i think this has one of the best reformulations of vintage stuff out there. wearing theyre a little different but if you smell the atomizers theyre identical to me. great video dude
Yeah you can’t go wrong either way, happy to have a vintage but the current is great and I finished that one
On me the new one smells just like Gillette shaving foam in the drydown. 😄 I kinda prefer the opening. But the bottle really is solid and the scent itself is still miles better than most modern sweet stuff. Didn't love it when I was younger, but it seems that I just wasn't ready for it. I certainly am now!

I have not tried the vintage pour lui but I am an absolute fan of the present version!So dark, deep, rich and yes, a classy barbershop scent vibe to it.
I have all the men’s offerings from Oscar de la Renta. Can’t be wrong with that name. The one I got last was the pour lui fresh which to me is very similar to Bleu de Chanel. It isn’t that great but good for hot and humid summers.

This is a great frag if your getting back into vintage 80's or 90's scents, it doesn't have any course opening. It's very nice, pick it up and add to your collection. Got current one for $19.95 at drug store 👍
Hey Kelan, I’ve never known any fragrance reviewer use as much juice as you manage to use. I am so impressed. Most reviewers have tiny dents in their bottles. Great to see you really heavily use your fragrances alas you know how they perform. I was most impressed with that huge bottle of Canoe with a massive dent in. Seriously impressive.
Watch Curly Fragrance. She uses 30-40 sprays at a time. No joke. Watch her spray routine video
@@Anthony_Spilotro Ha ha yes I have watched Curly spray crazy lady. Kelans has loads of fragrances and they are always well used. He had a 6 ounce bottle of Canoe that was nearly empty. Even if you just used that one Fragrance it would last a year. How does he use so much juice?
I like it because some reviewers perhaps wear something just a couple of times and review. Kelan must bath in it making him superbly placed to leave honest reviews. I am a 10 to 14 spray man and I struggle to make any major dents. What a legend. 😂
I have the Made in France version (Parfums Stern) of Pour Lui; it smells so nice.

Dude, thanks so much for these reviews. I have the current formulation and I love it. My buddy showed up with the vintage and after smelling that one, I had to get it as well.. went online and got two 50ml vintage formulations for 40 euros. I’d say that’s cheap

After watching this vid I'm definitely going to try the Vintage (as soon as I get money and get off my lazy arse) because I really like the new version (after getting it from watching ur vids thank you) but I feel like it's missing some depth which it sounds like from what you are saying the vintage might have. Anteus is an absolute beast, has serious depth and I absolutely freakin love it and I can understand how some would think there is some similarity in scent between the 2 (some similar herbal qualities). Thanks Kelan for all your insight and vids!
Don’t worry everybody there still deals on the Vintage one. I was just on eBay and found a brand new tester bottle of the vintage formulation for $15. Cannot wait to experience it. I do actually like the modern version but I do agree it only lasts about four hours on my skin.

I only have the modern formulation and it dries down to a nice soapy barbershop talc with that cinnamon-like patchouli vibe. I have also gotten compliments with this one. I wished I could get some aftershave and deodorant to layer with the fragrance. The body wash is awesome.

I'm a fan of this fragrance. Reminds me of a bar of luxury soap you find in a 5-star hotel.

ODLR Pour Lui is one of my favs. On my second bottle.
I have the parfums stern skinny bottle and the modern one short bottle, if you hold both of them up to a light the parfum stern liquid is green vs inter parfums which is clear.

I think the current version is horrible ! Projection and longevity on me are just bad. I have 2 Stern era bottles, which aren’t even the oldest, and they are so much better !
Hmm I think the current is just fine and it lasts a while on me but I get it’s different for everyone
Not a fan of the opening but personally, I find the dry-down is on par with Tom Ford oud wood. Have both and on me at least, almost indistinguishable the next day.

Good vid man. I don't personally know Pour Lui and i wanted to buy it since i deepy enjoy predominant aromatic leather fragrances. I was about to buy it or buy something like Halston Z14 but i finally didn't because Fragrantica comments said the performance on them in current formula was bad. The closest i have to this is Quorum but it has a very raw leather note, not as aromatic or realistic as in other perfumes. Has a ton of tobacco and pine as well. Do you recommend this Pour Lui as a good realistic leather scent? Or better the Halston?
I have only known modern formulas of the powerhouses i own. Gentleman, Polo, Quorum, Agua Brava. Only vintage i have is a Salvador Dali For Him from the 1990's, amazing leather creation.

I recently reviewed this one as well, I find it to be like Antaeus lite...not great performance. That's a modern bottle. Would love to try the vintage.

I'm not fan of them unfortunately, very powdery synthetic smell. Davidoff much better from the 80s as well in similar price range.
Did not like this one..initial opening gagged me..urinal cake smell..the dry down was just ok.
