“Get a damn LAN adapter”
Tell Nintendo to release their damn consoles with an Ethernet port. There’s no reason the dock shouldn’t have one
It's baffling, really. Nintendo loves selling their adapters though. I still have ptsd from playing crystal chronicles with my siblings
Its just so annoying when it truly feels like you cant control your character in the way you want to. Plus the lag causes you to miss time your shield inputs and spacing. You know you can beat the person but the game is not letting you
Ever consider the fact that they're playing with the exact same handicaps?
@@FabulousJejmaze He's talking about those people that use chars that use super obvious moves that you can avoid, but due to lag they spam those they connect and win.
the amount of times lag has fucked up my counters on wifi has made me go fucking insane
Then be nes or same character and get gud
Worst experience was me as rob vs a ridley on bi-plane map who could camp on the lower platform and i could not approach with any move to take his stock. He took my first stock and then camped for the remainder of the 7min match
Solution: quit out lol. You can get banned for 30 minutes or something if you have done it before and your GSP goes down but their GSP doesn't go up and that's all that matters to me lol.
Call me a coward idc if they are gonna play like that they don't deserve a win against me. Oh how satisfying it is knowing they got nothing from fighting me
@@Nobody-yj8yq Ethically you're right, but those bans do go up over time if you do it too much. I wouldn't recommend the risk.
@@Jacksaur_ Yeah but they also go down after some time so just don't be salty and quit out on every person you encounter lol
My most frustrating experience on wifi? Dealing with people spamming Charizard's Flare Blitz.
Something that frustrates me is that some characters become so damn difficult on wifi. Like shotos are harder online because parrying is harder. I find sheik and meta knight harder to play too
Im a ken main and its very tough to play him right if it’s laggy
Maybe it's just Elite Smash but I get absolutely tilted playing online. I can't control my character like I want and I swear my brain goes into dummy mode. Then so many players do one match and just leave.
Hey guys!
Please give me feedback on the video. If you enjoyed this content which is different from tutorials or just gameplay let me know and I can cover other topics in the game/community in a rant format!
Jtails yeah man this was super entertaining and interesting
Yes please do guide on how to beat ness, sonic, lucas. And all those other spammy character
coming within the next 7 days! Hopefully before monday!
Lucas not even a good character I tired to use him so much he is just bad
Jtails don’t forget zelda and ganon
...Looks at Samus
How to beat Ness: 1. Know his kit, especially PK fire. Attack wisely. 2. Try to get him offstage and catch his second jump. His distance with PK Thunder is much worse than Lucas, and he doesn’t have a tether. This is the perfect opportunity to whack him and let him die. You can even hit him during PK thunder if you use a disjointed hitbox and practice hitting him. Plus, even if he hits you, you still block his way back to the stage. (I don’t recommend this with Lucas).
Personally, I find offline much better than online because it just feels more like smash to me
The weird thing is, I'd put money on 80% of the people in the comments saying stuff like "Online means nothing" and "Elite Smash doesn't gauge real skill!" have never been to an offline event and are trying to cushion their egos taking so many Ls
Lol that's also really true I guess they're just the most vocal most of the time
I've been to many massive locals that past 5 years and I can definitely say online smash doesn't translate to local play. The people you face online for the most part are people that would lose in a tournament withing 3 rounds. Online is very different from in person with the lag and no lag. Online even if you don't feel the laggy there is still is lag because it takes about 8 extra milliseconds (very noticeable from online to offline) for your game to register the imput vs offline. I'm not great at the game but I'm in the top 80% that plays Smash. Online is fun to pass time and text out characters but Areas are were you face people that will be similar to people you face at tournaments because areas have the least amount of lag and if its a good smash twitch streamer the area will be full of great opponents.
Somehow Smash 3ds Online was the best online Smash has ever had.
SSBU online is straight trash. I love SSB but the online connectivity issues kills the multiplayer for me. Unfortunate
To kill time and have fun? Absolutely.
To accurately gauge your skill, not in a million years.
You have fun online?
Have fun, hehehe.
@@XC11301991 I play K. Rool. It's hard NOT to have fun with this character.
For glory was the closest to getting good online because of the features, the online was always bad...
The small town example applies to me except, the tourneys here don’t even happen in my state cause it’s just a small village so I’ve been a WiFi warrior since sm4sh and this is the only way I have to play offline
This doesn't seem to be a problem for games such as Mario Kart or Luigi's Mansion, but because this is a fighting game (because that's what it is, shut up) this was bound to happen.
for a long time now i thought that my 30+ years honed gamer skills, were failing on me because sometimes i press a button, or flick the stick.
and nothing happens.
THIS!!!!!
Comparing Smash’s online to other fighting games is like comparing a campfire to a star. SFV’s online is an exception
I stopped playing smash 4 (and later ultimate) when i realized i will never be able to play online without it feeling like absolute garbage. Watching you kids play "wi-fi" in 10+ frames of lag saying "it's not that bad" is so depressing to me.
JTails my man, keep these videos coming!
You’re keeping me sane! 😂
I appreciate you brother
Jtails the thanks is all for you! 😎👍
Appreciate all you do! Love your tutorials, I learned a ton of smash through you.
Horrid online aside, I love that sad ass brawl Mario in the thumbnail lmao
Imagine being a WiFi warrior in brawl..that must have been a pain
oh it was painful!!
What nobody realized is that "Ultimate" in the title stands for the lag only
Even though we are in quarantine I never get tired of the game infact I was playing one of my friends in smash ultimate and it felt so good because I’m used to play him at work but now my work is unavailable right now. When I’m at work I help people in a lot of ways, especially helping people with video games if their interested in video games, because some people have bad hand coordination, me especially so video games helps me in a lot of ways but getting back to what your saying bro, although I play people right now on WiFi I play smash bros ultimate locally. Although I never been to a tournament
Basically ultimate is already a laggy-ass game and online exasperates the problem.
I've had the ethernet adapter since Smash 4, and it never seemed to do anything, so I stopped using it since It's a pain to have hooked up. I wish that Nintendo would fix their online, because it is really bad, to the point that I don't even enjoy playing online and had to stop playing my favorite game.
Use it, trust me. The more people online using adapters the smoother the online would be. I can definitely tell the game feels much smoother when I play with friends using ethernet adapters. The switch has a shit wifi card, and the more people using wifi when they could be using ethernet doesn’t help
Use it
@XenoSmasher sooooo you’re the reason online is so horrible. Smh lol
Different environments call for different sets of skills. I think it's analogous to playing sports in different altitudes.
ouu I really love this analogy!
Offline is a whole different vibe , once you enter the zone, start learning and growing, it becomes addicting
Fuck wifi (; I play wifi all day tho );
Online play is like back in the day when your friend gave you the broken controller. You’re playing 3 times harder just to keep up.
Lag is every gamers worst enemy
I was just playing online untill I got kicked off for 44 minutes because the match was too laggy.
Lmao.It happens to me then i get because of unsportsman like conduct.Online sucks and its laggy
How did you get kicked out for 44 min??
@@errrcc first time is 30 mins and then it just keeps going up I believe
Nobody yeah I know how it works. I was wondering how you got kicked out the first time and the ones after that??
Don't make your wifi worse by using a regular television with its own input lag. I just switched from my smart tv (25ms latency) to my gaming monitor (5ms latency) and it makes a world of difference online.
The mmbn theme playing. I miss that series!
such a great series!!
I main Isabelle and right now i can't even get to Elite smash. I took a longer break and now you need to win a lot to get to Elite smash. After i win some games i que against the laggiest people and it's very frustrating. They spam moves and there's nothing i can do because of the 1-2 seconds input lag. I just wish online was better. After all we pay for it now but nothing changed
4:35 That sound.......it made my left index twitch o.o
I remember being kirby on 3ds and dominating
My worst experiences were with sonic and I not got 10% on him and same thing with a duck hunt player too 😭
i remember that stream with the jv4
The whole reason it’s an issue is because every match is slightly different and connections can vary wildly, so the combos you had down the game before, suddenly have a slightly different latency and boom, I drop it.
I like the game but dude this garbage Nintendo Online just make me dont want to play for weeks.
great video, and i subbed, but just a side question- (what is that song in the first 13 seconds of the video? i kinda like it)
I have an idea! Can you enter online tournaments and try to win? If you do well there, it would be nice to see you playing offline once it is possible. Maybe use this as a chance to come back? Anyway, anti character guides interest me a lot. And I have a question: why do some of your guides show really simple stuff, like cloud up b out of shield as a top 5 things to do, even though you are really good (I have seen some crazy Smash 4 stuff from you)? I expected less beginner stuff from a super pro.
I don't plan on coming back to competing. Also can't compete offline because of quarantine. but I did enter an offline event in New York City in February, and got 13th/87.
As for online event, I entered quarantine series and got 255/4000 lol. I HATE ONLINE.
The thing is, this game is super simple. this game isn't complicated. I don't do ANYTHING crazy to win matches. How I play in tournament is pretty much the same way I play in general. just adapting well, playing smartly, and using simple/effective options. There's not a lot to this game.
@@JulesTrades oh I didn't know that you entered. Your match wasn't on CZcams, I would have watched it was. Can you upload any future tournament matches (online of course) to your channel? And yes I hate online too. Maybe it will be fixed in the update in June along with bayo buffs hopefully.
Since you seem to have a good amount of controllers based on your videos, I have a question. I found a 20 dollar (2200 yen) GameCube controller on Amazon Japan. Is it a scam? The seller is Amazon Japan, so it is going to be imported to east coast America from Japan. Do you think it will be worth it? Thank you.
Rollback net code largely resolves the conflict between online and offline skill sets.
100% if only they cared
Holy shit, I'm so happy to see Mewtwo gameplay from you! Wish it wasn't such a short tourney but I'll take what I can get. Good vid as always dude
How do you practice offline if you don't have anyone to play against? Cpu and practicing combos?
Great video, I agree wholeheartedly!
Do you think that you still learn some gameplay things FROM playing wifi that a player can carry into offline?
Yes 100% which is why I think it's a necessary evil unfortunately.
YES. Everyone needs to get a LAN adapter. Please.
Good takes. Love you
Nice video jtails
Will you be making more Elite Smash videos? We haven’t had those in a while
I loved this video :)
I find wifi-smash (or online in general that is,) is just not as strategically deep of a game. Most of the finesse of a character or a matchup gets lost in the lag imo.
I agree however, that it is a necessary evil to improve in the game as a competitive player.
Also Jtails i love your content. Nother better on smash anywhere else. Question how much time do you spend in training mode? I personally don't do it as often as i should because smash just becomes boring
well back when I was training to be the best!
I spent 30-60 minutes in training mode everyday. and then played against cpus for 30 minutes, then online/offline practice 2-3 hours a day.
and I made sure to lab stuff that I was working on.
I agree with everything you said in this video.
The gsp system is discouraging, and the way Nintendo made online nerfs
so many characters
Is it worth getting nimtemdo online for this game? Are there offline modes which can still be enjoyed?
give this man a dollar yall hes stahvin
plz support shaboi
Tell the dweebs to stop downloading porn while they're playing
Who tf downloads porn lol
What’s wrong with jerking off while playing smash at the same time?
I made it in the video!! 😂
could u do videos teaching us how to counter a certain character per video?
I ended up dropping my main pt... offline I can get my combos off with squirtle and punish whiffs but online squirtle feels like trash. Now I play samus who I feel more comfortable with online
Maybe you should try pointing out that with 110 k subscriber, if every one gave 1$ every *_year,_* you would have a 110k salary.
This reminds me that i plan to donate quite a bit of money to all the people i'm subbed when i can finally afford it. You're on the list, but i don't know how long it will take me, sorry.
That's another very good point haha
and no worries man I don't want anyone to feel the obligation. The faster I can also get to a good place, I'd love to give back more to you guys and the communities that I love so much.
Best wifi was brawl and 3ds was a close second
People complained about brawls online a lot in the past
Oh no! Brawl's was the worst! Brawl's was completely unplayable! Then again if I am remembering correctly, you couldn't have 1v1 matches set up, so every match was a four player free for all, which would explain partially why it was so bad.
Brawl had the worst wifi by a longshot. It was actually so terrible
Dude Brawl was literally unplayable. Terrible lag 5 times worst than ultimate.
You honestly forgot how bad Brawl online is..
Yes, playing online is bad, but don't blame developers so much. I am a game dev and web dev and it pains me to say, there is really only so much a dev can do. You can make the most responsive game with great online management, but there are tradeoffs. If you want to fight online globally, then there is going to be delay, even with the best connections ever, because that is how the internet works, there is delay. If you want the fastest connection with no frames of delay (which is unrealistic) you'd have to fight practically locally anyways. I think nintendo servers are most likely not the issue, just the distance and varying speeds of everyone's connections. I mean, if you force everyone to play on the best ethernet available, a small % of people will be able to play, and the others will have to wait a really long time in queues, only to have slightly more responsive gameplay. Anyway, rant over, I liked your video.
rob hela carried online
I wish I could go to smash events. I want to see if I stand a chance offline with the pros as a WFT main.
I hope you can make it to one too! Wiifit definitely gets buffed online, but it's also possible to do some damage offline! Best of luck :)
I honestly think online nerfs Link
Sheik high tier online ?? true combo are really hard
This game isn’t even bad if u have good internet lmao
It’s just as bad quit caping
It’s just as bad quit caping
If I want to play Smash Bros online yes
That first Zelda match was atrocious to watch
What's the name of the music in the background?
Megaman battle network theme
no you shouldn't
Man, as a zelda main that zelda was frustsating to watch ouch
No
It sucks.Smash 4 wifi was better
Yeah and Smash 4's wifi is bad too! I didn't think that it would get worse! I wish Nintendo would just get a better server! I'd gladly pay extra just for that if need be!
@@GuardianAngelEatos It did suck but the input delay wasnt as bad as it is un utimate.Thats my issue
@@69metersbelow25 Yeah I know. The input delay is my issue too.
i agree
Dam. I wasn't. Lol 😆
Play Byleth elite smash
Let's storm Nintendo and force them to change
First! Lol finally!
