Make way for the queen!! She is truly regal. Her darling little evening dress combined with her magnificent bolero is just exquisite. I'm so ready to party with her.

Every time I see this doll I get some major Audrey Hepburn vibes, I think it's the updo hairstyle with the little tiara.That hair reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in the movie War and Peace (just the hair, not the dress). Hello friend! Yes, indeed, she does have Audrey in her. I actually mentioned that in my video but then edited it out as I thought it sounded lame. You're right though--it's the updo and tiara, her bangs in particular. She wore a dress similar to this in Love In The Afternoon which I loved so much. Thanks for watching, as always! Seriously, Something Princess Margaret would have worn! I bought two of these beauties I love the fringe of the lace hanging on the ends. I thought the jacket could have used a hook and eye closure. For some reason I thought one of these dolls in this series should have had a charm bracelet. Thank you so much for this wonderful review she is one of my favorites!

Yes, yes, yes about The Crown. I posted in Robert Best's instagram suggesting The Crown inspired fashion similar to Mad Men and he "liked " it. I hope they do it. So many fashions there that are in the Silkstone world. Love your reviews as always Suresh! Love the fashion cutaways, the detailed analysis of the dress which only makes us more attentive to what we buy. Sadly agree with the diminishing attention of Mattel for this line. I don't mind if they released one if that one doll was a magnificent tour de force of expression of Barbie as a long-standing iconic brand! Thank you for brightening up my stressful week!

TOTALLY watching The Crown. Love it. I also really love Victoria. I guess I really like shows about British royals.
I have this Silkstone too, but this one I actually purchased back in the day. I just thought she was really pretty. I have always meant to slightly tweak her bangs and her chignon, but I haven't ever gotten around to it, so I guess it didn't bother me too much. I don't think I ever undressed her, so it's nice to see all her garments up close. Love her petticoat. I also never realized how well-finished the gown itself is. Thanks for showing us all the gory details on these dolls. :)

I remember when I got this doll that I really liked her hair color and outfit, especially the tiara!. My favorite of all the Silks I´ve had is Pretty Pleats. Still have her gorgeous outfit and my IT dolls wears it sometimes :)
Even though I no longer collect on Silks I long to see new dolls with the same quality as the old ones.

No--I sold my company in 2013 and it was turned into another brand which is now primarily sold in Europe. And thanks, I love this bow tie. It's Ike Behar.

Anthony her box motif is pretty but lookis too contemporary.. i like it but i prefer if theyll design it in a way that it screams classics.. the dress is so boring .

Idk if you are in the Barbie Fan Club, but she only just became available on the official site after being available on multiple other sites for the past month or so. Yet, Mattel is claiming it is available to the Platinum first then the gold, then to the public. It also cannot be used with quarterly rewards if you are at platinum status without adding additional items, which would just mean getting the cheaper item for free while Elegant Rose would be the same price.
There are a lot of angry silk stone collectors. I got her for $25 a month ago on Amazon with a gift card. She definitely isn't worth the $75 price point. I just joined W- Club from Integrity Toys, so I will see if that fairs better than better in the long run than my Platinum membership from Barbie lol
Ohhh THAT drama. Yea I was so confused when I saw photos of her popping up in early December last year but yet Mattel didn't say a peep. And yes, I noticed that she doesn't count my quarterly rewards unless I spend $100 which is so lame. I just joined W Club, too. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer because I really think that Mattel is trying to drive all the collectors away so they can focus on fashion money dolls like Playline and Fashionistas. Such a disappointment.
Also, I am not totally in love with the new Silkstone. I still haven't purchased her and am just kinda eh about her.
I think you are probably right about them trying to drive away the collectors. Though, while play line probably does make the most money it has gone down hill itself. I cannot get into the Fashionistas. I bought one and was turned off completely by how cheap it felt. I used my quarterly reward on two out of the three Wrinkle in Time dolls.
Elegant Rose has a very pretty face and thicker hair than many of the dolls from last year, but the dress is a mess. It's just sad seeing Barbie go down hill all over.
Hopefully, we both enjoy W Club! I got all three of the upgrade dolls. Poppy Parker is going to be making a lot of money off me this year, I love MOD era clothes lol
Please, does she have the same skin tone as Gala Gown? I really need a silkstone doll that has Peach tone, but I don't have a complete list of dolls with that skin tone. The only ones I know that are Peach are:

SKY HIGH I know! Which makes me all the more thankful that I have her. Yea I'm not so thrilled with the 2018 Silkstone. Haven't bought her yet and just not really in a rush I guess. We'll see.

Fabric selection is much worse this days, classic black dress felt like made out of a toiletry bag, I've only seen Elegant Rose in pics,, but it seems to have that plastic-y quality. I guess the new bodies are more expensive to produce and they reduced costs on the outfits.
Toiletry bag?? Haha! Yes, the fabric on Classic Black dress was quite thick but a nice taffeta all the same. It probably wasn't the best selection for that dress though. Elegant Rose looks cute but I'm not that wow'd by her just yet. We shall see.
