  • After spending a week in the 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch we were left thinking about how the Bronco sizes up to the updated 2024 Jeep Wrangler. So we decided to compare the two products, as each one is dependent on the other for competition.
So watch the full video and let us know in the comments what you think of the updated 2024 Wrangler and how it compares to the Bronco.

It’s getting to the point that I’m not sure the mechanical capabilities of vehicles are even worth comparing these days. With the computer and technology malfunctioning rate increasing, nothing works unless the computer does. Jeep and others certainly have their issues. I guess I’ve become a bit pessimistic about modern vehicles. Seeing the recalls, non start situations, brand new vehicles needing towed, all due to computer problems, it’s just hard to focus on the fun stuff when the most basic of things like starting, can be an issue

Great video Stephen , the only thing i would change on the Bronco is stick with the 2.3 echo boost it has plenty of power for my needs and most people, i drove my friends son's Bronco with the 2.3 and 10 speed auto with the Sasquatch package with the hardtop and there is no lack of pickup on the road or merging onto the highway ,and it even came close to to the transport Canada fuel rating, i just would pick a different colour, Jeeps JK or JL are terrible on road, way too twitchy and don't like the death wobble and the Jeep's front seats aren't comfortable compared to the Bronco's, they are way better, they are both too much money, hopefully pricing will stabilize soon and be able to afford one 👍

During the powertrain section, it's worth mentioning that Ford is one step away from having a recall on the 2.7 and 3.0 ecoboost engines. The government has been slow-walking this since 2022, but it's now in the formal "engineering analysis" phase of determining if the numerous valve issues reported between 2022 and early 2023 warrant a recall.

I had that exact Bronco. The top, the door frame, the interior materials are horrible. The layout is good; the lockers turn off and on quickly, and it genuinely drives good down the road but overall Ford has some work to do on engines that are blowing up, materials inside a 60k vehicle and sorting some of the front suspension pieces that break when off roading. I currently have a 2024 4xe Willy’s and it’s simply put together better plus on the 2024 they fixed the steering it’s very tight, the screen is great update, addition of side curtain airbags (yes it’s about time), and for the first time a switchable rear locker without having to buy a rubicon. I love the Bronco, and in theory it should be a better DD because of the IFS. Unfortunately, I don't think the build quality is there. Even in this video, look at the top, it looks like a poorly fitting aftermarket top (I actually wish they offered this with a steel roof to compete with the 4Runner) and numerous videos have pointed out the poor quality of interior materials. Also, I know a Badlands owner, he showed me runs in the factory paint, and about an hour after that he got stuck in about 8 inches of mud and blew the front diff, I had to drag him backwards up a muddy hill with my 10-year-old, 165k mile 4runner. I still love the idea of the Bronco, it looks amazing, I love that you can get 35s stock, but for challenging off-roading the Wrangler is still the way to go.

Both Ford and Jeep look way better in the two door version. The four door looks awful on both. I would also get the hardtop on either one.

Well, for starters, why is it that Ford can’t build a vehicle without a bunch of serious flaws. The Bronco needs $10,000 in upgrades and repairs before you can use it. The Jeep needs nothing, to be better off-road.

Uhhh really?? All of those features and more Steve highlighted are standard factory items. What 10,000.00 upgrades are you referring to?

Jeep is struggling just to keep pace. This is why they gave the 2024 Wrangler a polish, but you can't polish a turd. Okay, you can polish a turd but it's still a turd. The wrangler is planed for a major overhaul of chassis geometry and cabin size increase. Only then will they be able to truly compete with the Bronco, people want larger vehicles that are capable off-road and the Jeep on the inside is simply way too small.

Let me guess you live in a country with few trees and wide open off road trails .

@@rodgoodI bet I live somewhere with way more trees, and the bronco to Jeep ratio is like five to one .

They are both so toyish come apart like a Lego ....they are kids vehicles; nobody over 35 should drive either as a daily so many better options out there for less $ that can do the same thing
