The XT-xx 2 digit used to be an affordable camera for camera enthusiasts. Now Fuji ruins it by jacking up the price excessively. It's too expensive for a camera enthusiasts. Crazy pricing! $1400?? Really?
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, most things are more expensive than they used to be. I hear you, but a less than 30% increase in 9 years doesn’t seem excessive, compared to a lot of other products out there. That’s actually less than the annual inflation rate increase from 2015-2024. Not saying that we should all jump for joy, but that’s our reality these days. ☹️
Just got back from a trip to Europe taking over a 1000 photos with a used Fuji x-e4. Great travel camera at a great price.
That sounds like an awesome trip! Bacon 2013, I did a cycling trip in Europe with the X-E1, so I can relate!! Where did you go on your trip and what lenses did you have with you?
@@DanBaileyPhoto 18-55 and 27mm 2.8. Went on a river cruise from Amsterdam to Switzerland. Tulips, windmills, castles, cathedrals, medieval villages and the Alps!
I'm a HUGE fan of that tiny little 27mm f/2.8 lens. Do you have the original one or the newer weather sealed version?
Thanks Dan...nice video...is the X-T50 made in Japan? Greatings from the Netherlands!
Hi Jan! I don’t know, I haven’t seen it in person yet. Hope you’re doing well! What are you shooting these days?
@@DanBaileyPhoto Hi Dan ...in my pond i have salamanders...difficult to shoot..i also shot some spring flowers...my project at this moment is to shoot old houses build in the early 1930's englisch garden style. But to much rain the last week 's 😞
Those all sound like fun creative projects! I hope the weather cooperates for you in the coming weeks.
All it needed was weather sealing and 3.69 EVF but they throttled the XT5 too much so stunted two cameras instead of one.
Thanks for your comment. I think the 50 is a very good upgrade from the X-T30, but as with every new release, they never make 100% of the people 100% happy. As a longtime X-T user, I don’t feel limited by the X-T5 at all, but that’s just me. What are you shooting with these days?
@@DanBaileyPhoto XH2S, XT4 and Canon R5 and Canon 6D. I had the lower res EVF on the A7iii and after I bought the X100V I couldn’t use anything lower than 3.69.. I bought the 6D for when I absolutely need an amazing viewfinder experience. It’s just my touch-point.
With the GFX100sII having the XH2S EVF I’m tempted. I’m a very proud XT user but will wait for the XT6 as I felt the XT5 was an upgrade path for XT3 users more than XT4 users. Hope that makes sense.
I’d love to see a Fuji XT-L
A 5 series generation camera..or 6 … an XT-5 but with the XT1 or XT2 sensor.
I think I’d Fuji-Folk are a special breed and hopefully Fujifilm cultivate their fanatics rather than expanding their market reach.
I completely understand the current generation XT5, XT50, XE4, X100IV, XH2 and the S were all about broadening X series market penetration to propel the imaging division into the future.
L standing for Legacy.
An X-TL is an interesting idea, but in my mind, every single X-T camera is a "Legacy" model, since they build over 90 years of history into each camera.
And even though I loved the X-T1, I've used every single X-T model since then, and I just don't see that the X-T1 sensor had any special magic that makes it better than the newer sensors. Sure, it was totally magical at the time, but I think our own sense of nostalgia makes us think that it had some special sauce that then newer models don't have. They all have that special sauce in my book. 😀
@@DanBaileyPhoto personally I agree with you. My dream Fuji would be $3000 and I’m okay with. Premium build quality XT5 with a 9mp EVF, CF express, XH2S buffer, and 3mp rear screen and JPEG settings with 0.5 increments (colour + 1.5, if that makes sense)
Can only dream eh!?
I’ll definitely be getting the 16-50- but really hope a next generation 16-80 F4!
When are you coming to mountain bike Australia/NZ ?
Nice shirt!
I went down to Phoenix twice this winter/spring! Is it ghastly hot there yet? ☀️🌵
@@DanBaileyPhoto If you come back, give me a shout! It’s triple digits today. I was just in New York where it was 30 or 35 degrees cooler, so it’s just brutal. 🤣
Yikes!! I came down in Feb for a mountain bike race and then again at the end of March for more dry sunny mountain biking, since we still had snow and winter here in Alaska during that time! 🤣
wish it had the same battery as x-t5
That would be convenient, but I think they used the NP-126S to save size and weight. The new cameras have vastly improved battery performance over the older models, so in a way it makes sense to use the smaller battery. It’s also a benefit to X-T20/30 users who are planning to upgrade to the 50.
Really want the XPro 4….
You, and a lot of other people! It was usually more time between X-Pro models, But I’m sure we’ll see a 5th GEN version at some point. What are you shooting with right now?
@@DanBaileyPhoto I have the XPro 1~3 bodies and just bought the XT5 for Landscape photography
1080p?
Yes, in addition to 4K and 6.2K, the X-T50 will shoot 1080p Full HD 17:9 and 16:9 video at up to 360Mbps bit rate.
Haha! Yea, I always shoot in 1080. I don’t think that me in 4K would improve my videos at all. 😂😆
Love the T-shirt. How do I get one ?
Not sure. I don't know if Fuijfilm sells them. However, there are some really cool Fuji T-Shits here: www.redbubble.com/shop/fujifilm+x+t-shirts
Is it true recipes can't be saved?
Recipes can’t be saved to the Film Sim dial, but they can be saved to the C1-7 slots like on any other model. What Fuji are you currently using?
@@DanBaileyPhoto xt30, might go xt5 instead of the xt50, like the x100 vi also, any thoughts?
The main T models have always been my go-to Fuji cameras, so yea, I have no trouble at all advocating for an X-T5. The T-50 will be s great little camera, but for not that much more money, you get a more rugged body, weather sealing, 2 card slots higher res EVF and a dedicated ISO dial.
Thanks Dan - love your review knowing your fab history with this series. Awesome!
@bonnemarie, thanks so much for your comment! Glad you enjoyed this. What Fuji are you shooting with these days?
