Greetings from New England, thank you for a great tutorial. I have now made two boxes based upon this tutorial. (Actually my first foray into the paper crafting world. I look forward to learning more from the "Gentleman Crafter". Keep the tutorials coming!!!
I just found you and so glad I did! That has to be the slickest thing I have ever seen done. I will be an avid follower. So glad you had a chance to take a class from Tim, he doesn't get to my part of Canada. Thanks so very much!
Oh man! I have been making boxes but never thought to strengthen the 1/8 seams between the squares. So much better and makes it more durable. Thanks so much for this video.
The Ustream class was a blast! Thanks for the update. I kept yelling at my screen last night with the correct measurements. It was a fun show, but this is a great video for referring back to. I knew you'd give everyone the proper fix "cuz you're just that kinda guy."
just stumbled upon your sight and I so luv this tut..thank you so much for taking the time...and so look forward to seeing more of your tuts...smooches
Hi. I am Cleopatra from Zimbabwe. I cant tell you how your tutorial has taken a lot of my frustration out of box making with chipboard. I normally make card stock boxes but when a client requested black boxes I was stuck. You cannot find black card stock(at least good quality) here in my country. So I had to learn to cover boxes professionally and quickly. I tried Peter Baumgartner's tutorial but struggled with it. Its also not so simple to find the right glue that glides easily on chipboard. On card stock I love using Tombow but I cant use use it when making the huge chipboard boxes. So I tried your tutorial this evening and I almost fainted as I pushed down the inner cover. Its turned out so beautiful. The structure strips really do make the box stronger. Im still struggling to find the right glue tough. For the outer covering I used wood glue which did not work for the inner and so I resorted to using Tombow and red tape. Worked a dream. I'll attempt the lid tomorrow adding on an 1/8'' and I pray it will go over the base. Thank you for taking your time to do the tutorial. It really has helped me
Thanks Jim, I missed that part of the box in class so this is good for me with the correct measurements. The box is totally awesome. I love it and I love how you have embellished the box too. See you in class. TFS!!! :-D
An oldie but a goodie......the video I mean lol! Great little box, I think I have to make a coupe of these, I love the way you clipped the sign on, that way the box can be changed if you want to re purpose it. Thanks for this, I’m stuck in bed I’ll at min so going through all older videos forward, it’s your turn lol all the best from me in the cold wet Uk. Huggles xxxAnnxxx
Great little box for all kinds of uses! Me thinks I need one for my distress inks - I will lay it on it's side so the inks will stay the right way up, and visible. Thanks for sharing - Julie
Wow following this video is a dream! You make it easy to go step by step and explain and show it so well. Almost done with my first box! I have always wanted to learn and now I can! My creative mind is on fire! Thanks so much Mr Gentleman!
Thank you so much. I love how clearly you speak. Some videos out there have me grabbing for the of switch because the crafter is so excited they are yelling! Or "humming" every other word. Any way , I've watched a few of your tutorials now and had to let you know, to my horror I have tool envy. That board you use for scoring the paper may end up costing a fortune. I will look for it here in England but if I can't find it then the postage from the USA will have to be bor, because I must have it lol.
Just found you and realized - you are one of a kind! Love the box, love your style: "i'm just that way..." I don't really subscribe to a whole lot on youtube, but I subscribed to your channel. Keep it coming!!!
That was absolutely amazing - thank you from this amateur Jewellery Creator in Cape Town, South Africa. I will most definitely be adding your creative ideas to my Product List. It can be used for almost anything, just by changing out the sizes. Have to go and find some of your cool tools too. 😊
Genius! Have watched 3 times and the best tutorial on box fab that I have seen. Being from below the Mason-Dixon line, I can understand the narration. ;o)
So clever...the more you did the more I lliked but I wonder if I wanna work that hard......i usually use mini cardboard boxes already formed then cover them with pretty craft paper. U did a grt job
Yes, Tissue tape and washi are the same. The xyron Machines I use are The 12 inch Creatopia and the 9 inch Creative Station. The 12 inch I purchased from Amazon and the 9 inch I purchased from Michaels.
I loved this video! Everything was so clear and concise. Your tools are amazing. Where do you get them? I wasn't really considering making boxes, but this definitely makes we want to try.
I love the box how do you always do it so neat it fitted perfectly I am not very good at working with 1/8th or 2/5ths and that sort of measure menus in the uk normal rulers only show the half and quarters and builders here normally are the ones that use these measurements will have to look for a builders ruler lol love the box Hun xxxxx
Wow love the finish, so easy and fast. Never thought of doing a lining this way. Thanks Tim Holtz. Great idea all around!!!
So far this is a great video on making a box.Love how you put the tape in each groove, awesome 🤩
