will work out extremely perfectly. Imagine the new areas, new cars/cosmetic for the cars. EA needs to listen

Love the Iceberg, but you should tackle more on the last part of this video. Thrill Drive was my childhood when arcades are still a thing and when I heard therr will be a game similar to it (Bornout) I was hyped.

I think those screams and unsettling soundscapes for Impact Time was left over from Burnout 3's "Crash + Burn" development phase which definitely channeled more of "Thrill Drive", one of the games that inspired the whole series.

I honestly came for the forza horizon music. But I coincidentally saw the word burnout and watched this epic video. Thanks you so much. Burnout 3 was the game that really got me into gaming. And burnout 3, revenge , dominator and paradise are my most played games. I relived my beautiful burnout memories through this video. Thank you so much again.

Funfact : one of nakamura brand car is existed in Burnout Revenge, it's the Tuned R180 ST,the brand badge in the car is similar to nakamura in paradise.
Also the car is named Nakamura S23 GT
I really wished the cut content from Paradise would've been brought back in development for the remaster. Especially since the hardware the remastered version is on can handle way more than the original hardware that the original game was on.
The Factory R160 ST was probably reworked into the Carson 500GT considering both looks very similiar to a ford gt

burnout paradise was the first burnout game that i ever played and its a very big part of my childhood and the fact that they scrapped a lot of good ideas for this game made me really sad and this game looks like it will never be updated again :(

It's a video the Criterion channel itself posted about the development of the game, but it was removed a long time ago, and that picture is from u/Ben0ut, an ex employee from Criterion. Checked everywhere to find that video, even on r/lostmedia but i couldn't find it. Maybe it'll resurface one day!

It was a great Iceberg from Burnout geez a deleted dlc time travel this dlc is when you get back in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005 Burnout Games i don't know why added this on the iceberg we need the Part 2 with some deleted heavy cars from Burnout Paradise and the Formula One or ChampCART cars from the third Burnout and the lastest Burnout and other things 😀
