  • According to the United Nation's Sustainable Developmental Goal on Gender Equality, it will take an estimated 140 years for women to be represented equally in positions of power and leadership in the workplace. This as significant progress is being made over the years to achieve gender equality, with more women participating and occupying leadership roles in all sectors of the economy, including the media industry.
As we mark International Women's Day today, we take a look back at the 30 years of South Africa's democracy and how the narrative has changed in achieving equal leadership representation and why it matters.
We are joined in the studio by a panel of women who have made great strides and been leading in male-dominated media industries. Janine Hills, CEO of Janine Hills Authentic Leadership, Nombini Mehlomakulu, Managing Director at Integrated Advertising Agency and joining us virtually is Koo Govender, CEO of Publicis Groupe Africa and Kgomotso Moeketsi, a radio personality.
