I remember playing this for the first time. Loved the whole Mayan Calendar thing they cashed in on. This was back when every new AC game made you go "Oh my god! I can't wait to see what happens next! This story can really go somewhere amazing!" back when Desmond was still in the series and now it's just like "I can't wait to see what setting I get to be in with some lame backstory I barely give half an ass about that's there for god knows what reason."
This scene BLEW MY 13-YEAR-OLD BRAIN AWAY. Just realizing "Holy shit, we're in the modern-day and I'm an Assassin" was insane after being stuck in a lab setting for a few actual years! It felt so freeing and meaningful and impactful. Here we are! Look at the Skyline! WOW!

Imagine if Desmond's body decides to give in when he tries to pull himself up on one of those beams.
Desmond may have his ancestor's climbing skill, but his muscle isn't trained to withstand that.
What makes you say that? You're just making that up.
@@philosotree5876 Desmond was fat (or lack muscle from his dissection photo in AC4) and was incapable of fighting properly before getting bleeding effect from the animus. While fighting is more about skills and posture that Desmond could master with ease, climbing requires muscle conditioning and stamina obtained from long time experience, which Desmond could not obtain from laying on the animus.
Parkouring in a Cathedral and the colosseum with limited verticality is impressive , but scaling a skyscraper is much more demanding on his stamina.
Though Desmond could have trained up his body in between games, it is still funny to think that his body cannot keep up with his skill and failed him in the a crucial moment
@@primalforlorn Come to think of it, they should've showed Desmond building up muscle as preparation for his missions. That would've showed character progression. He started out having no ambition, so he obviously wouldn't be going to the gym. But if they showed him actually training for his role as an Assassin, it would've showed that he now does have the ambition, and the care to work to become the best version of himself he can be for the sake of the Assassin's cause.
@@philosotree5876 I agree. Imagine a true, faithful remake to the Desmond games like the Resident Evil games, that improve upon all of the characters including Desmond, Ezio - a reboot of sorts, but I doubt Ubisoft is capable of doing that.

Then they got rid of the creator of the assassin's creed game before AC3, because the corporation wanted to become more of a pocket game.

@@BVR2451 He's likely coming back, he is The Reader in AC Valhalla (not sure but same voice actor) and Ubisoft just introduced the multiverse in AC Valhalla, he might be living in a different timeline when he doesn't choose to save the world. Just some Doctor Strange shit.

they killed of Desmond......
Which is exactly why killing him way the wrong decision. They could've made him a background character who suffered from the event severely while having the bleeding affect slowly getting worse if they wanted a trade. Drag out his suffering but make it so he contributes to the story in some way.
He doesn't have to make an appearance outright. There could just be mention of him and affects of what he did.
Killing him off, when you think about it, if somewhat merciful compared to what they may have done to him after getting rid of the original creator now that I think about it. He went with the creator and the main storyline, the forgotten and unknown soldier of the assassin's who protected humanity from extinction.
Original plot was a time travel with Desmond to first Civilisation era. Plot changed after they fired out Desilets of the project just to continue the Animus travel in every place (3,4,unity,syndicate.....)
Va te actually this kind of thing is what most companies and networks do. Instead if being a trailblazer, making something unique that works and people are really interested and will go for, something that will gain traction in it's own way and pace a new way for products and producers they look at other products and measure it to them. See that this thing that has been running for a very short time isn't as nearly as accomplished or successful as this other game or show that has been out for a while and has had the time for people to get used to and love.
For example: Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, and a few other tv platforms often cancel shows before they can gain ground because "they don't have the same ratings as Spongebob" when that show has literally been around for years, been basically given the spotlight on Nickelodeon, and it being comedic and colorful which lots of kids will watch because they feel that there's nothing better to do then watch TV and that show is distracting.
